The Terminator and Aliens may be dark but they still had charm and comedy that made them a blast to see. Most of the edgy elements In Spider-Man comes from Peters struggles with his identity and power. His swearing and violent actions are natural and understandable. If you were bullied all your life and felt isolated, gaining extraordinary powers would allow you to express yourself in a way you’ve never seen before. No. Super strength, agility, stamina, the spider sense, at 16? You want the truth, we are lucky this stuff really has never happened. Can you imagine an actual hormonal teenager having those level of power and nobody to check them? Better hope he's got good parents, that's all I can say

It’s so crazy to think that if this movie would’ve actually been made, we probably would’ve never got the Sam Raimi trilogy. Crazy how little things in life can lead to massive changes
Something makes me feel like someone went back in time to make sure we got the raimi movies and not James Cameron films. Maybe we wouldn’t even have gotten the mcu if it wasn’t for raimi
@@itsyourboy7150 its kinda overrated dont get me wrong I love the mcu pre multiverse saga but the industry is over saturated with super heroes now and lot of mcu movies don’t really follow their comic book counterparts
They should've stuck with Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy if u ask me! But what do I know?! Wilem Dafoe and actors of his calibre don't come around! I'm glad he's in the very last Spider-Man movie again...although how the hell are they going to form a continuous storyline.
I always found James Cameron's version of spider-man to be very interesting and unique, it's grounded, but different then what were used to with how spider-man is portrayed
I'm conflicted whether this would've been rated R or not. James Cameron hasn't confirmed if it was supposed to. Peter only says ONE F-bomb, (which many PG-13 movies get away with) and bridge scene is mostly vague in it's details, and could've been off screen or cut entirely. The movie would've also come out by 1994/1995, a time when the animated series was out at the time; The same show where Spider-Man wasn't allowed to use his fists, characters not allowed to say "die", no mentions of death and no use of real guns. Comic book movies started to become more family friendly after TMNT or Batman Returns scared kids away. (Like Batman Returns's script had R-rated levels of scenes cut like Penguin showing Catwoman a "toy" in a umbrella and aims it near her crotch, and later had a sex scene with her (which was filmed according to DeVito.) And a scene where clowns uses guns and murders families on the street.) You have to remember that this wasn't a full script so who knows what would've stayed or been cut in later drafts. Every movie always changes and becomes what it is during the editing stage but I feel like the studio would have interfered and cut many scenes and lines out to make it more marketable to kids. Just trying to be realistic here. That's just how it works.
That's actually something that happened with 'Spider-Man' (2002). Close to launch, the movie had issues because it almost got a R-rating, mostly due to violence from the climax between Spider-Man and Green Goblin, which is surprising that they even managed to get away with what was in the final cut. Thankfully they managed to get it to an acceptable PG rating at the time.
I think Cameron is absolutely capable of making a good Spider-man movie, however I think a lot of the tonal decisions and character choices made for this project just weren’t right for the character of Spider-Man and certainly not as his mainstream introduction to the world.
Yeah but once marvel realized the real bux were in the sale of toys these dreams were dashed. I hope we are blessed with a R rated wave of all these superhero movies once they realize the audience that genuinely loves it is old enough to spend the money and in either case it will be worthwhile for everyone involved .
@@WarpingFist yeah but would it be good for young minds to starts looking into character itself.csuse personally Spider-Man films where great as a little kid going with family to go see em and it peeked my curiosity into comics themselves
I’m glad that we got the raimi movies and I think that they were a much better debut film series but honestly I’m kind of intrigued by Cameron’s darker take on the character and source material.
Let's not forget; This movie would've been in the 90s, and it would've had a lot of practical action sequences. Look at the action in his Terminator movies. All on screen stunts. You know that Cameron would've filed an actual guy climbing up on the World Trade Center or swinging across the city (a la Darkman) and you know Leonardo DiCaprio would've actually been in the suit most of the time, they would be on screen and not covered in CGI. And the only moment of CGI could've been from Sandman's morphing, and a few background shots of Spider-Man swinging.
Amazing Spider-Man seems to share a lot of similarities. Spider-Man becoming angry and vengeful after the death of Ben and Peter being a social outcast are things both films share.
@@teddybear8348 Ehh, I doubt it. But I can't prove it. I feel like Raimi's Spider-Man was a "right time" situation. It came out at just the right time.
@@saltystick_99 he would have a lot impact especially way that James Cameron spider man was made and his world around him and probably James will explore that tragedy of Peter life
Not gonna lie, I think Cameron's version could have worked but in other ways it doesn't. I think his version on Mary Jane would've been more interesting than the other two we've gotten over the years. Giving an explanation for MJ's popularity person makes her a more interesting character rather than what they gave us in Sam Rami's films and even the "Home" trilogy's outcast MJ. I also like the revenge and striking fear into criminals concept they put into the first Amazing Spider-Man film. It shows how he should mature and become a symbol of good. The way you described this film though, I think it could still pass as a PG-13 release. Heck, The Batman passed a PG-13 rating and it's the darkest of all the live-action Batman films.
@@indedgames4359 Yeah a lot of people tend to forget that Peter in the early comics was kind of a huge wisecracking snarky prick who didn't take any bullshit from villains, bullies and even other heroes.
I think darker stories work for an older peter. Like the marvel knights comic run. It makes sense to me that teen peter would have lighter stories that, even when dealing with heavier stuff, kept things generally upbeat. But as adulthood sinks in, and the toll of his life is weighing down on him, the stories get darker as he gains a deeper understanding of the darkness that exists in the world and the experiences he witnessed firsthand. Like marvel knights spiderman or the older peter from into the spiderverse.
Especially the organic webbings, Peter's memories with his parents, and the fact it would've been called "The Amazing Spider-Man" (I know that's his trademark name but we wouldn't get a movie where it was called until a decade later.) and TASM's darker tone.
@@brandonspain12345 Also in the script Peter identifies Uncle Ben's killer via a tattoo on his wrist which is what Peter does in the first Amazing Spider-Man.
Damn this sounds so awesome and much more faithful to the comics in terms of Peters character, after reading the first issues it's clear that he is the kinda guy that is 1 bad day away from becoming a school shooter, with a grudge against the world and superiority complex, but over time he is able to overcome it.
@@SteamGrace indeed, it's also just adds another layer to the character and makes his story so much more impactful and inspirational. The greatest trials are the ones that require us to overcome ourselves, after all.
