Literally the BEST veggie burger I have EVER had! I just got done making them for dinner and I’m enjoying it right now. I used red bell pepper instead of poblano pepper. I dunno why I thot it was going to be more work than it actually was. This is going to be a regular staple in my house. My kids are devouring them as we speak. So so so glad I decided to make these!
I am new to eating oil free and following this program, would you please help me with choosing some of the sauces you use and the pastas or breads you are using, I think so far I haven't looked at the oil or sodium or preservatives in my soya sauce or any other such dressings but think it is going to be a chase for me now. Thank you
Vegan for almost 12 years many recipe hits, and more misses than I can count. I’ve made this twice already. I replaced the ketchup for a good smoky barbq sauce. Outstanding.
I love the plantbased warrior woman cookbook I have made alot of the recipes and I really love the flavor of the foods. The dressings are really tasty and so good I have told alot of people about this cookbook and THE FORKS OVER KNIVES ONE AS WELL AS RIPS COOKBOOKS TOO. I ADORE THE ESSELSTYNS AND WOULD REALLY ENJOY MEETING THEM ONE DAY! Hope they come back to Minnesota one day soon.😅
Worcestershire sauce was originally created in the UK "Shire" of Worcester, which is pronounced WOO-stur. For the Shire part, think of how we say Hampshire. The way to say Worcestershire is *WOO-stur-shure*.
I make these every week. I have changed up the ingredients. I replaced the spinach with kale and add my favourite Sun Brand Madras curry that has a beautiful blend of spices-CORIANDER SEEDS, TURMERIC, CHILLIES, CUMIN SEEDS, FENNEL SEEDS, BLACK PEPPER, GARLIC, GINGER, FENUGREEK, CINNAMON, CLOVES, ANISE, AND MUSTARD.
I heard of a chef who uses a big carrot to shove vegetables down the sides of his mixer. So you don‘t get to eat plastic. This recipe is really great. Thank you very much.
Can NOT wait to try this!!!!! Love Chef Karen!! Please invite her back! The three of you were wonderful to watch! (But Ann - you will always be my hero)💚💚💚
I just made these and I can attest that they are DELICIOUS. That red pepper sauce is really good on them! I didn't have jalapeno or poblano, so I just used green pepper in the burgers and just put some sriracha in the red pepper sauce. Didn't even have an avocado and they were still delicious! My only advice is to not over-saute the veggies like I did or the burger is a little wet. But for a first attempt, these were Amazing! Thank-you!!
I made this recipe and it will be replacing my previous favorite bean burger recipe! I love the amount of veggies that are in it but it still maintains the substance of a bean burger. I am single, so I always make a recipe and then freeze the uncooked patties individually so I can pull them out the morning I want one and bake to order.
I am newly into eating healthier and absolutely loved this recipe .This will be in my weekly recipes . I also used sweet potato roasted for a side with these for dinner . 😊🤗
Okay girls, I did it….I just made them. Hands down, best burger on the planet! I ordered every book your family wrote! It’s going to be amazing figuring this plant based eating with you, thank you. Baking the dry beans = brilliant. Taste and texture perfect. Next time, I’m finishing them in the smoker.
Amazing!!! These are the ON THE GO BURGER for us. Husband works at a high school a couple of days a week and I have to HIDE enough so he can have them in his lunch! This is my FAVORITE cooking channel! Many thanks from Show Low, AZ !!!
I just made these for a second time and they are as good as the first time I enjoyed them. I enjoy watching you and your mom, a lot of good wholesome laughs mixed in with some much needed nutritional education for us all.I have been about 90/95%Whole food plant based and working towards 100%. I have 3 of your families cookbooks and love them. Chef Karen was a nice addition to your video. These burgers will be a part of my regular rotation. I haven’t had a hamburger (beef) in over a year. Thanks for all you and your family do to educate us all.
Loved this recipe, Chef Karen! I like the fact that it is truly loaded with beans and vegetables - and not a bunch of starchy filler! Loved seeing how it all comes together so quickly and easily. And what a great way to measure and get every burger the same size. This is a five-star burger!
I made these today. They were quick and delicious. I added mushrooms so needed a little extra oat flour. They are all safely stashed in the freezer. Thank you for such a veggie packed recipe.
Thank you for the delicious recipe. I made these today and they are yummy!😋. I didn’t have black beans so I used red kidney beans. Next time I’ll try black beans for comparison, can’t imagine they could be much better. I air fried some sweet potato wedges and lettuce wrapped my burger. Very satisfying meal.
I just made them. Substituted salsa sauce for the ketchup; half a jalapeno for the poblano. Mine came out really wet even though I doubled the time to dry the beans. I think that the spinach makes it too wet and will eliminate that next time. I currently have them in the frig where they are "firming" up. The taste is great though, I just have to get them "drier".
My coworkers raved about Costco black bean veggie burgers and the idea of not having to make them appealed to me. I read the ingredients and the soy protein isolate and oil steered me away. I've made 3 or 4 recipes of veggie burgers with mixed results. I need something that doesn't take forever to make. I'll try this recipe soon. Thank you. Linda
Awesome! I made mine without a food processor (although I did use my Blendtec to make the rolled oats into a fine flour). Just put all that would have gone in the food processor in a big bowl instead, starting with the beans alone, letting them cool and using a potato smasher to get them broken up more. Then added the sauteed mixture and oat flour and squished with my hands, which made for great burgers without having to pull out my very heavy food processor. I really love these! Oh, and I added a bit of liquid smoke as well.
I just found your channel and I’m thrilled. I’m chef and baker - not completely plant based but always looking for healthy alternatives and inspirations for every day plant based meals. Thanks for everything you are doing! 💕
This sounds as if it would be excellent! I love Jane and Ann's demonstrations; they always have so much fun. Of course, cooking should be fun and eating is the proverbial "cream on the cake." I look forward to trying the recipes.
So fun to make, I replaced broccoli (didn't have it) with fresh baby kale and some leafy greens that are just starting in the garden (instead of spinach- kidney stones) and instead of ketchup added vinegar and a bit more soy sauce- due to tomato allergy. I add3d grounded coriander seeds and cillantro too. They are fantastic. Thanks so much Karen, Jane and Ann!
I really enjoyed this video and plan on making those burgers tonight! I hope Karen will be back, that was fun and so so happy to have the recipe, thx for sharing!
Just made these. Oh. My. Goodness. They are so yummy. Didn’t have any broccoli so I used cauliflower. Added a few other veggies as well. Will make again and again. Thank you so much. 🤗
Looks great ladies! I’m glad I had dinner before watching this. I’d have to grab something. What a collection of athletes your two families have! Wow. Karen had quite a few good ideas in this. I like the idea of pickled peppers or onions. Thank you all for this!
They look great. I have neglected bean burgers for years because the ones I used to make were bland and either too dry or too mushy. However, adding brown rice seems to make them chewier and I am now experimenting to get the right balance. Great vid.
But there is vegan Worchestershiresauce. Soysauce alone will do I think. Someone was asking if there is fish in Worcestershiresauce. Yes, Anchovis (as has been said), some kind of tiny sardines, awfully salty, like in fishsauce from Asia. But the umami taste can also be achieved with some broth made of kombu and mushroom cooked on very small heat. This would make the burgers crumble…My mother told me that Worchestershiresauce is pronounced Woostersauce. There are funny opinions about this everywhere. My grandfather used to say „bötterfly“…bad english teacher. But he could speak Russian quite well. I miss him often.
This burger is so good!! I have burgers once a week and I so look forward to this! It’s very similar to one offered by a local restaurant, but so much better for you! Yum!!
I made these with a few modifications: hot sauce instead of ketchup, balsamic vinegar instead of Worcester sauce. Cooked in a little olive oil in flat pan. Delicious! Thank you 💗
I hit the "LIKE" button, didn't really watch it yet, and immediately sent this to my email to print out this weekend, because I know these will be GREAT!
I love black bean burgers! I recently found some vegan Worcestershire sauce ( warning: most Worcestershire sauce you find in the stores has anchovies in it) so will be making these soon for sure!
These are really tasty. This recipe cut through the clutter of the internet. I made my own ketchup (Miyoko Schinner--homemade vegan pantry) so, no sugar. And I used umami tamari splash instead of the Worcestershire sauce. Next time I'll pulse the beans once or twice before adding the veggies to make things look prettier and more like your video. But, wow, delish dish!!
Can you do more videos on plant based meals for families. We have 4 littles under 10 and I’m constantly trying to think of simple plant based meals that stretch a long way. I have 3 sons and 1 daughter so I’m trying to keep up with their appetites. Thanks! You guys are amazing!
I have found at least 4 brands of sugar free ketchups now and they are all tasty. The primal kitchen one is the closest to traditional but my daughter loves the true made foods one which has added veggies.
I made these yesterday, fantastic, really tasty. Even my meat eating hubby and friend loved them. 😊 I had it again today with Lettuce, Avocado, tomato, yellow sliced Pepper and a toasted brown bun. Yummy. Thankyou. Xc
I definitely will be making these it will help me when I need a meal after spending all day growing food. I grow a lot of our food here on the farm. I think these will be amasing! Thank you so much! Wendy🐞🌺
I ate it just like Karen without lettuce or toppings and it was fabulous! Well worth every step to make them. I wish there was a comment on freezing, but I will try it. I just made a batch last night and enjoyed for lunch today. I'm sure the roasted red pepper, avocado, and picked jalapeno will only make it that much better. Thanks!
I didn't have your exact veggies but made the burgers with rappini i/o brocolli and added mushrooms too! *thank you* for the review....awesome!
Thank you for sharing! 💯
To me they looked dry and wasn’t going to male them until I read your post. Think I’ll give them a go now. 👍
@@bru1015 they’re definitely not dry :) they even held up the next day. By day 3 they were a bit dry but the first night, they’re perfect 🤩

