Hello 👋 I hope you’re safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity and love all over the world 🌎 I'm Engineer Christopher Johnson from New York and you where are you from if I may asked?
So, I saved 2 hummingbirds that got caught in my screened in porch cause the wind blew the door open. Seemed to be a mama and a baby cause the one was super tiny, but nevertheless was holding her own flying with the bigger bird. They eventually got tired and let me pluck them off the screen, the bigger one flew right off but the baby looked stunned and just laid in my hand for a good 10 minutes. I took her out to the tree with the feeder on it, and ZOOM she flew off!! Since that day, I've seen these 2 birds constantly. I sat down by the tree and just watched them, and they both came inches from my face, little birdie landed on my head but quickly took off. I'm convinced by reading the comments these are the same birdies and I believe they were telling me thank you 😁
And she also got an amazing view too! She’s a queen of her perch!!❤ isn’t that just beautiful? That woman who lives at her house is extremely lucky to bear witness to life!
Beautiful video. This August, I had an amazing experience when I just put up a fresh feeder. A hummingbird came right up to it. So I stood still and watched. It began to fly around, then hoovered right in front of me. It seemed like it was checking me out. Then it flew around my head a couple of times, stayed a little while longer to feed some more before it flew away. I'm hooked!

As a volunteer wildlife rehabber, one of the most incredible experiences I had was rehabbing an injured hummingbird...her beak was so tiny it fit inside the tip of a syringe when I fed her
I just read your statement on here. I wrote a note on here for some help with a female hummingbird with a broken wing. I have never helped a hummingbird before. What thoughts would you recommend to get her rehabbing to fly again. She walks good on those little legs and drinks a lot of sugar water. I put her in a large mesh box with no lids. She can't fly at all. Her wing was bleeding but it's quit now and fresh new features are coming in. She chirps a lot and when you talk to her she chirps back at you. She seems fine Otherwise from the broken wing. I just don't know how to get her to fly again. When she gets all of her feathers back in, Will she then fly again? If she is permanently disabled from the wing... How can I take care of her properly? She is a wild little bird. I am not going to Keep her caged up. She has been here for a long time on the place that I live. Mohave dessert California. There are a group of other hummingbirds here to. They always fly around the house and they stand on the mesh box and seem to talk to her a lot. Anyway what are your thoughts on this and what advice can you give me for a good quick recovery for her to get her back to living correctly again for a hummingbird?
@@oklahomafreedom5536 Hi Rick you are a sweet person to care so deeply..without seeing her I cant tell- where did you find her? Are you sure the wing is broken? If you feel around the joints on the bad and good side you mighy be able to tell- do you have a wildlife sanctuary anywhere near you? If shes eating and singing that's a good sign it's not serious

It's funny how they get used to us. I am the only person of my family from whom my birds do not shy away. But l also get the wild turkeys knock on my glass door to let me know they need more food. This was the smartest bird. Huge eve for covering. You provided "nectar." She didn't have to leave them. She had a perch right outside nest. And YOU are the most blessed woman ever!!! I so wish I saw one hummingbird. I can't attach 1 thing to my upstairs apt window. Ugh. You are so blessed. 🐦😃
That is so cool I love hummingbirds too! To be able to watch a hummingbird, build her nest from start to finish was trully amazing! You also did a really nice job capturing the lives of the 2 babies grow up. Well done👌🌸💓
Thats cool, I had one fall asleep on a feeder, hanging upside down. I thought it was dead , and when I touched it , it chirped and flew away. Let us know if it comes back
I have had to put out two hummingbird feeders as one wasn't enough to accommodate all 18. Just before sunset their feeding frenzy is a combination of "last call" and "Heathrow". They have become so accustomed to me sitting nearby that I set up a ladder and held my little finger next to one of the feeder's perches. You can't imagine such a magical experience of having this amazing tiny bird being so trusting actually feeding while sitting on your pinky. Darryl

@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy thanks for all your nice view of the birds and go on I have not idea of this.
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy how do you keep the bees from comeing?
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I haven’t had the privilege of watching a hummingbird build a nest or raise young birds so this was wonderful to see.
@Linda Durham There's this video I recently watched on UA-cam by 'Ginglingo' called "Baby Hummingbirds Life Cycle from start to finish", from the entire nest making process to the baby chicks leaving the nest! It's an awesome and interesting video with fun facts along the way. Hope you watch it!
I love this video..it was awesome. I too feed them and watch them all day. I hope I get blessed with a nest I can see...but we do have predator birds here trying to swoop on them
We had some IN the rain gutter during a drought. It was so delightful because it was the safest place of all. Thanks for the hummingbird movie❤

They have no peri feral vision or so I've been told
LOL! The 'babies' are bigger than mom at the end and she's still feeding them, very cool video 👍
She fattened them up to be able to make it when she cuts them off. Just loved seeing this.😍
Temporal overweigh?
Im sure that some of that is baby fluff before molting and showing their adult feathers
Hummingbirds are amazing! I've been feeding hummingbirds for about 26 years! Thank you!
Just put one up a couple days ago. No hummingbirds. I have seen them in the area. What am I doing wrong?
@@COULDbWORSE1 make sure your sugar is sweet enough. I make my own nectar . I use a three or 4 qt pot, water, and 4 cups of sugar. The finished product should have a like gold amber color. I place my feeders in the shade and around other plants. Good luck!
What food do you give to humming birds?
@@stanleymatthews5794 you can make your own nectar for the hummingbird feeders. I use a 3 or 4 quart pan I add water bring it to a boil I add 4 cups of white granulated sugar stir and dissolve and let cool. It should be a light amber color. You add this liquid to the feeder.
@@Bearwoman11 thanks very much. Will try this..
Love how she sits and tries it for the perfect fit before leaving for more material as she's building her nest! 😉
That humming bird is not stupid it built her nest right next to her food, out of the rain and shaded...pretty smart.
She's a great mom.
It’s a blessing when birds trusts us to be around us when they have such big important task .

