All we ask for is to be transparent about the products that you review. I’m not saying that you aren’t. Also EASki was addressing AKAI directly. To my understanding he never mentioned UA-cam content creators. He basically just wants a better machine sonically. As do all of us

Hey DJ Ave, you've put in the work and Akai recognizes that. I'm sure they sent the MPC X SE to mainstream producers too, but obviously you and a selecte number of other content creaters were sent one based on your consistency in generating quality content that has caused the MPC awareness/ community to grow tremendously. Big-ups to you for addressing the discgruntledness, but to those of us that didn't reeally get into the muck and mire, we get it, but it wasn't necessary. Keep doing what you do, you are appreciated.

i think folks are figuring out quickly that it's easy clicks to call people a shill, and react to people who are showing up for their communities, like Ave does, every single day. Whether it's a dude in their mom's basement, or a grammy winning producer who is insecure that his accomplished career hasn't brought the online community he feels he deserves. Ave doesn't have to pay dues to anyone besides his community, and you know what? He has *overpaid* in that regard and he has the success to show for it. None of us are entitled to anything, we just get what we get.
the comments towards Ave were super disrespectful and I don't care how many grammy's someone has, that doesn't give them the right to speak down on someone doing their thing.
I hope people can realize that folks who try to get you riled up on negativity, that try to rally a community based on outrage, are taking more advantage of you than a content creator like Ave who is trying to teach you something.

I just can't rely on ave to stay composed if anyone so dares to not bow down and praise Akai as the one and only savior of mankind. He was in his feelings when weaver beats stated facts about akai doing that 1 of 1 bullsh!t beatclub edition(ave refused to admit that 1 of 1 means 1 of 1, and stated Akai didn't use deceptive marketing to finesse akai fans). He went at Ben Jordan for saying his Akai experience wasn't that great, and now this. I don't know how much they're paying bro, but it must be sufficient 😂

To Ave and Iamsight, the issue here was that you both decided to act upon an opinion that was not directed at you. Ski was criticizing Akai. Again, Ski was criticizing Akai, so why did you feel like you had to come at Ski in a disrespectful and dismissive manner? It was actually over after Ski and Sight spoke on zoom face to face, period done. Then Ave you decide to make a comment in Virals reaction vid saying Ski was upset because he didn't get a free MPC XSE. I believe you said you didn't want to get involved but you did by insulting Ski, inferring he's broke. You further hurt your reputation by claiming that what Ski is to music, you are to UA-cam, really bro? You continued by informing us in your live that companies wouldn't send you gear if you were going to trash it, inferring you had to have a level of bias, its business is what you said I believe. You then brought up race into it which you have a history for, and attacked Viral as an "op" for pointing that fact out. Brother you were wrong for that. You went on to tell your viewers that if they don't like your views you don't have to follow or watch, another bad look. I myself unsubscribed immediately. You then went on the MG's live and tried to make it an issue about sound and that's what the "beef" was about. It wasn't, it was about the disrespect you showed towards another man's opinion, dare I say on behalf of Akai. I hope you can get on a live or zoom with Viral and E-A-SKI to settle this like men. I have a better question for you: did your hype for getting a new piece of gear affect your bias and cause you to not give a fair, sensible review of that product? Your answer to this question automatically tells you if you're being honest or not.
I get that you may not have heard of E-A Ski but all it would of took is a simple Google search and some humble pie to find that out but the pride is too much. I find it an insult when content creators like you who steal others people's drums, snares, sounds etc and sell them in sample packs give no credit or royalties where it's due. You culture vulture the roots of hip-hop and rap and whitewash it to sell it too the masses. It's like selling the trade secrets to popeyes chicken so everyone can fry chicken by using the recipe in which you stole while you make money off of something you didn't create. The audacity. I remember when Ave was on Futureproducers milking the kids too. Sad day but the wise can see the true colors fo sho.💯👋
My MPC one has been collecting dust I and honestly haven’t touched it at all since the Roland 404MK2 came out.
I’m a fan of Ski and a fan of your content but I’ll admit I been a fan of Ski since the Friday soundtrack but would be good for the community you guys talk like grown men you said Ski you right but then said I rather be happy than right which is saying you right but don’t want to argue, but I feel you guys can just settle it like grown men and the community would appreciate in my opinion
You two brothers can find common ground at some point. once everything cools down. You both make good points. But akai does need to upgrade the sound quality coming out the next flagship mpc, or make pro studio version even if its a little more expensive. But i like all of the great content coming from the community. Good job
What you mean by upgrade the sound? Do you have a MPC X SE? Have u played with the Air-Flavor Pro, Air- LoFi plugin Air- Compressor & Air- Limiter plugin on the MPC X SE? U can get the MPC X SE to hit harder and sound warmer than all those vintage MPCs. The 3000, 2000xl and the 4000 all had effects inside them that producers used to make those MPCs sound good. They didn’t mix those sounds dry inside those vintage machines. They all added compression to those drums before they exported them out. Now why it’s a bad thing for us to use effects on the MPC X SE for it to sound good also? The MPC X SE sounds phenomenal. An I had all those vintage MPCs 3000, 2000xl, 4000, 1000, 2500 and the MPC studio and this new MPC X SE is the best. U can make anything sound how u want it to sound with all those awesome effects on the MPC X SE
@@DaMixWizard OMDG. Edit that bs again!!! The dry sound of an MPC 60, 3000, 2000, and One are not the same. But they were priced differently when they were sold brand new. Whereas the dry sound of an MPC One is the same dry sound of an MPC X SE, X, Live II, and 61 Key. Yet they are priced significantly different. Due to varied i/o's, buttons, memory, and other non-sound bs. That isnt OP's opinion or mine. That is a fact. WTF you said doesnt negate that fact. So wtf was the point? Because Im sure that OP knows that any dry sound can be processed to any custom sound, through mixing and post production.
@Diane V who in hell said the MPC 60, 3000, 2000 & the MPC ONE has the same dry sound? I said their not going to mix it dry and bounce it dry. They're going to put some type of compression, transient designer or limiter to make it knock and gel together. The same thing they did on them vintage MPCs, you can do on the MPC X SE

