I’m an Amazon delivery driver and I’ve had to do garage deliveries a few times. Basically I can open peoples garage doors with the app and set the package inside. Not only am I uncomfortable when I get the sense that the customers are home(or not it’s still weird) but when they already have their garage door open, the app forces me to close the garage to continue. So even though the customer wants their garage door open(because they are home, doing yard work whatever) I have to close their garage to continue. It’s a mechanic that I’ve brought up with the company who hired me(they work for Amazon) but there hasn’t been a change to it. Even if I directly hand the package to the customer, I can’t continue until I open and then close their garage door.
Imagine in the future, When you have your amazon delivery guy, your milkman, your dog walker, your grocery delivery guys... You name it walking around the house like its a circus
I was really just thinking of a second inner door. But of course your house would either have to be designed that way, or you'd have to extend the front door out a bit. Regardless, what is to stop anyone just installing a box on the outside of their property and asking Amazon to install a lock on it?
I put packages in homes often, I have many elderly customers who order things like pet food that come in 30-60lb boxes so I'm more than happy to assist and set it inside for them, I know my customers by name and they know me.
They're probably told not to eat anything given to them as well, for certain reasons such as food spread diseases, poison, and other things you might get from eating strangers' food.
Or Amazon locker which is a pretty great service if you have a location nearby for me i just have them send my packages to a nearby 7/11 were they have an Amazon locker they put it in the locker you go get it whenever
But then you're trusting your package with the post office people instead of the amazon people. Also if you live out of town it could take up to an hour drive to get to the nearest post office.
Matt Bellamy not if it's properly bolted to the floor like a safe. Thief wouldn't make the effort to steal it because the package could be a hair brush or something lol?
I mean, some people have no choice but to get life saving medication delivered to their homes. But in those cases, it should always be signature required or have it delivered to someone you can trust who’s usually home during the day. Or just pick it up from the mail facility. There are other options than letting strangers have complete access to your home.
Good point. Ideally, you'd probably only need a large, locking parcel cabinet outside your home. There already are similar things on the market, but I think the specifications on them aren't yet ideal. But I'm guessing with demand there will be improvements. I imagine the main challenge will be making them not look super ugly.
That’s what I was thinking. Maybe something like a locked in foyer. Amazon could unlock the door to the foyer, but the actual door that got into the house they wouldn’t have access to.
Maze How are they going to do that? First of all they have to know that it isn't empty, then they have to manage to open it without anyone calling the cops.
But if they’re a billion dollar corp what’d they want from ur house lmao. Not really much to gain in the grand scheme of things and that be risking a lot too in terms of legal stuff if they did anything they weren’t meant to.
@@user-ze8fr9wq1t I'm gonna say r/woosh. Think about it a corperation has access to a private house? Ok may not necessarily be bad but YOU are given permission for a stranger to cross the thresold into your house. Now x that buy say 100M homes? ..... What if ur running from the law enforcement is Amazon going to open the door to let them in.? For example..... So many issues with this.
In France we have mail boxes that can be opened by any delivery service to put the packages in. Works most of the time ! We can also send or return a package by putting it in the box and by making a demand on a website, the national post service comes the next day to pick it up
The most shocking part is that no one thought that someone could assault the delivery guy and enter in the house. If I was an Amazon employee, I'd refuse to enter in someone's property no matter what.
@@X.R.808 -- You have to have a doorbell camera, indoor camera, and the bluetooth lock as all work through the Ring app: As stated, the driver is instructed to first ring the doorbell, wait, and when unanswered to THEN unlock and slide it in. Details, bud

