Jason is so amazing live. just look at him playing half a feet from the audience. no distance at all with the audience, complete immersion into the music and the atmosphere. i wish he hadnt left
Love this version of Fade. Jason looks like a fan who happened to play with them that night, its great. And probably the best snare sound they ever had
Jason Newstead was the realest guy on Metallica. Guy just wanted to keep making music, never bitched about who stole music. He was all about fun. Look at him interacting with the crowd.
James Hetfield is arguably the greatest metal singer to be born in this millenia. Im an aspiring singer and watching videos of him almost makes me lose hope. i admire this man for all he has done for music and i hope one day i can sing my kind of music as well as him
All the little details and fills Kirk and James put in during the first half of the song on this particular performance is just unbeliveable. So beautiful
this is how i counter all the "after-91" metallica haters. what band makes sound like the sound here if they sucked? theyve always been, and always will be, killer frickin musicians.
If i wasn't 7 years old i would have been there, james voice was soo good then, i saw them in new orleans about a month ago and it just wasn't the same as this, and rob does nothing for the crowd
@MiniHorseRulz yeah i can :) i play guitar we got more sounds comin out of our instrument lol. yeah but i respect the guy i just feel more to jason cause of the music he was involved with during that period he was with them.

I totally agree👌🏻 Jason lived for music/base👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love this version of Fade. Jason looks like a fan who happened to play with them that night, its great. And probably the best snare sound they ever had
Love how he sings "give" in the "simply nothing more to give" bit....a truly great singer hetfield

Yeah I love that, the "Agony" and the "but now he is gone Yeeeah yeeeeah" too
@@darkassassin716 yeah man its wonderul when he yeah yeah's after 'now hes gone'...would have sounded good on the album that

Best Fade to Black preformance ever !!!
There's been many good performances, this is one of the best.
The way James said "give" in simply nothing's more to give.......He fuckin killed it. Falling for it every time I'm listening to it.
3:23 I miss Jason. What an amazing moment. That girl fell in love with him right there and then. He was Metallica's battery.
Don't know why but the way he sings from 1:43 to 1:51 always brings a tear to my eye. The tone, the delivery everything about it.
metallica, iron maiden and black sabbath are the best bands ever!!!!
The sound of that SNARE is so good
James was really into it for this show
Anyone else miss this ending to Fade to Black?
The little lick at the end is just sick!!!!
Best fade to black ending ever !!!
I am here for THE girl I never forgotten
Best performance of this song EVER
Jason Newstead was the realest guy on Metallica. Guy just wanted to keep making music, never bitched about who stole music. He was all about fun. Look at him interacting with the crowd.
anything of this performance still gives me the fucking goose bumbs
la canción una masa, lo mas lindo ver a la fan cantarle a JASON minuto 3:23 , eso es lo que inspiraba en los fans
Metallica during 90s - BEST METALLICA EVER!!!
MrZmake agreed
80s Metallica is better
@@skorpionmvv I know I'm late but that's not true. Metallicas songs of the 80's are far better yeah, but 90's Metallica had the best live performances
Live performance yes ...but as far as song writing, no
and people still say Kirk is a bad guitarist..
I know, just jealous dickheads, that was awesome.
Yep it is silly.....
This was more than 20 years ago, come on...
I was at this concert, it was great; although everytime I've seen them, it's been great
James Hetfield is arguably the greatest metal singer to be born in this millenia. Im an aspiring singer and watching videos of him almost makes me lose hope. i admire this man for all he has done for music and i hope one day i can sing my kind of music as well as him
this has to be the greatest sounding snare he ever had
Old is gold
All the little details and fills Kirk and James put in during the first half of the song on this particular performance is just unbeliveable. So beautiful
This is an immense live performance. Metallica are an unbelievable band.
the best fade to black live
The really best FADE version ever
this is how i counter all the "after-91" metallica haters. what band makes sound like the sound here if they sucked? theyve always been, and always will be, killer frickin musicians.
My all time favorite song!
personal point of view the coolest performance of metallica
Great live.. Jason newsted kicks ass..
Metallica live in Fort Worth Texas doesn't get better than this, was one of my favorite first concerts when everyone paid attention to the band.
Great vid, best recording of Fade To Black ever!!!
I will like to meet the girl that is singing with Jason at 3:24
os12 for like 20 yrs she’s been my muse
Me too! Ever since...
Only she's not a girl anymore for sure😁
@@ivans.191 ?

@spartanxxx17 the last performance they did with jason was this song, when he says the goodbyes jason waves to the camera

it's hammer on and pull off technique :))
Amazing song!
one of the best song ever by the best band ever
This is just one of Metallica's songs that kick some serious booty.
Have u ever heard of Seattle 89'? :)
simply EPIC!!
James best vocal came from his 30’s era.
Utterly Amazing! \m/
BEST SONG EVER....
most be the greatest performance of Fade To Black
najlepsze wykonanie fade to black i've even seen fucking awesome, so energy so power.....
@MovidaNapoletana I agree. Listen to it nearly everyday more than once.
this IS the best fade to black live. EVER

Handsdown best performance ever!!! \m/
Still the best thing EVER!
I like that image of Metallica back in Load/Reload times...
I was there!
ok! : )
it's the second Metallica's song which I can't get out of my head!! : )
If i wasn't 7 years old i would have been there, james voice was soo good then, i saw them in new orleans about a month ago and it just wasn't the same as this, and rob does nothing for the crowd
BEST SOLO EVER!!!!!!!
Best song by Metallica in my opinion.
CHE MERAVIGLIA!
the solo is awesome
James is playing an ESP custom and Kirk is playing Gibson LP
Hetfield vocals best years about 1996-2003... Great performance...
Voice James😭💘
best fade to black live :D
There getting so old but u know what for being older they can still shread!
Prime
Super
Jason serahkan jiwa raganya kepada metallica.. Masa ini
Whoa man! James singing at around 2:05 gave me chills, amazing!
It's the tone on that Gibson.
Nice Song
i would stop careing and start enjoying the music
More time has passed between the time this video was uploaded till today, than between the concert and the video uploading. Feels weird.
jason played very good man
I had this on VHS yes the big @#$%ing A-TRACK TAPE lol good show !
@MASTEROFMUPPETS01 i agree brotha!
i've seen lots of fade to black performed by metallica live... i think this is the best. cunning stunts i think
kirk looks different with his hair cut like that
IMMORTALS
when the song switches to the distorted finish at the end (4:10), the guiar sounds like it did on the record
METALLICA!!!!!!
it is
Holy shit that Gibson Custom has wicked tone, thick!
@Gomez0317 that was footage from earlier in the concert, spliced in for effect, check out theyre latest concert vids, they do it there too
🙏
Have u ever heard of Irvine 96'? ;)
I dont understand why people say seatle 89 is better than this one... This one has better sound quality and clarity 🤔
Obviously not about the sound quality.
these look like the same guitars jame and kirk used for fade to black in seattle 89
they played so fucking good both times
Alice in Wonderland of my ears jerry joker just guitarist and his friends musicians
for the first 2 solos, but compare 1:10 in the vid to that same part of the song from the album. It speeds up
i heard second guitar playing still while James wasnt???
3:40 - 3:45 James' voice is so amazing *--*
@MiniHorseRulz yeah i can :)
i play guitar we got more sounds comin out of our instrument lol.
yeah but i respect the guy i just feel more to jason cause of the music he was involved with during that period he was with them.
2:06 - James ftw
lars is awesome
true, :( still sad he lost it
3:25 I'm in love with that girl for more than 20 years. Where are you my love?
