- This classic Schwarzkopf coaster actually has three loops, two vertical and one horizontal at a 45 degree angle. However only the two vertical ones are inversions, as riders are not flipped upside down on the horizontal one.

I've probably ridden this coaster 100 times at least. One of my all-time favorites.

This one brakes HARD.
I'm from Ohio, so I'm used to Cedar Point and everything. Over the summer I went down to Georgia to visit some family and we went to Six Flags! Besides the rain appearing every 10 minutes and the humidity making me feel like I was in steam room it was great! The only downside is when it was raining they stopped Mind Bender right in the break section at the end of the ride, every time. So you'd come from a joyful ride to you face smacking the bar directly in front of you. Still had a great time!!

This one and "Revolution" have to be the best Schwarzkopf's ever. However, I haven't rode the Mindbender in Canada.
This is a good one to ride, up to the very end when it comes to a hault. It slams on the brakes hard, stops, then carrys you back to the ride lobby.

Remember riding this in the mid to late 80's. On the lift hill it has nothing but ground and dirt to the left. On the turn around before the 2nd loop it went through a dirt cave! Wow things have changed!

@Pantherdude777 They were both designed by Anton Schwarzkopf, the Rev in 76 and the Mind Bender in 78. I am a big fan of the Rev.

Ever heard about the 84 lift roll back on this ride? My mom was on it when it happened. The anti-roll backs started to brake and fly around everywhere. The train ended up crashing into the one pulling into the station.
That never happened I just asked my mom and she said she went once a week that year while it was opened for that season and one of her favorite rides was the mind bender

Rode as a teen in the 70's, it hurt my neck and scared the fire out of me, way too rough, loose lap bars are dangerous stuff! Never again for me.

I've been to six flags over Georgia once after 15 years of living in Georgia, I hate heights and don't plan on going back
This ride is fun but the lap bar is loose. make sure to hold on tight and keep your head leaned back. then you should be fine!

Shockwave was designed in 78 too
I was there one year (2001 I believe) on a slow day. Toward the end of the day, some of the ride operator were taking bets they could go the whole ride without the lap bar down. I was on a ride where a dude did it. Fuckin crazy!!!

Now they have sensors preventing the ride from dispatching if any restraint is not locked. The employee however was an idiot and probably was fired

There is a story (I don't know if it's true) that Anton Schwarzkopf once demonstrated to some insurance people that his coasters didn't need anything but a lap bar by putting them on one and making it stop upside down at the top of the loop.
The superdooperLooper at Hersheypark still runs without over-the-shoulder restraints, too (even after they got new cars).
GP, you don’t need any over the shoulder restraints, it’s fine, gravity holds you in as well as the lap bar. Look at coasters by RMC, they have Zero-G stalls yet they still have lap bars
lol, stupid gp and their over the shoulder restraint needs. there's so many launch coasters, mid-sized coasters, wooden coasters with inversions, new steel coasters with inversions, diving type coasters, these shwarzkophs showed everyone the truth. People are just too dumb to get it, and apparently prefer having their head hit the restraints. Arrow's and Vekoma's probably all could've been made smoother if not for the dumb as hell gp. And age too? Seriously, twisted cyclone is like the worst ride at six flags over georgia. this one is definitely one of the better ones.

The ride gets your adrenaline pumping, because you know you're not in danger but your body senses danger and genuine fear. So I guess adrenaline.

No. This is a Schworzkopt ride and was really common back in the day. Several rides from Schworzkopt still operate, and only 3 of them have over the shoulder restraints. They are safe however due to the shape of the Loops not being an oval and more of a circle, exerting more g forces on the passengers therefore holding them in their seats.
Kinda similar to Shock Wave @ SFOT.

Sharwzkophf coasters weren't rough and didn't even need over the shoulder restraints despite how many have them versus. how many don't. The only reason why they didn't dominate the market was not having the greatest salespeople, and the sleaziness of vekoma who provided cheaper for crappier built stuff and thus took business away in a time where people really weren't expecting everything to be as smooth as a B&M (that's not a stand up that is, gg georgia scorcher is like the only tolerable one, least in the USA).
