Big fan of these....$40 bucks for a decent looking watch I don't have to worry about putting batteries in every year is worth it to me. Every other watch I own is an automatic for that battery maintenance reason. And so what about the moving bezel ? I'm a diver and never use one...we use dive computers now. And it's only rated for 50 meters ? No problem either....you really can't dive much more than 50 meters safely anyway without Nitrox. Actually 33 meters is the recommended maximum deepest for a novice with just an Open Water diver certification. I have no qualms with using this watch when when going recreational diving, unless it was a risky technical dive and I wanted a backup for my dive computer. I have much more expensive automatic watches, but I end up worrying about them too much, and even then they get banged up and start looking raggedy. With this watch I can wear it everyday and not have to worry about "babying it".
I have the exact same watch with a bluish purple dial and brown leather strap in India ... cheapest solar watch i could buy plus it's been really durable too, I've put it under a lot of stress in the four years I've owned it, use it with a NATO strap nowadays, crazy part is that Timex went thru a lineup reshuffle as I was buying this watch, so i got it as one of the last pieces in the country at a steep discount, around 38 dollars when it was being sold at around 60-80 (converted pricing), now it's been unavailable for quite some time now and old pieces sell for around 160 bucks 😂😂 that means my unexpected investment has grown at a rate of 42% in these last four years
Hey thank you for this rundown on this particular watch it looks great on your wrist it's real nice it looks pretty big at least 45 mm big very nice watch thank you for sharing this video
Thanks for saving me some money. The solar and 20mm lug width are great features, but at half the water resistance of the Casio MRW200h (half the price of this watch) and bezel that doesn't rotate make this one a pass for me. Really enjoyed your video!
@@musicsavage4456 i found this watch last day sale on a mall on osaka, it's about $120 or ¥11.000, idk it's cheap enough or expesive price, but when i try to see it detail... it's not worth with price like that
Cheap is certainly a relative term to price. I wouldn't say that it feel's "super" cheap but this watch is rather light. First, the nylon strap is thin and practically weightless. Furthermore, the only metal on the watch other than the strap hook is the stainless steel back. However, it still holds up fine in my opinion. I don't mind the weight because I can forget that it's on my arm. Also, as far as I know, this is the most inexpensive solar powered watch on the market, coming from a reputable brand like Timex. With that in mind, there will be trade offs in other departments to allow for the solar movement.
Shame that Timex has so many nice looking watches out the last couple of years because their build quality/longevity is trash. Casio makes a ton of great watches (in terms of build quality and features)at this price but unfortunately most of those look like clown shoes to me. Also WTF is it with Timex only luming the hands!? How hard/expensive is it to do a little line at the 12 o'clock index too!?

I bought one a few years back, it's reliable, accurate it sat on my nightstand for over a year before the battery needed to be recharged.

Thanks for sharing! That's interesting to hear
$41 bucks for a solar Timex is not a bad deal at all. 👌

It’s the headquarters in Massachusetts.
Many casio solar watches light up :)
If I get one I’m taking off the label on the watch band.
is it second hand or BNIB ?
I bought mine brand new but at the time of the review that watch was probably 1-2 years old

Would be a nice budget/beater solar watch, like the looks of it, IF it wasn't so HUGE. 44 mm, dude, ... why..
I do have relatively small wrists
The Expedition Scout Solar is 40mm.
Would be a great size for my 9.25" wrist. 38-40mm simply looks like toys (or a dime) on my arm.
You think it feels like plastic but it really is resin material it's not plastic trust me
Is it solar powered
Yes
What color are the indexes
The watch indices are a light grey color.
@@musicsavage4456 I am gona give this one a try ;d . thanks
Does the watch feel super cheap

Lum last a few minutes. G-Shock solar model GAW has bright led light for windows and hands, so you got tat wrong.
Cheerleading instead of review.