That actually seems like an interesting take. Imagine a movie so dark, with Peter Parker going through puberty in the worst way possible, getting beat up and humiliated at school, having no success at making friends or finding love, almost dying from radiation, losing the uncle that was one of the only people that cared about him, dealing with the fact his uncle's death was his own fault, unable to get money for his aunt, maybe even considering to take his own life. Once he gets the powers, he just becomes a full on villain, getting revenge on everyone that made his life hell. Maybe not killing his classmates like an actual school shooter, but he does everything people did to him. When that's not enough anymore, he becomes Spider-Man and starts brutally beating criminals, because that's the only way he can satisfy his desires and finally get rewarded with things like money and fame, even if people were afraid of him. When he fights a supervillain and gets really close to killing someone that he finds out is actually innocent, that's when he realizes that he's becoming what he hated, the same type of person that took away his uncle, and THAT'S when he finally manages to overcome his chaotic desire for payback. It's not guilt, it's not responsability, it's not even inspiration. It's truth. Tell me that wouldn't be an amazing origin for Spider-Man. Having a main character that goes through all this growth, it would be a thrill ride for all the public, young and old.
Maybe after the events of Spider-Man No Way Home, this idea of James Cameron’s Spider-Man would fit well with the darker route that Andrew Garfield’s character spiralled into after the death of Gwen Stacey, would be a very interesting film in my opinion
Humm that's some dark Batman-ish take on the character; I know it's so rare to see this kind of superhero movie from likes of Marvel Studios, yet I wish this story to be told with the original vision in the medium such as the Comics or the animation
If you guys enjoyed this video-ComicPop dove into this script treatment a while back. I definitely recommend it. What I find most interesting is that certain elements really influenced Raimi’s first film. I wish we could seen how this film would’ve turned out, but (in some ways) I’m really glad it just got left as a treatment and exists in the ether as a “what if” type of situation.
I think that the perfect time to make this film is within 5 years, superheroes have shown us the best of its potential. Now any negative or positive influence james could have on the genre has decreased, we have seen the best of spider man, I think it could be cool to see something different now. You get what I'm trying to say?
To me Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker is closer to The lonely and had no friends and always piss off Peter Parker from the mainstream comics (616 and 1610)
Peter's early challenges before the bite can be compared to Steve Rogers, he was physically weak and bullied... however, Steve was never afraid to finish a fight...even before he was selected by Dr. Erskine for the Rebirth experiment.
At the end he couldn't stomach Electro's offer, as the world turned against him, he is driven to solitude. When a good man learned it wasn't worth being one, instead of turning evil, he leaves everything behind. No loss, no victory, only a tragedy, just to him.
It's cool seeing how much his Peter is inspired by the original. What could differentiate the eventual next live action spidey is a focus on Peter's social aspect. The 3 versions have touched on it, but not the extent this seemed to be aiming for.
Idk why but the scene in Spider-Man 2002 where Spider-Man saves MJ from the thugs in the rain reminds me of this cancelled film. Maybe it’s because of the dark implications behind the scene
@@albertokorogu1258 it is implied MJ was about to gang r**ed due to the kissing sounds one of the thugs make. Another UA-camr called Anomaly did an analysis of the film and also came to this conclusion
Depth, substance, character growth, vulnerability, the relatability on the life of what it means to be unique and not fitting in. Especially on a R-rated film would have been great and let alone something i would love to see. Sadly! Its more of a missed oppertunity.
I'm actually glad this version was never the start of the spiderman movies. Because if this was the movie that started it out, I don't think spiderman would have been popular with the masses
I'll say it. This could've legit been the best Spider-Man movie ever made, even to this day. Why? Because it pushes a boundary that only a few comic book movies do: what makes a character human? When you watch a movie, you want to be able to understand the protagonist, so you can follow their story and get that sense of "what have I gained from this movie?", not just from an cinematic experience, but also from a story perspective. Most of the time, we'll see a superhero get their powers, fight a villain and win, the basic premise. How you do that premise is what makes it special, and this script definitely has it, putting not only its characters in very realistic situations, but also providing a point of view that deconstructs that premise while also giving us that odd feeling of "what if it was me?", which is genious. Peter Parker going through the struggles of an average kid, growing resentful towards even the ones he love, facing the cold truth of life as he explores the world in his journey of self discovery. All of that will impregnate the minds of everyone, at the thought of realizing what people really have to deal with everyday. The only issue I'd say is the ending. It doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose but to fill a gap on an already tragic story. I believe the ending should be something that gives us that big climax that makes the entire plot come full circle, be it a happy or a sad ending, with Peter learning the main lesson behind all his suffering. I'd really like to see a new Spider-Man movie as close as possible to this, with the title character becoming a true menace compared to what we're so used to now. Maybe not another reboot of Peter Parker, but maybe a darker version of him? Kaine Parker, the Scarlet Spider comes to mind. Sony is so used to making villains antiheroes, maybe it's time to make heroes antiheroes.
I disagree, it would’ve been the best Spider-Man movie of it’s time. It felt too much like the Michael Keaton Batman movies and not like the Raimi movies we’ve come to love. This movie would’ve never felt timeless
There are things I would take notice here 1. Spiderman seems kinda mix of the pre ultimate spiderman meets catcher in the rye. Somehow. Kinda feel like it. 2. MJ seems to be depicted as either MJ we know from comics, Liz Allan, and Drew Barrymore's character from Poison Ivy. 3. Somehow, the story seems to be a bit inspired by many coming of age movies of 1980s, with that usual criminal stuff that was a bit of a trend during the 90s. 4. Was Electro here Norman Osborn? Doc Ock? Definitely not Electro like in comics. Overall, it's a pretty solid scriptment here and I can see why the late Stan Lee gave his blessings for it. But, eh, I'm happy for what we got eventually with Raimi's trilogy.
I really love this version and it lets me know there are possibilities of a rated r Spider-Man movie and it sounds pretty good plush it’s my favourite movie. Okay I know it’s cancelled but it sounds so good it ends up being my favourite even if it’s cancelled just like the Batman year one movie which is also my favourite.
I've always kinda wish this was the Spider-Man movie we got instead. It was always really fascinating and I love the character development in this. It would have been nice to have this version have a cameo in No way home or at least Multiverse of madness.