Because the point is the final few seconds of the video - Bezos controls your whole life. Not safety or convenience - obviously. Do ya think Bezos is just a real NICE guy? He wants to be even richer than the richest guy on the planet - just getting started, I guess.
It would depend on alot of factors like the size of the box, where would it be installed(mind you not everybody owns a house, it could be an apartment), would the box be bolted on to the floor to stop people from taking the box or will it have gps tracker built in to deter anyone from trying.
I think this could work if you installed a second locked door in front of the other one you only have the key to, leaving only a small room where they could put packages and still prevent porch pirates
2:26 He clearly didn't open the door wide enough to be able to see the cookies sitting there so it's quite silly to say that he didn't take them. You should've tried it a few more times and re-position the cookies to let them see them.
I doubt any sane delivery person would take cookies left for them. It could be considered stealing or they could be poisoned. It's just not worth it for the delivery person to risk.
I think the vast majority of people would not think that way. I live in the UK our people don't go about their daily lives worrying about being involved in homicide all day, whatever profession they're in.

in the Netherlands, you just get a card from the delivery guy that your package has been dropped off at your neighbors. If there are no neighbors at home they just deliver it to you the next day or you can pick it up at a post office. Why don't they just do that?
Auset RGB From my understanding, it's generally small to medium sized items that get stolen. I've never seen a home security video of anyone trying to steal a mattress. Really expensive items (few hundred dollars) require signatures. It won't be left outside your door for thieves.
Dude so here's a fun story: near where I live there was an incident where a friend of my family got the confirmation text with a picture can that their amazon package had arrived. When they got home it wasn't there so they thought it was stolen. but when they watched the neighbors security footage they saw the Amazon guy drive up, set the package on the porch, take a picture, pick it back up and bring it back to the truck, driving away. He was stealing and reselling the packages 🤔🤨😕☹️
@@unknownuser1154 well I don't know if they got it back or not but it depends on if they could identify the guy. I didn't see the video myself but I heard about it from friends and family. I hope they got it back!
Sneakerhead_107 That solves one problem but the bigger issue is giving amazon a monopoly. That is probably fixed by legislation allowing all delivery companies to use the system.
Tom Hadler Yep. I don't give a fuck about the driver robbing me blind, because it's not gonna happen. Only idiots believe it can. What's detrimental to the people, really, is Amazon hurting consumers ability of choice and having a monopoly on this market.
as an amazon driver, i had to do this maybe twice. the first time was creepy only because the homeowners set up a creepy scene inside the garage they had me unlock and walk inside. there were scarecrows set up in various places in the garage each doing human things, one chilling on a couch watching tv, one at a table, one passed out on the floor next to empty beer bottles... and one standing right beside the door staring at me.
Maybe Amazon should sell houses with two doors. The main door that allows only you and Amazon delivery person to enter, and the other door leading into your actual house can only be accessed by you the owner alone.
You don't like it so no one should be able to have it? Here is a solution,, "Don't by what you don't want in your life, only buy what you want and let other do the same".
Same here. And, as far as people who say you should do your thing and let others do theirs … when all the people who like this get their way, then we'll all be in the All-Amazon World, having to do business with them exclusively. Think it can't happen? And I do not like that one bit.

Did an Amazon driver use an Amazon key and leave an oven right inside the front door? I have a hard time believing an item like that would be delivered in such a way.
Ok then. Your mom's oven delivery doesn't apply. The whole point of my idea is to have Amazon lockers instead of Amazon keys. Obviously some special items like ovens won't be available for that kind of delivery.

