  • We got a new woodsplitter do deal with those big tree service rounds! A Split-fire 3209 on our bobcat e26. The eastonmade 12-22 will defiantly stick around, but no more fighting those big rounds!

If anything they go hand in hand. Break down the big ones with the Split Fire and run the large splits through the EM quickly.

Very true, that's why we ordered the splitfire, to deal with the big tree service rounds. They are not fun to wrestle with on the eastonmade.

Nice, I am currently waiting on the same 3209 to come, should be early in May. Going on a smaller CAT 302 CR. Noticed your mount for it has it set at an angle similar to a bucket mount, curious if you think that is necessary, do you feel limited as to how much you can curl in and use it (and does it cur out further than needed)? I was going to just mount mine basically flat to the top of the splitter (there is a small bit of angle built into the mounting ears I have), not sure if this will limit me in one direction or the other.
Looks like it works well for you and your machine, great video!!

Thank you! And you will enjoy the splitfire, much better than a skid steer mount. We sold that and went with the splitfire. I think you should be fine with just the mount. This is the mount I swap between my breaker and the splitter. These xchange mounts are not cheap!

Not sure about this method with the fuel costs considering the speed. Looks fun though and less labor

Fuel is getting out of hand! But I bet the e26 is better on fuel than the 12-22. It sips. But it won't replace the productivity that's for sure, it'll only deal with breaking down those big rounds to make them safer on the eastonmade.

Nope. The most cost effective way to handle those large rounds has been a rip chain on the chainsaw. Cut in half or quarters so they can be picked up and then take care of them on the, splitter.

I’m sure the splitfire has a place,my opinion keep the eastonmade.👍👍🇺🇸

I agree! Michelle might think there's to many wood splitters 😉 but the eastonmade and splitfire serve two different purposes.

How much does one of these run. I have a similar size excavator. Just curious on cost.

They are roughly 1850 Canadian. Plus shipping. May have changed knowing how fast prices can nowadays.

Definitely, 3 woodspliters shouldn't get me in trouble with the miss's 😂