14:19 I think what further enforces the fact that the film could have gotten a PG-13 rating with rewrites is that even though at this point almost all of James Cameron's films had been R he had actually directed one PG-13 movies in "The Abyss" so if it was PG-13 it wouldn't have been his first PG-13 rated film. Also, he has directed several movies that got a PG-13 rating after what we can assume when this film would have gotten released with Titanic and the Avatar movies. So even though the majority of his films are rated-R a PG-13 James Cameron isn't unbelievable even before this scriptment was even made.
Raimi's films were definitely better to introduce the character to the mainstream but now that the character is as wide spread as he is I wouldn't mind seeing this version come to reality.
It's a real shame we will never see an R rated Spider-Man film in any capacity cause It's something id really love to see. Maybe not an origin story as we've had a million of those already, but a dark and gritty, small scale Spider-Man story set in the 80s, in his late 30s, and with a Gabriel Dell'Otto style suit is something I've always wanted. It doesn't mean Spider-Man himself has to be dark and edgy as he can still be himself, but it would allow for some really hard hitting and scary villain moments, and some really intense on-screen action scenes that we haven't seen yet.
Really? I think a more personal look at Peter Parker as a human being would be more interesting than the "usual Marvel action film" we get nowadays...think about it exploring the actual duality of the character and his personality. Not only that looking at the other characters...the environment and how they help shape the character!
While I appreciate the ideas of what this movie was going for. I feel like it might of been too dark and mean-spirited and might not fit the tone for Spider-Man, maybe if it had some re-writes here and there. Maybe it would have been fine but I'm happy with what we ended up getting in the end.
It's worth mentioning that aside from some of the elements planned to be used in this movie being repurposed in the first Sam Raimi Spiderman film, one idea in particular was reused in other Spider-Man media and that was the titular hero battling Electro on top of The World Trade Center. In the finale of the pre-9/11 version of Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, Spider-Man and Electro fight on top of the WTC Twin Towers, this was however later changed to be a single unnamed building instead of a pair of twin skyscrapers in the released version.
Good vid, but I wish you went into more detail on Electro and the ending. Cameron's treatment had a gritty realism to it that few other comic book films have been able to capture. One of my favorite little moments from the pitch is when Peter's costume is damaged after fighting Sandman, so he decides to just buy a new one from a local costume shop because "it's made better than his original costume was."
..A Rated M spiderman game ... and I thought getting spiderman PS4 for the first time was exciting... Or if they pushed the R button to NC- 17 like in the Evil Dead Remake... Of course it wouldve been the sales figures taking a beating in the end but these days we just want good shit to view and people will do anything for entertainment.. so I say make the damn thing already.
The beauty of the mcu phase 4 multiverse saga, is that movies like James Cameron’s Spiderman can come back and officially be a part of the marvel multiverse, without messing up the main mcu.
Actually Cameron did consider a sequel right after, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Doc Ock and Kevin Spacey as Green Goblin. Both actors would instead play DC villains such as Mr. Freeze and Lex Luthor.
I would like to see this, but I don’t think spider man would be as popular as he is today if it weren’t for raimis. But I think it coming out now or or just sometime after the raimi trilogy.
I liked the original Spiderman movie because it touched on some of these ideas, buit the Cameron version sounded good too! Electro as a possible mutant, rich and powerful gives him a realistic enemy to fight.
I mean green goblin coulda worked too, if it came out before raimis. Goblins an incredibly dark villain which I think would’ve fit the tone since he’s abusive and narcissist and just a shit dad to Harry. We’ve had electro like twice and I’d want to see somethin else, what about shocker?
This honestly sounds really cool. Always wanted an adaptation that explored the frustrated part of Peter's personality. My only issues are the Batman parallels (obsessed over parents' deaths, wanting to strike fear into criminals) and Electro's part being better suited to Norman Osborn (imo).
Given how similar the Batman in Batman Beyond is to Peter Parker/Spider-Man(teenager, quippy, lighter heated, has to learn how to balance superheroing with his personal life, even similar origin stories)seeing the tables turned with a more Batman-like Spider-Man would be just as interesting imo, definitely not for Spider-Man’s first major movie release, though. Also pretty much anyone who knew their parents and lost them early on would probably be obsessed over it, it would be traumatic.
Bro are you recording with the background music? You speech is hitting beats in the music and it's super trippy. Love it! If a happy coincidence or a well-executed style.
I really like the idea of spiderman being unlikable at first but then later in becoming the hero that we know him as in the comics. It gives him a better character arc.
