The Super Mario Galaxy ending i think is what really hits me right in the heart. I remember loving to walk around the many maps trying to find and meet all of the lumas. I actually teared up a little bit at the end of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, when Bowser was given that cake. It makes you think that Mario and Co. aren't just shells of characters. They have true personalities and morals. While it may not be obvious at times, it's there.
The mario game's ending which made me cry was the ending of Mario and Luigi partners in time! The end when we say the hands of Luigi Mario and Peach waving to baby mario, baby luigi and baby peach is sooo cute it made me cry a lot!

Mario and company had awesome times kicking the asses of Wart and his forces together, but those missions never happened and only Mario will remember them. 3. The credits sequence in Mario Kart 64. There is *something* about the music and the panoramic views of the tracks that makes the tear ducts flow... 4. The storybook segments in Super Mario Galaxy. The art style and background music is heart rending to start with, but it gets worse when Rosalina admits to herself that her mom is sleeping under the tree in the hill. 5. Mario falling out the window after being defeated by Bowser in Paper Mario. Honorable Mention: Although not in the final game, Super Mario 64 had unused animations for Mario crying.

While Super Paper Mario may have not been a great game gameplay wise The story was amazing A love story between a bad guy and good guy, one trying to destroy all universes after losing his love of his life and the other trying to stop the destruction with amnesia
The song that plays as Tippi and Bleck are at the alter is a mix of the song that plays during the flashback textboxes that show up after each world and count Blecks theme, slowed down and made more calm compared to the normal version, making things even more emotional. Its beuitiful
Super Paper Mario is so deep and emotional. I couldn't believe it was a Mario game the first time I played it with my brother. It made us both cry at least a few times. I was so deeply invested in the story of Blumiere and Timpani, even before I realised it was Tippi and Bleck. And that one girl from the Over There, who was actually a Pure Heart, and her parents always knew that one day they would have to say goodbye to her, but they had grown to love her as a real daughter. She ran away after fighting with her parents, and then when they are finally reunited, she has to give up her life to save all worlds. That really was sad to me.
