Very informative, however it confirms what a breeder said a long time ago, the only way to find out for sure if you have a pair is if they have baby because even if they lay eggs but the eggs don't hatch, they may be two females.

........................ I think Hobbyist who just wants a school of super pretty show grade baby Discus should just buy the "clutch" of baby from a breeder. It's still cost a bit, but a lot cheaper than you trying to pair multiple adults. Or just buy a proven pair, but doesn't guarantee they will breed for you though. Just buy babies if you don't plan on sailing.

@@Dikseboy True, if you have the patience for it. You paid for instant beauty or you can wait 6-12months for a successful spawn and another 6-12months of growing out the fish. But, once you 100+ Discus in a tank you can say "I made that", and it is truely rewarding.

Sellers sometime have natural pair and sometime they can't guess them. So its up to pet store guy whether they know it or not or you can use this tricks mentioned in this video to find male and female take 4 male and 4 female.