It would still be on camera and they have to sign into their account with their code on their phone to pair it with your door. This way, Amazon knows the person who is entering, it's not anonymous.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley they can still assess your house for valuables in plain site, and break in using another method on a later date. Since they know the camera is facing the front door, they just stay away from that area of the house.
@@Steph-yz4tn I think if someone is using this, they would also be the kind of consumer who's been in the market for a full home security set. Of course that's not a guarantee, but it would just make sense that if you're going to allow someone access into your house, you'd have a full range of cameras set up to monitor your home, just in case. Also, even if they did come back later, kind of makes it super easy to nail them considering, gee, I just allowed someone remote access to my house and now my house has been broken into! The Amazon delivery person would be the first person I would recommend to the police. Also, I'd almost rather they try to steal something when making a delivery, go ahead and put that klepto in the police dstabase if they weren't already. You have to have some kind of disorder to truly have the nerve to steal something when you know you're on camera, that's someone that just can't help themselves and so the police will help them for them, lol.
That might be a bit difficult because that extra door might get in the way from the sides. If the house has a small enough porch, it will either defeat the purpose of the porch overall, or make it hard to access the sides of it.
Seriously... why not just a big trunk (with that same kind of locking system) on your porch/stoop/walkway that Amazon can put your package(s) into? Letting them have access to your house is just inviting problems.
While the box idea is good for consumers, he said at the end of the video this service is just the beginning. The door access allows other services such as cleaning services and dog walkers to use the same programs which would in turn allow Amazon to make more momey
there's these new things called "P.O. Boxes" taking the world by storm. Some might even say it will revolutionize the logistics industry. But I'm still concerned about not letting a virtually autonomous multi-national company into my home, I mean how creepy is that; my packages are just sitting in a box in the dark all alone by themselves.
You can only get US mail at post office, no FedEx or UPS. Plus, if I'm going to go to the post office to pick something up I'm better off buying whatever it is at the store.
i work for ADT security and this lock probably doesn't pair with our systems (its possible in the future though) but as of now opening the door would set off the alarm.
why not have a separate storage area, like a shed or a storage box and install this lock there? Then there's no access to your home and less to go wrong!
They do offer to drop off your packages at a amazon storage locker. It’s only in some locations, they are located next to quik trip gas stations (if your in the south).
Old neighbor lady calling you 📱 in office: hey sweety you got a lot of people coming in and out of your house, some are leaving stuff and some are taking stuff out, including your dogs..when are you gonna be home??
A better amazon solution would be getting electronic mail chutes. For example, have the mail delivery person put the package in an Amazon Mail Chute (made of something that can't be burglarized easily, for example, glossy finished steel to prevent spraypaint from sticking) and every household will have a physical key to unlock the chute and a digital lock, unlocked by a code on delivery confirmation, to obtain the correct package. For those who say "a hacker can just hack the lock open", the physical key, only obtained by the household owners is the first lock security. And also, if a household attempts to hack the locks, cameras will be built into the mail chute to catch the hacker. The flaw of this is thst there's no physical safety and there's only digital safety.
I see one issue though... what if it’s something large like dog food. It would be difficult to keep tabs on the sizes of boxes and if they would be compatible with your chute. Also chute installation would be costly as you would need to buy and install a new door (or wall depending where the chute is) or cut through your existing door. None of which would be very renter friendly.
decentradical, true. Though, much better than motor locks because all you gotta do for this kind of lock is bash the knob open and reverse the motor current.
You might want to take a look at the current state of home computing and your smartphone before making such a brash statement. If you own a smartphone, whatever brand, a big company already has a CCTV and microphone that follows you around, knows who your friends and family are and more.

Alope_1401 If you could have bought it at the local store, why would you have ordered it in the first place? Your argument makes no sense, unless you can't even leave your own house to go shopping a few minutes away.
I have them in my area. They're amazing. You get a code, tell the computer that controls the lockers your code and the computer unlocks a locker. Your package is inside waiting for you. It's so good.
It probably breaks some terms of service, lol. Can you imagine the email "Amazon has permanently locked your door due to breach of clauses 12.2, 13.1 & 15.6".
Zubeyr Osman Lol Your obviously not from the united states. If you order anything from Alibaba here (if you even are able to contact the seller) and somehow are lucky enough for it to even get through US customs, It would take like a month for it to arrive, sometimes longer. However if you are buying wholesale It actually can be somewhat useful. I know this because Im a young entrepreneur and I buy Wholesale on Alibaba from time to time.
So Amazon wants to listen to everything you say in your own home with Alexa. Now they want access into your homes with the lock systems + security camera. Na forget that.
I'm surprised letterboxes aren't being sold that take parcels into consideration. Given that letters are on the decline and parcels are on the rise, there are plenty of solutions that allow one-way parcel insertion.
Where I live in Germany, they don’t put the packages in front of the door, just if you text them online to do so. Either you take it after they rang the bell 3 times or they take it to the main package station in your city... and sometimes they give it to your neighbor.
I feel like this would be a lot less creepy as an external package lockbox or if the homes had a small mudroom with a second door (what tons of other places have)
Exactly. If you have a sort of "lobby" or foyer you could let the delivery person in just enough to leave the package, without any risk of invasion of privacy. And if it became the norm that everybody has a kind of "visitor's area" before entering a home proper, I think the delivery people would be a lot less uncomfortable about it, too. As an agoraphobe I can definitely see the convenience of having a package delivered directly to my home, not even requiring me to open the door for it. But the setup would have to be flawless.
That doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all, specially with musicians, you might need that extra set of damn strings or cable of some sort and you are in middle of a gig and it gets delivered straight to you