I'd like to know how the software fairs in the talk. The only MPC hardware I have is the 60mk2. I use the software with the mpc studio mk2.

I watched Ski's video, and He basically is telling you that you have not had hit records so there for know your place and stick to being a youtuber. He says He loves youtubers like Bolo but they haven't had mainstream success. Now on that spicific comment that includes Bolo, Ski is incorrect because Bolo has had mainstream success, a few platinum records. Ofcourse that dont comper to Ski's hit records but still its mainstream success. As for Akai giving UA-cam content creators the MPC X vs Those producers who have had hit records using a MPC well Akai is just focusing on UA-cam because it's a great way to advertise there products to normal people.

The new MPC X SE cost a little bit more money but doesn't everything cost more money nowadays, nobody's forcing anybody to buy anything. I don't know I think that most of the people complaining about the price can't afford it, so they get angry.. And maybe some of them are hyping up the MPC 2000 and 3000 so they can get more money for those machines when they start selling them. Everybody is playing a game, everybody's got an opinion, everybody's got an angle..
Do what ya do man. Don't be worried about what anyone thinks. It kills me to see people divided in a situation where unification is the script. You teaching the ins and outs have helped plenty, including myself.

Ave Mcree. I did buy the MPC X SE myself. I am extremely happy with the MPC X SE. I have been speaking out about the new MPCs and what we have gained. Yes definitely AKAI could improve them. I have owned older MPCs 3000 and 2000. Who cares. All of the MPCs are great and have there own place. Also not everyone only makes rap and hiphop music with MPCs. I have been making music since 1980s. I have recorded and been part of albums in several genres. The newer MPCs are wonderful tools for putting together ideas, songs, beats, rhythms, vocals, field recordings and layered samples.
AVE, I totally think that you have put in the work and the time as a content creater.. I feel like there are some people getting really bent out of shape because they think AKAI should follow their orders. Well they are not the only artists making music with Akai instruments including the MPCs. Sure I do believe AKAI definitely could give a little more for the money in both better converters and RAM, 8GB would have been right sized. But I say try to find another sampler that offers as much as MPC as a standalone device, in my opinion you will not find one. I love the MPC X SE. I have no regrets.

The MPC was developed as a songwriting tool for the home based musician, much like how the original Linndrum was. Same with any drum machine or sequencer or sampler or workstation really. The idea that a tool is exclusive to only a specific genre of music or type of artist is completely ignorant.
I mostly got positive feedback on my work with the ISLA S2400 but I did get a few "You don't do beats, you shouldn't have this." or "You're using it wrong." The hell?

Ave - first of all I never got that you were like buy it buy it buy it!! You were just happy to get the new unit - I personally never thought you were pushing people to do anything. My videos personally never meant to divide anyone either. I just felt like it is not for me at that price point- and not needed by myself, I have the key 61 (hey there was this same kind of thing last year when everyone was getting on about it's the same as an MPC with a keyboard). You gotta do what you gotta do - and you love what you love. I have bought things that I love - and they may not be everyone else's cup of tea (as they say).
You have always been a respectful dude - and I would never call you fake, and I feel like I know you well enough to speak on your authenticity. I mean how many influencer's / youtubers have you ever known that straight up called you and tried to help you work through an issue - just to be a friend??
I can say Ave is a legit good person and he has always given his thoughts for you to make a better decision. Even with his own products Ive never felt like he was pushing us (his viewers) to do or buy anything.
In the end - you know what's right for you - don't let negativity fuel your fire. Let your conscience, your research, and your needs be your guide.

