Such a cool looking lens, and the little mods you did really took it to another level. I ended up buying the X-T3, Sirui 50mm and 24mm anamorphic lenses (wish they made a 35mm X-mount!), Tito's 3-d Printed Oval inserts (and gears), as well as the glimmer glass filter & variable ND filter. All in all, it set me back about $1,800. But I think it's worth it to get some really nice wide angle shots and 4k60p video with the cinematic look of anamorphic -- without spending an arm and a leg. Excited to try it all out when everything gets here! Might eventually get a .7x lens adapter to get even wider (I've heard the widener can make 50mm approximate 35mm, but I'll see how I like the pure 50mm first). Thank you for your awesome videos, they have been very inspiring and helpful!
@@astro8938 I haven't actually had a chance to install Tito's mod yet (I'm a little scared to open up the Sirui lenses lol) but they shoot really beautifully as-is. I would say if you are on a budget this is the best way to get a cinematic look. Just keep in mind that after you de-squeeze your shots, you will lose a lot of the vertical information, so things you thought were in frame when shooting aren't once you desqueeze -- a shame Fujifilm doesn't have an in-camera de-squeeze option, you have to get an external monitor to see it desqueezed while shooting. If you are just starting out, it might make more sense to go with a used 18-55mm Fuji lens with OIS for stabilization and zooming capabilities.

Would you like to try our new concept anamorphic lens?" I said sure and was handed a 50mm Sirui anamorphic lens. It's so cool having them show up in my life out of nowhere and I'm now watching a short video about them after massive succes. Kudos boys!
Amazing. If you were shooting MFT and preferred the 35mm focal length would you go with the 24mm or does the 35mm lens itself offer better characteristics that might be hard to pass on?
I've said it before and I'll say it AGAIN: These SIRUI anamorphic lenses perform way better than they should for the price point. No, they're not Atlases or Kowas or Cookes or anything like that, but for what they are, and for how relatively little they cost, they're really fucking awesome. I love them, blue flares and all, as do the people who pay me money to use them. We are truly spoiled as creators nowadays
Looks really good on my LG Ultrawide 2560x1080 monitor. Maybe you don't need the 1.6x, but I'm still getting that 35mm Sirui Saturn with an FX3. IF your target is the LG Ultrawide, then if your camera supports 4K DCI then this lens is perfect. 1920*1.33=2553.6 which is less than 2560 by 7 pixels. 4K DCI is the Hollywood standard (4096 × 2160) so 4096*1.33x is 2723.84, which is over 2560. 35mm/1.33x is only 26mm, which is not wide enough IMO. The human eye sees at about 35mm, and 35mm/1.6 = 22mm, which is much wider than 26mm, but not really that wide. 16mm is about 90-degree horizontal FoV.
The visuals, sound design and storytelling in your videos are..... quite simply put, MASTERFUL. As someone who has a keen and growing interest in such things I can't help but feel inspired. Thank you 👊

It's definitely something I've thought about, but it might be hard to do and fit the style of the channel. I plan to do some over on at patreon.com/gxace for sure!
Remus 65mm might change your mind and give you a new “one and done” for full frame. Though it is softer and slower, it has better squeeze and character. And actually covers FF. (Yes I’m aware this piece came out before the Remus existed).
I got to play with this lens and it was fun but without the bokeh ovals i wasn't happy , the diopter use is normal in the anamorpic world and i Like the the barrel distortion for close focusing the lens give , i would love if they made a 28 mm 2.8 anamorphic with oval bokeh , blue or gold streaks for the flare and made it in x mount ! great video and i love your setup
As a Fuji shooter, I'm excited about the Laowa 1.5x Nanomorphs that are coming out, and they will have a 35mm for X Mount which is my favorite focal for general purpose shooting. Really glad I've discovered your channel. I absolutely adore your retro futuristic look. Subbed

Your support is lit! Thank you!
Love your video! Very well done, mate. I have a question. It looks like you're pulling focus on your iPhone. What are you using?
Clear zoom is 1:1 sensor readout no upscaling is involved and it would always be better and sharper.
hey, I know you havent really done a lot of color grading grading or even post production videos in general, but i would be really curious how you do it!
It's definitely something I've thought about, but it might be hard to do and fit the style of the channel. I plan to do some over on at patreon.com/gxace for sure!
I always love seeing you rock the vintage defcon merch
Your videos always give me chills, love them
Viltrox Anamorphic lenses incoming soon. I'm excited to see what you think about those too.
Oh wow! I didn't realize that! I'll definitely try to get my hands on those.
This is an outstanding demonstration of many talents.
Remus 65mm might change your mind and give you a new “one and done” for full frame. Though it is softer and slower, it has better squeeze and character. And actually covers FF.
(Yes I’m aware this piece came out before the Remus existed).
I've only got Fuji cameras. How do you think this compares to the other focal lengths that are available for the Fuji system?
This is too amzing...the quality ..jsut wow!
Loving the music in this video. Kept me engaged. Great work!
the lens is cool, but i keep returning to this video for your editing a music choices. gives me goosebumps... i love it
I am not really into photography but I cant stop watching your videos man
You're the only one on youtube who thought about the clear image zoom using this lens! Genius
Neuromancer helmet and Defcon shirt. I respect your immense nerdhood.
Ah, a fellow net runner. Greetings ;)
Your videos look amazing, like in the colors department. Great video man
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Stunning mate, wow.
Many thanks!
I hate to say this but I’m glad you only have 50k subs because your UA-cams best kept secret, this channel will reach tipping point and will blow up
As a Fuji shooter, I'm excited about the Laowa 1.5x Nanomorphs that are coming out, and they will have a 35mm for X Mount which is my favorite focal for general purpose shooting.
Really glad I've discovered your channel. I absolutely adore your retro futuristic look. Subbed
This some how makes me feel emotional