People talking about the door getting hacked... if someone wants go steal something in your home... trust me hacking your door is the 8th best option...
Ohhhh, this sounds like a great idea done in a really dumb way. It doesn't take the customer or worker safety into account properly. First suggestion: locked large mailbox outside the property. Second suggestion: keycode assigned to activate from the delivery van via satellite or similar, NOT a physical key (harder to mug someone for a van and when stolen, it's easier to find them, also protects the worker more). Third suggestion: regular route and assigned delivery area for drivers (so if someone is leaking keycodes for theft somehow, it's easier to track). Fourth suggestion: let delivery drivers take comfort breaks, give them time to rest in their shifts so they can eat, grab a coffee and go to restrooms! Fifth suggestion: if a driver hasn't made their assigned times: track traffic congestion via Google maps or similar, collate with driver data. I hope they think this through a whole lot more. I wouldn't use it.
In the UK..if you are not home when your parcel arrives they don't leave it on your doorstep..sometimes they will try a neighbour to see if they will take it in for you,or arrange another delivery,or leave a card to say its at a local depot where you can pick it up.
It was kind of relieving to see people not even look inside of your house, instead they just acted like they were handing off a toilet paper roll to somebody who’s using the bathroom without any toilet paper.
max powers Oh I’m sorry for not listening to what he says. I’m more concerned about other problems in the world such as war, famine, draught, illnesses and endangered wildlife, and how I can help them.
I saw something called Boxlock a while ago that allows delivery people to unlock a container on your porch once by scanning the package, then locking it inside the container. Seems a bit more practical than a dedicated delivery shed :P
In Canada, they just leave a post office note and drop off your package at the nearest post office for you to pick up at a later date if you're not home to get your package, haha.
Slade Belmont yeah, that happens all the time here. Happened to me a week ago when I was waiting for my new Internet modem, lol. Home all day, and nobody rung the doorbell or knocked
Geert van 't Zand yeah I don't understand how in the US they just freaking leave it at the porch. Countless of deliveries get stolen that way, I'd be too anxious to buy anything. Paying Amazon $200 just so they can get into my house, lmfao.
Universe Artist And in some cases, the delivery guys will toss the item toward the porch. I get it, they sometimes have packed schedules to keep, but they can't just be tossing the item.
mirmirs Because then they wouldn't have access to your house. The release of this is all to convenient timed with the rest of the privacy invasion going on.
You could place it on a shed or little box no doubt, and amazon would probably allow that as an option. But a lot of people don't want a safe or shed on their porch that stands out like a wildfire.
I'd rather just open a P.O box or some sort of postage hold service depending on where you live. That way I can use that for more then just Amazon. I can use it for all postal deliveries.
Or you could just ask whomever service that is delivering the package to hold it for you at a nearby facility and go pick it up if you are worried about thieves
Ummm where I live ppl get their houses get broken into so much that someone opening ur door that's not u, will most likely get u shot soooooo, honestly just go pick up ur package from the post office lmao
This does work but not for everyone. For someone like me that works 10:30-7 (sometimes sooner or later) and the mail generally comes between 11 and 1 and the post office closes at 5 and the UPS store closes at 6...this is impossible. When you get a package, most people try to get it to you before 5 no later than 8. So if you live on a main street or a busy neighborhood package theives are a real threat. I personally wouldn't get this key (Ii do love shopping with amazon though) but i definitely understand why it would be such a big hit and well needed.
I think a better idea will be to make a decent sized box that can be screwed onto your porch that has this lock on it so you don’t have to fear someone stealing our things
They would never use amazon for that. When they intend to enter a property they do not want people know that they are coming and if amazon knows this then the target of the warrant could become aware.

