- So, I did my first recital for my vocal lessons. Yes, I know I was off key during the performance, but in my defense, we'd just started playing the song that morning and we were kind of nervous. But I still thoroughly enjoyed the experience :)

I'm somewhat of a musician as well and I have a little tip for ya....don't think of what we think. do what you're doing right now and be confident. I notice a thing I do myself where I look around and am thinking of how I sound. you sound great..keep going on that thought alright. nicely did.

I moved to Nashville Tennessee to fallow my dreams as a musician "vocalist" despite my turrets and my tics that fallow. Anything is possible as long as you stay on the path and never stray from it. I believe in you're dreams are soon to be a reality.

I truly love your videos so much because they're so well put and you let people see what you might not want out there which is apart of you but we all get to see who you really are and that to me is the best that anyone can do. You're so inspiring and so good at what you do and how you make videos, anyone can make a video but if takes one person to do it as good as you do to make people watch through it and get to the point so easily and engage in not only your life but my life by being you and talking, I feel that you're right next to me. I don't know and I'm thankful not to know what " Tourette's Syndrome " can do to effect me and my life and I don't mean to be rude in any way at all by writing this but I'm so sorry about what you have to go through, to be laughed at when we're all the same and you show that to people and those who don't know just laugh and point and I'm sure it doesn't bother you anymore because now you're doing something with your life by making people smile through your videos and sharing stories. I'm not stating that I feel bad for you because of the " Tourette's Syndrome " that you have but anything could happen to anyone at anytime and to take it so well as you do and reach out to people and tell them what they asked is so amazing to me and a lot of people who are apart of your life in your videos but never can guess how that has effected your life. i think tourettes is kinda like stuttering, when ppl with a stutter sing they dont stutter ( almost at all or not at all )bcs they remember the lyrics from their memory

I was about to make the same comment. I stuttered for years and learned work-arounds, but I also noticed that singing completely overtook it. I don't know if it is because the brain works in a different way or if it because so much of the brain and body is focused on the same thing while singing that it bypasses whatever the cause is. Regardless, congrats and hope the recital went well.
singing and talking are two different parts of your brain hence why when she sings she doesn’t stutter

Martin McMartin Yes, when I personally sing, I don't really tic. Most people with Tourette's have an activity that stops their tics if they concentrate on it. For me, it's singing, driving, the piano and occasionally video games (though not all of them).
