      Not A Banana Of course I gave your channel a shout out! You're awesome! Admittedly, it sounded less enthusiastic than I felt because I was distracted by my stomach ticcing, but I really do love your videos. In fact, I'm about to watch your latest now.

    You're so beautiful and attractive, i watched your first q&a video and in there you said you wondered if you were slightly less attractive because of tourettes and i find that to be far from the truth, as long as its someone who truly cares about you and not your appearance, love your videos and cant wait to see more❤️

    i do the grunt one like you mentioned at 5:53 ... it was one of my 1st as a child and has stayed with me the entire time
    the twitch i enjoy is after along day and i do a harsh hand shake, errr metal rocker hand bang ... that's my favorite cuz it just sucks out all the tension and removes alot of the low end residual pent up need to twitch
    your comment about sign language ticcing and then not ticcing during sign language interpretation is spot on with what i mentioned some time back
    tic and twitches are more suspectable if your in an emotional based passive situation like watching a scary movie, but to reduce the TS DO more non emotional focused direct task like learning to play a song on the piano or work a 5000 piece jig saw puzzle... something that requires direct attention on your brain without any emotion
    great video ... you covered alot of ground
    i guess my only question is ... why is the TSA color ugly turquoise... granted is could have been brown mustardish yellow, but there has to be a more appealing color then turquoise blue greenish color
    haha

      you love the color turquoise ?... Owe NO ! ,
      im pretty sure in the Tourette Syndrome handbook, thats considered to be a sign of another TS tic, good luck with that....haha

  • @LoadingError
    @LoadingError 7 років тому +1

    Thanks for the videos! I have been watching your videos like crazy as I have made a new friend who has Tourette syndrome. I am learning as much about it as I can.
    Do you have any activities or hobbies you do that helps you "relax" your ticks a bit? It seems singing might be one?

    • @snappleandcats8045
      @snappleandcats8045  7 років тому +2

      That's awesome! It encourages me to hear people want to learn. And yes! Anything I'm focusing on that I enjoy will generally reduce my tics to different degrees depending on the activity. Singing, piano and driving are the main ones right now. Sometimes my tics disappear when I'm editing for a few minutes these days if I'm really in the zone, but not as much.

    • @LoadingError
      @LoadingError 7 років тому

      Well, thank you for educating people! Glad to hear there are a lot of activities that help you reduce your tics for a little while! One more question!
      How difficult is it to eat when your motion tics are acting up? I suspect it to be very challenging!

    The signing was fascinating to me...
    So I have an actual question : In social settings, I find that the premonitory urge, and it's inevitability to be very unsettling because I know what is to follow; So much so, that it dominates all social interaction. I struggle to maintain the appearance of normalcy, only to feel the urge, and instantly get freaked out, which in turn, freaks out whomever I am speaking with. It's difficult to say the least... I wanted to know do you ever try to prepare to "mask" any of your tics once you feel the urge arise? I do, and it really doesn't work. All it really does is stress me, and whomever I speak with, out. Curious...
    Also, the cooing tick. Best. Tic. Eva! :P

      LeadAstray
      thats a great question, from me personally, when i was younger child and teenager and alot less confident and hadnt fully accepted my TS yet... i was very aware of all my tics and twitches ... but more so then that, i was even more noticeable and sensitive to the attention i attracted , do i run fight or will this just pass with an idiot look from the pretty people
      but as i got older, more seasoned and more accepting of my TS and took my life back. my confidance took over then i became alot less aware of my minor tics and twitches and frankly i lost interest if people noticed me or not, i simply no longer carried what the pretty peoples opinion of me was, positive or negative... if they pushed me, i shoved back simple as that. and ive held to that my entire life.
      the thing i most despise is pitty or special treatment... i hate that more then anything. even from those that mean well and good intentioned and care, but pity is my Bain of existance.

    why do people with toureattes curse like i get it they cant control it but why bad words, why not other words?

    • @snappleandcats8045
      @snappleandcats8045  7 років тому +2

      It's sharof I do say other words. In fact, the vast majority of my tics don't involve swearing at all. In fact, only 10% of people with Tourette's have swearing tics. Sometimes there's a certain urge for me to say the worst thing possible in a given situation, but it's not a constant problem for me and it certainly isn't experienced by everyone with Tourette's.

    do your ticks ever make you worried or scared to go on dates and do you have a boyfriend(you don't have to answer the second one :P)

    • @snappleandcats8045
      @snappleandcats8045  7 років тому +3

      Ainsely Juan Martinez I don't have a boyfriend yet (and I'm probably not going to date anyone via the internet in case people were getting ideas reading this) and I am scared a bit of dates, but not because of my Tourette's. Because I've never been on one lol. However, if whoever I date can't handle my tics, I've picked the wrong date. I'm not really nervous about my tics, I just expect people to accept them or they're the one with the problem, not me.