I'd be willing to own a secure box that Amazon has a key to. But not if I live in that box.
MotionGaming I agree with that. Why let them into my house when they could easily just have a box outside my house that can be locked and unlocked.
MotionGaming I didn't even know of this key and have wanted a box like that for years
OMG WHY DIDN'T THEY THINK OF THIS!!!!

Nice idea bro I get what you're saying but think about the extra costs and labor that comes along
For added security, you could install a web activated landmine in the floor just inside your door.

Or Amazon locker which is a pretty great service if you have a location nearby for me i just have them send my packages to a nearby 7/11 were they have an Amazon locker they put it in the locker you go get it whenever
Because the post office treats people like dirt, holds packages hostage demanding addition payment on amazon packages, and their hours suck.
WTF ISthis that's if the post office is close by. My local post office is a 20 minute drive just to get there haha .
But then you're trusting your package with the post office people instead of the amazon people. Also if you live out of town it could take up to an hour drive to get to the nearest post office.

no package is so important that I let a stranger open the door to my house in my absence...
I mean, some people have no choice but to get life saving medication delivered to their homes. But in those cases, it should always be signature required or have it delivered to someone you can trust who’s usually home during the day. Or just pick it up from the mail facility.
There are other options than letting strangers have complete access to your home.
then dont order nun
Just have your package delivered to the garage door. Amazon can open it through the rabbit app.
Exactly this is just dumb.
Amazon is the stranger though if you think about it.
I feel like home builders are going to start building separate, locked rooms to accommodate a lot of these new intrusions.

That’s clever.
I think this could work if you installed a second locked door in front of the other one you only have the key to, leaving only a small room where they could put packages and still prevent porch pirates

I feel like this would work similarly to those electric trash cans. I can never work those things.. :/
Far more expensive to burglarproof it though.