Hey Ave-thanks for all you do (and that’s quite a bit). Try not to let it all get you down.
I have been watching this whole Akai/E A Ski/Andy Mack/Insight thing unfold for the past week and change. Everybody has their good and valid points. I just watched the E A Ski vid that this vid addresses, and I did take note that E A is clearly reacting to a comment you left about him from one of the many vids on this controversy. I was wondering if you were aware of that? Maybe a reach out to E A would be good, to clarify the tone of that comment.
I, for one, have never felt you were a shill, and I have seen you-multiple times-call out companies for their products, including Akai. All these bad feelings are unfortunate. Hopefully soon we can all feel better about this whole thing.

When Iamsight posted his initial MPC X SE video I commented on it that it was just a blatant Akai commercial. We got into a discussion and it ended up on my part that in the end, it’s perfectly fine by me to be a tool of the industry but you’ve got to be transparent and honest about it. And this is my point, some of these content creators seem to forget about that sometimes.
Which is where I think E-A-Ski actually has a point. And mind you, I disagree with him on this whole discussion about MPC's sound quality, although I appreciate he brought it up.
You don’t owe any apologies. You brought so many people to mpc including myself. This is them giving you your flowers, and people just like to troll. Keep doing you cause more great things should come for you.
I think this is a tempest in a teapot.
Older MPCs have a sound characteristic of the electronics available in the day. Newer MPCs have a sound characteristic of the electronics available now. Newer devices sound cleaner (more neutral) than the older ones. You can bit crush, FX, pedal, or offline FX, the new machines to sound like the old ones if you’re so motivated to do so.
The same situation exists for keyboards and synths past and present.
Buy what make sense for you and don’t get too worked up in these controversies. I don’t make purchases purely on the words of people I never met before.
I have the MPC X, bought it late 2022. Had I waited, I would have considered the SE. However I am totally happy with what I have. In the end I am happy to have the tools at my disposal to make the music I love and learn along the way. It is the communities in which I have become a part of that has made this adventure exciting and possible to learn the curves and tips of getting to know the MPC. Keep it fun, keep it real. 👊🧡👍
I didn't get a One or LIve 2, I was tempted but I'm to used to and set up to use Reason DAW and I get the MPC feel from MPKs same knobs, same controls, same pads.

You dont have to explain youself at all. every product (not just music, ) give out samples to people who work hard on youtube in whatever area. Anyone dissing you for making videos of products is out of order. absolutely anyone would accept an MPC if given one.

I think both sides are entitled to their opinion. Sound is subjective and I don't have any issue with people disagreeing, just don't make it personal.
With that being said, content creators have a responsibility to clearly imform people they are sponsored...that is a requirement. Then people can make their own decision if it is a commercial or honest feedback.
Good to see honesty. Misinterpretations always will happen, but you are outstanding in putting all the cards face-up on the table. Straight-up talking about it. I just unsubscribed to a youtube channel where the guy was being onviously dishonest to push a piece of software that not worth $5, but pushes it for $39. He holds back all the info I know he knows, just to get the kickback from this company. You're honest, you have your passion into this before the youtube $$ ..for as little as they are, right? Your payoff is knowing you're speaking what you really think, and because of that your offering a lot a good advice to us. Kep up the great work man. EA-$keet is a classic case of someone thinking in their own mind that they are far more important than they actually are. He may know hip-hop music. He may even know audio. But what he's not grasping is this.
*Akai* *is* *a* *corporation.*
They will entertain what he's saying all day if you're doing it in a way that benefits them. If you play ball with them, they will with you. It's that simple. But if you start talking bad about one of their products, they don't give a $hit.
At the end of the day, Ski is not going to change the course of the industry and he's certainly not going to change the course of the direction that Akai is going in with their business model. Some young artist who knows nothing about audio and the vintage BS you keep talking about...isn't going to care. It's not going to stop someone who is set on buying it because you spoke not in favor of it. He is not Dre or Timbaland. He simply don't matter enough in the industry music or otherwise to make any difference.