She seems fine
Otherwise from the broken wing.
I just don't know how to get her to fly again. When she gets all of her feathers back in, Will she then fly again? If she is permanently disabled from the wing... How can I take care of her properly? She is a wild little bird. I am not going to
Keep her caged up.
@@oklahomafreedom5536 Hi Rick I managed to locate a rehab facility an hour away from you, Tehachapi Wildlife Sanctuary..the number is 6618722256 I just spoke to someone there, they will be able to help her..good luck!
That is how I found your channel, it was because of the hummingbirds! You captured such great footage of this wonderful mama 😊
I love you for taking care of the beautiful ❤️ little bird's nest.
What a wonderful experience to witness all of this!
One last comment....how could anyone dislike this. She videotaped some natural and beautiful.
Some people have a hobby to give thumbsdown....Thanks
God is showing off... again...
A life worth living when these little things present themselves to us.
Amen to that! Well put!
My dad kept lots of feeders and he passed away in 2004. My mom has several now and a screened in porch. Haven’t seen a nest but this is really neat!! ❤️❤️❤️
What a wonderful experience. You have created a safe Haven for these little wonders
How wonderful to be able to watch it happen. Usually nests are hidden. She trusted you to care for her and the family and knew you would NEVER harm her. Thanks for all the effort it took to do this. Their lives are so delicate. We will be seeing them in about a month.
That is awesome! Eat and work. Eat and work. All to build a nest to make herself a new home for her children!!! I can’t believe I’m actually crying! That’s an Allen’s hummingbird!!❤️❤️❤️😍❤️❤️
So true! Mom does it all ❤️
Thanks for all the hard work you do to help these incredible birds. I love Hummingbirds for me they are the UNICORNS of the bird world. I have feeders in my backyard. Never get tired of watching them. May your Bliss be blessed, keep up the good work.
It's funny how they get used to us. I am the only person of my family from whom my birds do not shy away. But l also get the wild turkeys knock on my glass door to let me know they need more food. I sit there watch them, listen to them and realize man has never been expelled physically from the Garden of Eden, the expulsion was mental because we are still physically right here but we hardly ever notice this beautiful majestic garden we call Mother Earth
When the feeder is out of water, the hummingbirds do the funniest things! They will literally fly up to all my windows and stare inside haha
Wow!! How awesome is that. You must be the hummingbird whisperer. I would give anything to see something like that.
She is a good mom!!!! She didn't want to leave the sight of her eggs to get the nourishment she needed. She Trusted you or she would have never built it there. Absolutely beautiful❤!!! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Shes right next to her food! Smart girl
Yes, one very smart bird for 2 years! Thanks
I love her "tamping dance." You're so fortunate! I especially love the decoration she put on outside of nest. Precious.
Thank you so much, I hope to get my video up soon from her re-building her nest from this year, from start to finish. Robbie
An absolutely heart-warming video, Robbie.
Made my day. Been talking to my 2-year-old son about the hummingbird and how fortuitous that we ran across your video, he loves it too.
A hummingbird came up to my front screen door yesterday and sat on the edge of it for a few seconds after I came inside! I never saw a hummingbird up close until yesterday!
Wow 😯 wow. How blessed you are to have that next to you.
That was great! I moved a few years ago from our home where we had 75-100 everyday. I had to feed them everyday. Now I just have about 7-10 and I miss the many birds we used to feed!

I love 💗 hummingbirds too, they are such precious little jewels 💎
Here in the northwest, we are blessed to have a variety that stays year-round. With 4 feeders, I have to make 6 cups of nectar every day. As you said, you use A LOT of sugar. My "bugs" are one of the bright spots of my day. Thank you for sharing your delightful and rare experience.
You are so welcome, she ended up building 6 nest right there, thank you, Robbie , here are the other birds we have in our garden, ua-cam.com/video/DmxLvuujUH0/v-deo.html

This is the cutest thing ever! So awesome. The hummingbirds that come here in Michigan in the summer are green with a red or black band on their neck. I too feed them regularly here. They are one of my favorite birds 💜

Keep trying, thank you, Robbie
I found hummingbirds playing in my garden and so I bought 3 feeders and now I have families of them. I love watching them zoom all over and race.

I just love hummingbirdes
Me too,
I have had to put out two hummingbird feeders as one wasn't enough to accommodate all 18. Just before sunset their feeding frenzy is a combination of "last call" and "Heathrow".
They have become so accustomed to me sitting nearby that I set up a ladder and held my little finger next to one of the feeder's perches. You can't imagine such a magical experience
of having this amazing tiny bird being so trusting actually feeding while sitting on your pinky.
Darryl
That’s AMAZING! Thanks for sharing! I just saw a new baby with a red head feeding tonight on my feeder 🤗💕❤️

Hummingbirds are very territorial. They have to feed constantly, or starve. They feed all day because they have to. So, they will protect the food source. Beautiful!
So true, thanks, Robbie
They use sooo much energy with that rapid wingbeat!
Well done in your care and respect for our World's diminutive critters. Thank you for sharing your beautiful soul.

Wow! What a gift to be able to watch the whole process of nest building, egg laying, and hatching. Then, to watch them grow and learn to fly. You are blessed. ❤