This is absolutely one of those things that would cause a butterfly effect Creating ripples that would completely effect the superhero movie industry forever
Of course with cutting a few things like the bridge sex scene and the webs coming out of his butt, without these things I could see this film being a masterpiece, I don't know why people assume this film would've been crap. Maybe they are just use to unrealistic quips every two seconds being the normalized standard for marvel movies, but humans in real life don't act like that, they don't betray their morals for a haha funny moment. A more grounded, relatable peter parker could be incredible if done right. I kind of see my own idealized young peter parker the same way; a bullied, social outcast finding solace in his studies. Grounded and relatable.
I think there are certainly aspects of this that can be taken and adapted into something better, but the picture this film was creating overall wasn't very good as a first time Spiderman film. Edgy concepts do not mean they are good concepts, and I have seen time and time again people thinking the topics of sex, drugs, and gore in a film make it somehow mature rather than dealing with topics in a mature manner. It's a juvenile depiction of maturity rather than actual maturity, and that is what this theoretical film gives me vibes of.
I'm ngl- I love it. The dialogue needs work and the story could use a few tweaks here and there but overall it actually sounds like a good idea! I like how it's more similar to The Batman (2022) with the hero being dark and edgy and misguided as well. This movie makes Peter seem like a real kid with real thoughts with real actions. The fact that he started off doing tricks in the street for money sounds just like what a new yorker would do if they had the crazy ability. And him being scared and disgusted of his powers is also brilliant. Anyone would be terrified if they woke up on a water tower and was covered in webs when they woke up. This brings such a more realistic tone to Peter Parker it's awesome. Of course the bridge scene could be cut out😅but everything else sounded pretty solid! I like how Electro is basically Peter with powers, but instead of his insecurities- Electro has his superiority complex. Basically Electro is Peter with his feeling of superior. What Peter could've become with these powers. This story sounds pretty awesome from this summary so far, wouldn't mind seeing more of this in the future this ain't bad
If I where to make a fan film based on this cancelled movie I would have changed a few things like tweaking the dialogue, cutting the sex scene and changing it to Peter telling MJ that he's Spider-man, Sandman surviving, Electro's death being accidentel, the final battle happening at the chrysler building insead of the twin towers and in the end the civilians of New York find out that Electro was just smearing Spider-man's image by highering thugs to dress as Spider-man and commit robberies
I would love too see a more serious and brutal version of Spider-Man almost acting like a Bruce Wayne emotinal tone too him. Where he breaks his foes, strikes just as much fear as even green goblin would. And the quippy punny Spider-Man take a back seat. I think this would be great . However i dont think this film should have been the first live action Spider-Man movie. I think Sam Ramis trilogy was perfect to fit first then others and then maybe letting this version of Peter shine as I absolutely see the great potential fans would enjoy with having this take of him
that description of Peter kind of reminds me of me in a way. I'm physically weak, and I don't party, but I'm also highly intelligent. the only thing is, I don't like to assume that everybody else is dumb because then I'm going to make a monkey of myself.
The Spider-Man manga also should've had a 2000s trilogy of it's own alongside the Raimi-verse. But filmed by SONY of Japan. Starring Tatsuya Fujiwara (from Battle Royale) as Spider-Man/Komori Yuu and Nao Ōmori (from Ichi the Killer) as Electro/Shiraishi.
I've been watching your coverage of the Spider-Man films for the past few months and you do a spectacular job making them, not to mention the amazing thumbnails! Not sure why I haven't subscribed up until now, but now I am! Also, James Cameron’s Spider-Man film sounds good in my opinion. I would totally watch it, if it got made. Sure, I doubt it'd be Raimi level, but I think I'd like it.
Love how the movie setted well for continuations, basically a early "Sinister Six" forming... but... Sinister Eight or something? Either way, I kinda prefer the interpretation of Electro in the TASM2 (see the cut scenes of his life and u might understand why) but I don't hate a Mafia boss Electro. Its also nice to see any incarnation of Electro that isnt just as bland as the source material too... Only criticism I would have to this movie (besides the weird bridge scene) would just not make so much villains in one movie. It would be too overwhelming at the same time of also making them feel underwhelming if you know what I mean.
Spider-Man has been shown in more serious tones before, why is everyone acting like this was doomed? I honestly would’ve enjoyed a part of what would’ve hopefully been a series of movies where he acts like he did in that one civil war part that he violates king pin in. I mean everyone wanted to see what andrew garfield meant when he said “Stopped pulling my punches” It also sounds like he’ll become the web head we all love in the climax, quipping and all.

