@@Cleophis1975how tf do you get the clips off without cutting them? I’m currently on my garage floor ready to commit violence. Directions say “pull firmly”. I’ve prolapsed my colon, used every tool in the garage, and cursed the person who made these directions. Still not moving a millimeter. Please god help.
That inner fender was the worst thing ever. I was ready to call Toyota up and recommend the engineer who designed that to be fired. Maybe one of the most frustrating things I’ve done.
I’ve decided I’m going to drill them out and spend the money on new ones at autozone, because thankfully they have the exact devils in stock. Can’t imagine why….
Thanks for sharing. I just ordered one for my 2018 Pro and it should be here in a weeks time. Any idea on how it handles the rain on the highway? I live in South Florida and rain here is torrential.
Overlanding United My Pleasure! You’re going to love it!!! I live in SW Florida same rain situation. TJM recommends leaving the factory drain hole in air box for this reason. No matter what snorkel you get some water is going to get in the scoop and it needs to drain. If you are planning deep water crossings just plug the hole and unplug it for daily use. I’ve been in crazy storms and no issues. With the drain hole if any water does gets in it’s not going to stay in the box. If you look at some of my other videos you’ll see I’ve put the snorkel to good use!😬
@@jimerinrose6235 Hey man, I put it in this weekend. Looks great. It's awesome. Took me about 4.5 hours. The fender liner clips were a pain the ass to take out. Broke some and had get new ones. Drilling those holes was scary as all get out. LOL.
Nice vid. Just curious how much space the tip of the snorkel take on the roof. I ordered mine and dont know if it would clear the prinsu full rack. Tia.
@@jimerinrose6235 Thanks for the info. That confirms that its compatible with the prinsu full roof rack. My snorkel hasnt arrived yet but Im gonna be using your vid as a referrence for install. Subbed.
Well I’m in southwest Florida so snow really isn’t an issue. 😂 I like the way it looks. It’s not as bulky and is less likely to catch on a branch. Best part no one can steal the top of the snorkel off!
bob roger Not really but tjm recommends leaving the factory drain hole in the air box for that reason. You can plug it when the shits going to get real. 😂💦
Thanks for posting such great videos Jim/Erin. 1) Have you had any issues with the TJM snorkel? Any regrets and would you do it again? 2) How hard is it to plug up the rain/water drain hole and have you plugged it for your deeper water crossings? 3) Do you think you would be able to modify the TJM snorkel to work with the TRD Cold Air Intake? I'd like to get one on my 2019 4-Runner but I'm not sure if it will clear my Southern Style Offroad roof rack and wind deflector. Thanks for sharing your insight.
David Wright Thanks! 😉👍 Love the Snorkel, no regrets. I like how it looks, it’s understated compared to other Snorkels that look like a vacuum cleaner attached to the fender. It’s easy to plug the hole just pull the air filter out and you’ll see it at the bottom of the factory air box. Not sure on the fit with aftermarket air intakes, have to set one one in to see. I’m sure it can be made to work.
My TJM arrived today. Looking forward to installing it this weekend.
Awesome!
Let me know how it goes
It went surprisingly well. That inner fender was no joke though.

Snorkle and a hood scoop?
Just kidding, looks good.
Might be a TJM snorkle in my future (I don't have a hood scoop)
Patrick Kelly At least one of them is real!😂

Hey, looks great. Could you provide a link for this? Thanks.
andres perez Sure these guys sell them www.sierraexpeditions.com
Jim/Erin Rose thanks!, I received it and will be installing soon. I hope it’s as easy as you made it look!
Why this vs the ARB Safari? I heard it helps to have a snorkel you can turn for snow so it does not get into your intake.

How does the snorkel connect to the factory air filter box?
Through the hole on the inner fender.
Any problem with heavy rain getting in the snorkel?

@@jimerinrose6235 thats not very practical
@@TheCls63 That's how all snorkels work.
Do you know if this would interfere with the wind deflector of a Gobi rack?
Not sure
Nice! Looks great! Notice any difference in the power with the intake? Seem like it gets enough air?
rumerboyz Thanks! I haven’t noticed any difference. It does sound cooler from outside the truck. Like a 5000lb vacuum cleaner. Lol
Did everything line up based on the template?
Yes
do you have issues at the carwash?
S R I’ve never taken it through a car cash.
Can this be used with the TRD intake or S&B intake?
Not sure
Nice job. Love the look of this snorkel. Any issue with rain, given the intake angle?
G JM thanks! No issues in rain but I did leave the tiny factory drain hole💦 🕳

does this snorkel fit on a 2010 4runner?
Bradley Wilson yes if you have an antenna you’ll have to remove it and the mount.
Notice any differences in your MPG?
daffy dafuq same mpg
Has anyone had issue with carwash?
Never took it thru a car wash.
