Blinding Flash will be capped at 3 enemies. As Villain Theory brought up, in the Moon Girl ruling FFG made a rule which differentiated what is considered ‘paying for a card.’ It is only the resources spent up to the cost of the card that are considered part of the payment. So, while you can overpay for a card, you won’t get any added benefit for that overpayment (unless the card specifies otherwise like AntMan leadership Ally or the Wasp aggression ally). Still a dope card though. Stun and Confuse to 3 enemies is very powerful.
Nova and Ironheart came out on the first day of the first Con of Heroes, so everybody was buying the new packs that morning. Since it was new, there hadn't been a ruling on the Moon Girl payment thing, so the whole weekend it was fun watching people deck build specifically to take full advantage of drawing a bunch of cards and dumping their entire hand to play Moon Girl just so they could draw a whole bunch of new cards. I was not one of those people, but I had a good time watching it happen.
The Arcade mod set in Red Skull would be kind of nuts... Two cards in the encounter deck that just delete the whole deck, and the 3 traps to cycle in the side scheme deck...
Very excited for Jubilee! The play style sounds like a really fun puzzle. Agree on the Nova vibes 😁 38:06 one thing to point out for Multitalented is that 3 cost is a plus for her jacket and glasses. It would trigger both for an additional 3 damage and 3 thwart! I think that’s why she has the higher cost curve.
100% She could run Hit and Run as well for the one-card trigger for 3 from both of her upgrades, which might be particularly useful if you're running X-Men basic allies and the Power in All of Us.
There is also the justice and aggression resources that add to the thwart or attack value. That adds to each instance. So that big thwart with her jacket as well can get silly.
To VT's point, regarding paying and overpaying for Jubilee's events: Overpaying is not "paying for" the card. BUT, in Stryfe's scenario, cards have their cost increased, in which case you could need to pay 4 to play the card, and in that case you could spend 4 different resources. There is also an obligation that increases the cost of events by 1, if I recall correctly (from City and Chaos, maybe?). I think this is addressing those edge-cases.
Wonder how many copies of her Firecracker and Flash of Light she’ll have. The article says Firecracker is 7A, while the card image shows 7C. FoL however is both article and image showing 8A… 🤔
It will be 3 copies of each if my card counting is correct. And like her resource cards, I suspect each copy (7A, 7B and 7C) will simply have a different resource icon!
A little old man trivia: the art on Plasmoid Energy is giving old school art because it is old school. That's the art from one of her trading cards from the 90's 😉
Making a silly deck last night with all the three enhanced resource upgrades and trying to match a hero, then Jubilee drops today. 😅 Can't wait to see all the solutions/decks people come up with for her. Like Villain mentioned I hope they go back to old heroes and have other traits PSS.
Husk looks like an amazing Voltron build-around. Even without upgrades, for one mental and one physical resource you get 2 thwart or damage (heal and ready), for as long as you want. With Mission Training, that's +1 thwart. With a Sidearm she gets +1 Attack. And once it's Game Time, she does it again for free!
I'm not sure if it's a typo, but her pre-order page on the asmodee store linked from the FF website says she's coming 17th of May - same as Iceman. Really hope that's the case, because a 2 month gap between each hero is going to be rough otherwise
Chamber was part of the Generation X team but when Generation X stop existing he became an X-Man. His power is that he generates energy from his mouth but when his powers manifested it blew his jaw off. That's why he looks like that
I didn't see anyone mention this. In campaign mode unlikely duo could be really good for Mutant Genesis. If you are Wolverine or have the ally, and keep Jubilee around, it will be really easy to hit the team-up, which can be a problem with these cards. Looks like an interesting set. I've been pretty excited about all the reveals so far, less so this one, but sometimes i get surprised.
I had to check if Sonic Rifle is an item, but no, you can't grab it at your mall, generally speaking all the best items are hero specific. Jubilee gave me some Ms Marvel vibes (event based, boosts events, extra ways to get your setup pieces) I guess Beat Cop can help with her side scheme, but it's bit odd pick for event based hero, also she can only search deck for this side scheme (not discard). Some decks I want to try are definitely Flow Like Butterfly and Honed Technique, with HT you can take some meh cards are bring them to the realm of uber efficiency (10-11 damage Uppercut), looking forward for your picks
@@VillainTheorythat’ll definitely make the 9 health more interesting to manage for sure! Either way, she’ll be fun! Thank yall for doing the gut response discussion over it
My guess for this character was Leadership. Don't overthink the label: as an archetypal sidekick, I imagined her as adding boosts to allies to make them take the center stage. I liked that they included a player side scheme in her kit. Its just another card type, so why not.
For Blinding Flash: I'm not sure on the rule to overpay with 4 separate cards, but if you played 2 resources and a 2-wild resource card, you could specify the wilds to be different elements right?
Spies can also thwart the shopping Spree with breaking and entering. Also, Jubilee's events can be paid for with X-gene and the aspect resources like Martial prowess.
Generation X to pull gamma slam right when she hulk has low hp could be good! Since theres only 1 per deck sometimes yiu cant find it jt when you need it
Great news! I love Jubilation Lee and was wondering how her mutant powers would be implemented. It seems they found a very interesting way to represent them! At a first glance she seems weak (basic stats) but having 3 double/different resources cards in her kit is something we haven't seen since Black Panther. Jubilee surely won't have problems removing villain attachments (looking at you Juggernaut). Also, Wolverine seems sooo voltronable 😮
Not sure if "Unlikely Duo" would work with "Float like a butterfly" (except if it was already confused before) because when the attack is initiated the enemy is not confused at that point.
I love how Jubilee wants to use sidekick on Wolverine but Wolverine doesn’t want to use it on Jubilee. Husk and Chamber were heroes on a team called Generation X with Jubilee and lead by Emma Frost and Banshee You can use her natural resource generation to add a second resource to the traditional doubles for the 3 or more cost cards
@@NelsonAllOverCards Husk's power can be kinda gross. She is called Husk because she can make her skin turn into any material but her previous layer of skin gets left behind as a husk. Gen X had another hero named skin who could stretch his skin out, wrap it around things, etc
@@IamJFD haha we started recording about 60 seconds after it was announced - it was up probably within 90 minutes of it coming out What’s fun is that we have had a standing meeting the last 3/4 weeks in anticipation and it happened today!

Took the words right out of my mouth!
Very thematic that gambit can go on a shopping spree with his alter ego
I'm fine with 1 hero pack every two months. I feel I'm drowning in content.
I love how her fireworks power comes through in the theme of wanting to use multiple resource types = colours.

Psyched for Jubilee's deck. Husk, Chamber and Wolverine great cards. Love that Arcade is coming too.
