I find that light interfacing makes a good medium for tracing patterns. It's light enough to see through, but durable enough to last and last! :) Everything turned out sooo cute!!
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and it’s so cool to see someone learn how to sew! As a 17 year old (almost 18) I’ve been sewing for almost 5 years so it’s odd to think some things aren’t common knowledge for people! Ima share some tips and tricks I use personally, so take everything with a grain of salt :D 1. When you have patterns that you can not cut out, trace it on to paper! By tracing it on to paper you can draw on your own ques/instructions onto the pattern so you can remember how to use the pattern in your own way! It also opens up a new world of pattern alterations, without the fear of damaging the original! 2. When you buy a pattern try making it how the instructions are first, get a feel for the garment if it’s not something your familiar with. Then make it your own. 3. Definitely work on adding the built in thread cutter into your work flow! It will take time but it will ultimately save you tons of time and hand cramps! 4. Pockets are hard, I only recently learned about how to properly sew them, I recommend MyFroggyStuff’s video on how to make smart doll shorts! (I don’t remember the exact video but I think it was almost 2 years ago now?) she helped me learn about pockets, I’m sure you’ll be able to scale down her pattern and fit it to your dollies! 5. Sharing the links to all the awesome fabric you have because I’m pretty jealous rn!(maybe a fabric collection video…?) All of this is said with good intent! Again I love your videos and I hope to purchase one of your dolls in the near future! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you! This is actually such great advise! Its weird to be just starting with the machine, but I am having so much fun with it! As for fabric, I dont know if there'd be enough interest for that on main, but sounds like a good video option for my second channel!
That is what I do -- make clothing for my dolls. I love it. Every single day, at least one outfit, maybe two. I even line some of my clothing. So cute and so much fun to create your own style!
I LOVE the fabric you chose! That's another thing that is fun -- buying the fabric for doll clothes. So many pretty prints! You did AWESOME with all of it!
So cute! I love that book! Such a good resource for patterns. I always alter mine too! I made that jacket short and it's V. cute! I love that you made those bloomers into joggers! Def stealing that! There another Hannon book, maybe 2. One may be super new. Also vintage Barbie patterns are where I learned to sew for dolls. Lots of good tips in tricks to make the tiny sewing easier. You can get them digital off of etsy, and resize or alter for whatever you need!
The reason the book patterns are double sided: they are master patterns. This means you dont cut them directly out. You trace with tracing paper. Then you can use it like that or transfer to thicker paper❤❤❤❤❤ i have one of these books. I'm not sure if that is the exact one.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I realize this is an old video and I'm not done watching. And I don't know if there are other videos where you sew from this book again. As I have been working and busy offline for a while❤❤❤
I bought the whole collection of those books! If you have a printer, what I do is scan the pages and I don't take them out of the book just because the book was super rare when I bought it. I would love you to see you do more videos on dolly sewing books. I like watching visuals rather than reading the book 😂 The checkered vest and pants are my fave!!!
Omg everything turned out so cute!!!! Maybe the daisy dress is my favorite 😍 Lomi's playground here on UA-cam has a LOT of free patterns for different size dolls 🥰💕 and her tutorials are really friendly ❤
I CRAVE this book so badly but I'm bad at resizing patterns. Do you think they can be resized for 45cm MSDs and child-like YoSD (mine are both MYOU bodies for now)?
And the awesome thing is, MOST patterns are scalable. So if you got this book and wanted to fit a 60cm+ doll you actually could. Its just a matter of measuring your doll and the pattern to figure out how much you need to scale. I don't know how to do it, I just know its doable, because its also doable in human sizes.
@@TeenyTinkers Yeah I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you get a digital pattern that you can print out yourself. I repeat though, i don't know how to do the scaling. That's something I've not put the effort into learning. .

Thats so awesome!!!! I am slowly going to let my own fashions take over my doll wardrobe I think
I love these books! I usually use printer paper to trace out my patterns so the masters remain in the book. 😋 I lose everything. Lol.
Everyone is saying it and you guys are all so smart because that didnt even occur to me lol
@@TeenyTinkers lol. Girl you was excited!!!! Lol.
Adorable! As soon as I finished this video, I bought the book! The clothes you made are precious. Thanks for recommending this book. :)
Hope you enjoy it!

I love this! I used to sew constantly but I haven’t done it in forever; this has definitely motivated me ^^
You should!

They are all amazing , well don’t for those tricky patterns too 💖

Eee. Trace or photocopy the patterns!!! Keep the originals intact!!
thats.... so smart. Why am i like this.
@@TeenyTinkers Haha. Well, in all fairness, the pieces themselves just beckon to be cut out!! Not unlike paper dolls!
If no tracing paper....use baking paper....it means you can also see the fabric pattern through it incase you wanna line it up a certain way 🥰
I’ve had this book on my Amazon wishlist a long time but haven’t gotten it yet!
its a good one!
I have this book as well, and if you lower the armholes a bit to accomodate the hands and arms, most patternsfor blythe fit yosds as well. ❤
Great tip!

They are all nice ❤
TY!

Go for it!
Hi I also love your dolls ❣️😉
Thank you! 😊

Yeah they definitely can be!
No me puedo creer que hayas arrancado la hoja del libro en vez de calcarla.... ...se me ha subido la tensión... Por favor, la próxima vez cópialos!!
I know! Im sorry!!!

Thats a really good point! I wonder about buying people patterns and scaling them to 1/4?