(Like Batman Returns's script had R-rated levels of scenes cut like Penguin showing Catwoman a "toy" in a umbrella and aims it near her crotch, and later had a sex scene with her (which was filmed according to DeVito.) And a scene where clowns uses guns and murders families on the street.)
You have to remember that this wasn't a full script so who knows what would've stayed or been cut in later drafts. Every movie always changes and becomes what it is during the editing stage but I feel like the studio would have interfered and cut many scenes and lines out to make it more marketable to kids. Just trying to be realistic here. That's just how it works.
Wish we could've heard Toby drop an F on the big screen
@@darnfrick3354 I geuss Brothers (2011) is the closest to see that despite not being a Spider-Man movie.
@@brandonspain12345lol truuue
I agree. No way this would have been R.
That’s fair. However, since Stan Lee approved of the script I have faith that the film would have honoured the character in the end
@@WarpingFist I agree.
Yeah but once marvel realized the real bux were in the sale of toys these dreams were dashed. I hope we are blessed with a R rated wave of all these superhero movies once they realize the audience that genuinely loves it is old enough to spend the money and in either case it will be worthwhile for everyone involved .
@@WarpingFist yeah but would it be good for young minds to starts looking into character itself.csuse personally Spider-Man films where great as a little kid going with family to go see em and it peeked my curiosity into comics themselves
he’d probably be better making a movie for the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man
I’m glad that we got the raimi movies and I think that they were a much better debut film series but honestly I’m kind of intrigued by Cameron’s darker take on the character and source material.
I def think green goblin was the best first villain. Would’ve been cool to see him in this version since he’s already a dark ass villain.
Makes me wonder how much more Batman Begins could've been. It was still good though
I'd love to see James Cameron's vision of Spider-Man a more serious mature Spider-Man story is something I really want to see
Let's not forget; This movie would've been in the 90s, and it would've had a lot of practical action sequences.
@@brandonspain12345 so?
Amazing Spider-Man seems to share a lot of similarities. Spider-Man becoming angry and vengeful after the death of Ben and Peter being a social outcast are things both films share.
I always felt Cameron's Spiderman would've been good, but I doubt it would've had the same impact as Raimi's Spiderman.
He would probably have a lot more
Imagine the potential memes, it could’ve been a lot better 😭
@@teddybear8348 Ehh, I doubt it. But I can't prove it. I feel like Raimi's Spider-Man was a "right time" situation. It came out at just the right time.