Great video please keep bringing Chef Karen back as a guest Chef.

Finally so nice to have a copy of the recipe posted along with the video. Thank you!
Thank you for put recipe in description so I can write down on my notebook. Burger looks yummy!

Yummy that spice sounds so good. I’m going to try to find that. Sounds like my kind of masala. Thanks for sharing.
I heard of a chef who uses a big carrot to shove vegetables down the sides of his mixer. So you don‘t get to eat plastic. This recipe is really great. Thank you very much.
And also the Saladmaster Machine is perfect for the chopping on the #1 & #2 cone! Quick quick quick and easy

Love your nonchalant and humorous way of cooking.

Can you tell me how you cook from frozen please?
I made these tonight for my family...my husband just asked me to share the link to him so he could share online with his friends!😁
Thank you very much for the respite here. Make it a lot easier

Cheer’s!!!🎈🥳🎉
Great recipe for burger & condiments!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🫶🏻
Read the ingredients of the Worchestershire sauce 1st, some brands have anchovies in it! (Lea and Perrines for example)
And make sure to get organic , non gmo soy sauce
Whole Foods organic worchestershire is vegan!
But there is vegan Worchestershiresauce. Soysauce alone will do I think. Someone was asking if there is fish in Worcestershiresauce. Kroger's is accidentally vegan
Worcester is the way it's pronounced in England. They don't pronounce the shire part.Bugers look good!
