*Malenia's waterfowl with vow while being close range needs precise timing, otherwise you will end up getting hit once, but you would be able to survive it

I've long been saying Vow of the Indomitable is a goddamn crazy ash of war and absolutely invaluable to use. I often use it to avoid grabs, I have a bad habit of not using it enough though. It is one of my best friends. Can't dodge the Astel grab? Just Vow of the Indomitable it! Can't roll the Radagon triple slam? VotI! Mailketh? You guessed it, indomitable vow!

If I had a nickel every time I've seen someone use this underrated AoW, I would have 3. Which is crazy considering it gives 100% invulnerability. Especially in PvP, whipping this out is completely out of left field, people dont expect it.
Apparently you can use it on the fingerprint shield, and it's not even a frame slower.
Been playing Elden Ring for over a year and only discovered this AoW today. There are so many different boss attacks in this game that I just can't seem to dodge no matter how much I practice so I might have finally found my solution to surviving them. Thanks for the demo!
I guess most people never gave it a second thought because of bloodhound step… a real shame.

It really is underrated. 100% Invulnerability with like, 1 or 2 startup frames and so little endlag its onpar with pre-nerf bloodhound step; the only thing is, it's on a shield. Most people don't use their shield so they can have more offensive options (or just more damage from two handing) so most people won't even have an opportunity to equip vow, much less use it. Then again, if it was on a weapon, it would be ridiculous, so the tradeoff is more than intentional

I heard from reddit that it can also block Placcidussax's nuke
extremely useful in PVP too, especially because it's the only way to consistently dodge ghost status build up. Great for facing status effects that completely immobilize you even if they just ghost proc, like sleep and madness. It's not something to spam, but to use wisely.

It isn't underused, it's simply that a portion of the playerbase doesn't found fun to just click an invincibility button, instead of learning timing and spacing.
You can punish some attacks with this AoW, so it allows for greater aggression in certain situations. It also costs FP, so you can't be wasteful with it. It's not any more of an invincibility button than dodgeroll, and you can't tell me you're not using that one lmao