@@teddybear8348 ah na
So he basically becomes Bully Maguire and The Batman
No more like character devolepment showing true comic Peter parker people seam to forget
Agreed, Harry Potter did a good job of maturing the movies and the characters as they got older with each entry
I've read the script and I noticed that there are some elements that made it into the first Raimi film as well as Amazing 1.
Where can you read the script?
@@jongodsey8472 I think its on reddit somewhere
They adapted elements of this script for their films.
Low-key would've loved to see this version
The egotistical Peter is weird, but actually very accurate to his character in the Ditko era.
7:10 This is the first i relate to Spider-man. it happens with me all the time.
Damn this sounds so awesome and much more faithful to the comics in terms of Peters character, after reading the first issues it's clear that he is the kinda guy that is 1 bad day away from becoming a school shooter, with a grudge against the world and superiority complex, but over time he is able to overcome it.
Pretty much. Really wish we could get an adaptation with this kind of Peter. Seeing him grow from that dark mindset would make for an awesome arc.
@@radrno7 I think amazing spider-man was trying to do that but stopped halfway through

Maybe miles
Nah it will be the worst worst than morbius
It can only work as a seperate entity completely outside MCU, completely
Although this never happened for the Spider-Man canon, I would love to see this script fitted for a future Spider-Man 2099 film.
Humm that's some dark Batman-ish take on the character; I know it's so rare to see this kind of superhero movie from likes of Marvel Studios, yet I wish this story to be told with the original vision in the medium such as the Comics or the animation
This script was made during the peak of Cameron’s career so it probably would have ended up an all time great Spider-Man movie
"Peter goes to Bed and when he wakes up, his Bed is covered in a stiky white Substance..." i feel you Bro.
I think that the perfect time to make this film is within 5 years, superheroes have shown us the best of its potential. Now any negative or positive influence james could have on the genre has decreased, we have seen the best of spider man, I think it could be cool to see something different now. You get what I'm trying to say?