Either I have just been under a rock or I am just confused on what is going on... AKAI releases a "NEW" MPC and name it "X SE", with a flagship price tag of only $300 more then the last X... I like it, but can care less to own it because I am more of a MPC One/Live II type of guy... I don't care if the influencer was my little brother, there is no swaying me to spend money on something that I do not need. So far the content creators I have seen with this product has been very truthful... Signing paperwork/doing videos is definitely a lot of work, so of course they should get the product as a trade off... This is modern day marketing, the division of the community has to be stemming from "economic issues" of today. I just do not see a reason to beef over content creators showcasing a new product in return to keep the product.

However, as an "influencer" for "Akai", you will have to work for them and thus the dynamic changes and that is very clear with with the videos. At the end of the day, it's about selling whatever Inmusic wants you to sell through your channel, it's as simple as that and so the public has to understand that.. I do enjoy when you call out issues with these companies, but I doubt you will be keeping it real with Inmusic like you have Kyle Beats

Struggling to find the point in this 15 minutes of video.
Every flagship MPC in history has been $1999 to $5000. So $2500 for a new flagship today is reasonable. Plus there are smaller MPCs which have the same firmware for 1/2 the price.
As far as these producers looking down on MPC users who don't have the accolades...I find it disrespectful. Because a huge part of the MPCs success was these very same people who helped developed the software/firmware to give these 'professionals' the tools that they are using as I type this.

It’s crazy how everything in today’s world is driven by feelings. How most conversations, sadly with men, are turned into how the conversation is making me feel rather than being critical and focusing on the valid points of the conversation. It’s the continual feminization of men and it’s disgusting. The point of all of this is the fact AKAI is making inferior products and with social media content creators, Akai can use them to be online hype men or women, instead of being critical and holding Akai accountable to all consumers.

I guess I will be that guy. What do you think about his point of the sonics or how to get the sounds right through outboard gear? You have done a lot of workflow and tutorials on mpc usage for different genres commendable. God bless. I’m a mpc x, live and general mpc user! I have followed you and others on software reviews like the sub lab reviews you made back in the day, good looking out! And a couple of others you steer me clear from too, thank you! I think the importance of sonics it what has awakened awareness to the community not so much the workflow or color scheme. I love the workflow on the Mpc X. I think that it is one of the easiest and most usefully mpcs to groove on out of line of Mpc to date. However; the importance of sound or at least how to get it is what needs to be 😢shared with the community as well. My own two cents it great preamps weather hardware or plugins which I myself rely on helps tremendously. For anyone getting and MPC X SE, Enjoy it as much as I enjoy MPC X OG, but we still have to engineer the sonics of our craft which I believe the whole point of the issue that was being made. We are all one users, creative people making our craft. Mpc’s are tools we use, if it can be sharpened and refined in any way along with our craft I’m all for it. Or at least provide insight of additional tools to improve the most important thing the music. By the way Andy Mac is the best musician, tutor and presenter of the MPC series I have ever seen. Big Props to Andy Mac as he has inspired many of us to see and use the potential of the mpc.

As long as it sparks the conversation and bring awareness to the importance of saturation and harmonics in sound to mastered polished commercial releases yeah. We all listened to commercial tracks as listeners, fans and sample diggers, so it is equally important that we have similar if not the same sonics our own releases, just saying.
@@MrBlueHaze the commercial tracks you talk about were all mixed on ssl’s, neve’s or pro tools before you heard them. The idea that the newer mpc’s have sonics that can’t be replicated on new records is kinda crazy.
Modern equipment strives to sound as colourless as possible to give the creator more options and greater fidelity. That’s an advantage not a disadvantage!
Just imagine making a brand new machine in 2023 that sounds as muddy and distorted as a machine from the 80s? It doesn’t make sense.
Besides , how many people are tracking drums instead of just bouncing them down internally and putting them in a DAW? It’s 2023, that’s how most people work now surely?
If that’s the case then the “output” sound doesn’t mean as much anymore. I wonder how many people have a desk at home good enough to make tracking sound better than bouncing internally? And how many people have the time for all that nowadays? The whole argument has been nonsensical to me really.
@@SuperALBSURE you may not realize that we are saying the same thing. The commercial tracks are what we inspire too and yes the pro studio equipment gave that extra shine to the tracks recorded and mixed there. So of course I’m not saying or expect the audio coming out of an mph x or 3k to be a finished polished music! But the knowledge and the process of how to get there is important and that sonics is very important. Which is why I’m saying what the OG said that your beat may be great but where are the sonics? That is why what outside hardware or what plugins can help bring that process through I’m asking as the workflow is great on the MPC X. But the how to get the sonics right it the awareness open for the community. Preamps, EQs and other that Marlow, Bolo, and other are using. Not just out the MPC.
