      Thanks Kathy nice to be able to divide them and make them go further. Love doing that and these were easy to divide.

      It was super dry all summer then 2-3 days of rain now dry again. We are usually dry. We are part of tornado alley too weather can be unpredictable. I love this time of year all the warm colours hope it lasts.

    Your garden always amazes me with all the varieties there are and so many vibrant colours - love it. The alliums will be beautiful there and add their burst of color to this bed too.

      Now to figure out the rest of that bed. I feel it needs some height at the back.

      @@creatingmygarden I can only think of annuals. Cosmos, Zinnias, Foxglove. Or maybe a Salvia if there's room.

      @@sydneykasmar yah this is a challenge. I have been leaning toward yarrow cause of all the colours it takes the wind stays upright nicely but I haven’t fully bought into it yet but on the curve once established it clumped together so nicely

      Yes last fall it got my attention with all the colours and this year I am sold. I can’t get enough of it. I found a cool muted purple one it was a deeper purple then the lavender I was super excited about this one I gotta get it in the ground so I can get a flush of blooms and share it with you all.

    Great dividing example! Would soaking the clumps in water after removing the soil help with getting them apart? Zone 3 Manitoba 🇨🇦🌸👏

      I think so ha ha I didn’t originally plan on dividing them kind of spur of the moment but water would have made it easier for sure. When I divide my other ones I will give them a quick rinse first.

    I have a humming bird feeder outside my family room where I love watching them. I grow the Serendipity and want to get more. I can't bring myself to divide them. Bonny

      It’s so hard to do I should divide the ones in my back garden too.

    If you didn't deadhead the yarrow would they self-seed?

    • @creatingmygarden
      @creatingmygarden  2 місяці тому

      Yes you can collect the seed too. Yarrow is one plant that is so little work drought resistant and put on nice colour on strong stems. Love it. I grew the berry blend last year from seed once I tracked some down. I hope to find some different colours this year and grow some again from seed.

    There are two clumps of Allium in my garden that need to be divided. I really need to get around to doing it. I have to admit I did cry a little bit when you pulled the Petunias. 🥲

      Yah it was hard to do but they had chooses after all the rain. I will find something nice to put there. Kinda want to add a curve to that bed.
