My Cousin works for the LAPD. He was once out on his bike on duty, and he got a call about a pedophile standing outside a school watching the kids. On the bike he rode towards him at full speed as the suspect was trying to flee. Since my cousin was strapped to the bike while riding, he leaped with the bike onto the suspect taking him down. It ended in the arrest of the pedophile, my cousin getting some back injuries but a sick story.

The K9 story made me laugh. I had two k9 German Shepard’s accidentally let loose on me when I was a church missionary going house to house in the backwoods of Washington state. Fortunately the officers thought it was a squirrel their dogs were excited about and not two young men coming to knock on their door, which caused the dogs to not know what to do when they came outside. One of the two K9’s nipped at my coat sleeves but that was the worst of any sort of “bite” I received thankfully, and shortly after that the officers came out and called the dogs off saving us.

The second is dog body language, instinctually in the split second they came out of the door and saw us their body language was friendly/curious yet confused. Not hostile or aggressive like when they know they’re “on the job”. Because we had come to their home and because they were in a playful mood when let out of the house this led them to be thankfully unsure what to do with us.