John Doe no I have everything as basic as possible people think i'm paranoid but I'd rather do the extra work instead of having anything synchronised or able the track me. Your privacy is all you really have and I value mine a friend tried to sell me his alexa I just laughed.
Lol ikr i'm gonna come home from work and get a text from amazon that says Welcome home Luke how was work?
Thats a bad idea. Never let someone in your house when you know someone is going to get you.
I respect the fact that the dude was honest about the amazon owner also owns the Washington Post. All in all i think this is a fair review, would never get the amazon lock myself, but the review was still good
What law is that? Federal or state? Who enforces this?
Sir_Stromming I would put a false door.
This way my package is secure inside my house but nobody can actually enter my house without the key.
Sir_Stromming huh?! 😃😁😁
I'd much better prefer a store pickup... Like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc. Or those Amazon boxes they already have at some locations
TopFurret well if you have to go to the store to pick it up what was the whole point you could have bought it while in Wal Mart
Alope_1401 If you could have bought it at the local store, why would you have ordered it in the first place? Your argument makes no sense, unless you can't even leave your own house to go shopping a few minutes away.
VoxelFusion dumb
I have them in my area. They're amazing. You get a code, tell the computer that controls the lockers your code and the computer unlocks a locker. Your package is inside waiting for you. It's so good.
Gabbiadini not amazon packages well walmart can ship their packages to home or deliver it to the nearest store to pick it up
Easy solution. Dont put it on your door! Install a small shed/mailbox for packages and put the lock on that. Easy-peazy
It probably breaks some terms of service, lol. Can you imagine the email "Amazon has permanently locked your door due to breach of clauses 12.2, 13.1 & 15.6".
HIRE THIS GUY
Zubeyr Osman Lol Your obviously not from the united states. If you order anything from Alibaba here (if you even are able to contact the seller) and somehow are lucky enough for it to even get through US customs, It would take like a month for it to arrive, sometimes longer. However if you are buying wholesale It actually can be somewhat useful. I know this because Im a young entrepreneur and I buy Wholesale on Alibaba from time to time.
Congratulations! You are the first persons to come up with this idea!
Zubeyr Osman Amazon Vs Alibaba
American Vs Chinese
Who will win?
So Amazon wants to listen to everything you say in your own home with Alexa. Now they want access into your homes with the lock systems + security camera. Na forget that.
If people were not concerned before, they sure should be now with what is happening in Canada. When will people just wake up?
@lusu6804. Exactly! 💯
I'll pass on this one.
Why not make a strong box outside the door instead?? Like Amazon Box or some stuff like that
What's stopping anyone from going away with the entire box
Get outta here with your perfectly sensible solution!
I'm surprised letterboxes aren't being sold that take parcels into consideration. Given that letters are on the decline and parcels are on the rise, there are plenty of solutions that allow one-way parcel insertion.
Shubham Jain Build it into the wall with one "outside door" and one you can access from inside the house.
Where I live in Germany, they don’t put the packages in front of the door, just if you text them online to do so. Either you take it after they rang the bell 3 times or they take it to the main package station in your city... and sometimes they give it to your neighbor.
probably same all over Europe t. Russia
same in england where i live
I live in Germany too and those dhl motherfuckers sometimes leave my Package infront my door i was furious
Selin Karasu where I live they mostly leave it at the door without knocking and if they don't they knock once wait 3 seconds then leave at front door.
Hail Amazon! lol
What next? Delivery Drones that locate you and bring the package to you if you're not home?
Swagsy that actually sounds like a possible device
That doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all, specially with musicians, you might need that extra set of damn strings or cable of some sort and you are in middle of a gig and it gets delivered straight to you
Swagsy Yes.
Amazon needs to hire u
thats an awesome idea bro
You buy a new towel
You go take a shower
You hear your front door open
You hurry to go check who it is but you realise you left your towel in the room
You open the toilet door and your local delivery man wraps you in your new towel
*" shh, this is our new service "*
Your toilet has a door?
instant rock hard
@@UnknownGamer40464 whoaaaa there buddy
@@PANZERFAUST90 you know what they mean XD
Thank you for the honest review despite who owns The Post!!
Stan B Who exactly?
James CyberLink the CEO of Amazon. He literally said it in the video omg
Usman Sabir He has a Minecraft profile pic what do you expect lol
SergeThurain I simply didn't catch that when I watched the video that first time.
honest my ass! This was basically an ad.
Camera or not, I would never let a complete stranger in my house. You can’t trust anyone these days
I'd rather a package stolen off my porch than Amazon coming into my house.
I swear people's stupidity never ceases to amaze me
Yeah i Will tell Alexa to remind me
In the UK..if you are not home when your parcel arrives they don't leave it on your doorstep..sometimes they will try a neighbour to see if they will take it in for you,or arrange another delivery,or leave a card to say its at a local depot where you can pick it up.
@@annmitchell4663 Like normal people. Americans just make me scratch my head that they think boxes just left at your doorstep was ever okay.