Naw it'd still be under spiderman 2

Keep up the good videos my dude !! I Always enjoy your content .
There are things I would take notice here

It’s an interesting reinvention of the character. Electro using his powers to become a multi-millionaire is kinda genius to be honest.

Im so glad spiderman movie saga happened the way it did swear I wouldn’t want my childhood to be any other away! Thank you raimi❤️💯

This sounds like a Spider-Man inspired character that would take place in The Boys show
Good vid, but I wish you went into more detail on Electro and the ending. Cameron's treatment had a gritty realism to it that few other comic book films have been able to capture. One of my favorite little moments from the pitch is when Peter's costume is damaged after fighting Sandman, so he decides to just buy a new one from a local costume shop because "it's made better than his original costume was."
We need either a movie or a game with a narrative like this
..A Rated M spiderman game ...
and I thought getting spiderman PS4 for the first time was exciting... Or if they pushed the R button to NC- 17 like in the Evil Dead Remake... Of course it wouldve been the sales figures taking a beating in the end but these days we just want good shit to view and people will do anything for entertainment.. so I say make the damn thing already.
This is genuinely interesting kinda wishing this was made
“ Peter wakes up with his sheets covered in a white sticky substance “ AYO nah 😭
Imagine having R rated Spiderman movie, that would have been absolutely insane and I would love to see that.
The beauty of the mcu phase 4 multiverse saga, is that movies like James Cameron’s Spiderman can come back and officially be a part of the marvel multiverse, without messing up the main mcu.
If he made the Spider-Man films it would have took so many years for a sequel to release
Actually Cameron did consider a sequel right after,
with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Doc Ock and Kevin Spacey as Green Goblin.
Both actors would instead play DC villains such as Mr. Freeze and Lex Luthor.
I would like to see this, but I don’t think spider man would be as popular as he is today if it weren’t for raimis. But I think it coming out now or or just sometime after the raimi trilogy.
0:34 is that Leonardo Decaprio? Dang imagine 2 best friends switching roles for Spider-Man
I liked the original Spiderman movie because it touched on some of these ideas, buit the Cameron version sounded good too!

I really like the idea of spiderman being unlikable at first but then later in becoming the hero that we know him as in the comics. It gives him a better character arc.

Thank god it’s not a short
They’re just stuff I make in between longer uploads lol
That’s what I’m sayingg
Oh
this is actually the most realistic thing that would happen if spiderman existed
I think Sam Ramis trilogy was perfect to fit first then others and then maybe letting this version of Peter shine as I absolutely see the great potential fans would enjoy with having this take of him
This is how I felt when the movie joker came out finally a real life adult story
My only issue is that although Flash can be pushy, he’s not the type to abuse women
that description of Peter kind of reminds me of me in a way. I'm physically weak, and I don't party, but I'm also highly intelligent. the only thing is, I don't like to assume that everybody else is dumb because then I'm going to make a monkey of myself.
Let's be real, it's not as dark as the Spiderman manga. Trust me, it's super dark.

Thank You

this is the spiderman film I want to see, not the typical kid friendly stuff
James Cameron created a very layered Peter Parker just like Walter White from BB.
If only they would animate this version of Spider-man
Spider-Man has been shown in more serious tones before, why is everyone acting like this was doomed? I honestly would’ve enjoyed a part of what would’ve hopefully been a series of movies where he acts like he did in that one civil war part that he violates king pin in. I mean everyone wanted to see what andrew garfield meant when he said “Stopped pulling my punches”
It also sounds like he’ll become the web head we all love in the climax, quipping and all.
"His bed is covered by a sticky white substance"💀
I don’t know if anyone else notice that James Cameron drawing of Spider-Man had eyes similar to the 1994 cartoon
James Cameron was going to make Spider-Man into Batman technically
This movie actually wouldn’t have been so bad minus the awkward bridge sex scene and the extremely dark tone’s. Take out the bridge scene and sorta lighten up the tone a smidget and it would’ve been a perfect PG-13 film
Or make both a PG-13 version and an R-rated Director's Cut like the Daredevil movie.