@@melkhiordarkfell4354 umm excuse you?
Good till hackers get ahold of the software, then sell criminals a set of keys to your house
I think a smarter idea would be for Amazon to come out with an electronic smart lock box that people could put on their porch.
phototristan smartttt with a gps tracker so nobody can take it
It was kind of relieving to see people not even look inside of your house, instead they just acted like they were handing off a toilet paper roll to somebody who’s using the bathroom without any toilet paper.
There are cameras in and outside the door. Its creepy AF.
Ok so basically amazon wants world domination
max powers Oh I’m sorry for not listening to what he says. I’m more concerned about other problems in the world such as war, famine, draught, illnesses and endangered wildlife, and how I can help them.
I SHIP LUCAS AND NCT DREAM lol.... Google and disney are miles ahead in that race
I SHIP LUCAS AND NCT DREAM Well they need to get in line behind Google Skynet, first! 😁😁
I SHIP LUCAS AND NCT DREAM you are totaly right
This comment is even better with that pfp
Ya I want people that will go as far as fake delivering items they know are valuable to have access to my home in any way.
Hey, what if the lock was on like... A shed, rather than your house? A packaging shed. Just for the more paranoid users.
Cosmic Kitty That's actually an amazing idea
Yup, a walk-in mailbox essentially with no access to your home or personal information. Perfect
Isnt that basically just a post office?
I saw something called Boxlock a while ago that allows delivery people to unlock a container on your porch once by scanning the package, then locking it inside the container. Seems a bit more practical than a dedicated delivery shed :P
No. A post office isn't conveniently located at your house, where you go every day, and you'll probably have to queue at a post office.
Gets fired...
Joseph Roberson he 've left cookies for the amazon mail guy so that saved his ass
In Canada, they just leave a post office note and drop off your package at the nearest post office for you to pick up at a later date if you're not home to get your package, haha.
peblezQ Same in France, people are going crazy because of postman not even ringing and just leaving the message
Slade Belmont yeah, that happens all the time here. Happened to me a week ago when I was waiting for my new Internet modem, lol. Home all day, and nobody rung the doorbell or knocked
Slade Belmont Same in Austria
The point of paying for shipping is the convenience of having it delivered to your house.
Same in Finland.
Don't get it twisted, if they are "watching the delivery person" they are also watching YOU!
Here they ring the doorbell. No one home? You can pick it up at the nearest supermarket by showing your ID.
Geert van 't Zand or they are delivering it at your neightbors
Just do amazon locker
A lot smarter and safer.
Why won't there just be a box/shed with a lock or something just for amazon employees to put packages in ?
mirmirs Because then they wouldn't have access to your house. The release of this is all to convenient timed with the rest of the privacy invasion going on.
AmbSwizag so you want them in your house
You could place it on a shed or little box no doubt, and amazon would probably allow that as an option. But a lot of people don't want a safe or shed on their porch that stands out like a wildfire.
It’s called amazon locker.
Martin de Vries just have a small box with the lock on, prolly inexpensive especially if you are willing to pay for this equiptment in the first place
I'd rather just open a P.O box or some sort of postage hold service depending on where you live. That way I can use that for more then just Amazon. I can use it for all postal deliveries.
burns0100 pretty good idea to be honest
Parcel Motel ftw
It irks you dont already have it. Thats what happens in Norway.
Amazon lockers widely available and super convenient. Wont' work with very large packages though, such as ordering a full size vacuum cleaner.
The post office told me that P.O boxes doesn't work with Amazon because it has to be through usps
Lol if you get locked out of your home just order something that is same day shipping and wait at the door
Or you could just ask whomever service that is delivering the package to hold it for you at a nearby facility and go pick it up if you are worried about thieves
But then I’d have to actually go outside. Nooooooo
whoever*
Could be up to an hour drive just to get to the facility, besides that's a logistical nightmare.
Why when all you have to do is have a security box bolted in outside then amazon could just leave it outside in a security box.
Uhh.. no thank you. Still dont trust it

What an amazing intrusion of privacy and security option for people!
I think a better idea will be to make a decent sized box that can be screwed onto your porch that has this lock on it so you don’t have to fear someone stealing our things
time is ticking till the first time the FBI forces amazon to let them in to search a suspect's house.
They would never use amazon for that.
When they intend to enter a property they do not want people know that they are coming and if amazon knows this then the target of the warrant could become aware. That may sound silly but when they are a drug king or a kidnapper they do not want anybody to know.
The time has already ticked where they can just pick a normal lock without asking another company.
Well...they already use DNA ancestry results to find criminals related to you.
THIS! Sadly, this...
@@bighands69 - Well, in the fantasy world where the govt abides by the laws they set, yes! But, unfortunately here in the real world we live in, where it sets laws as a mere veil, it's a moot point. For example, they don't need a warrant for a wiretap - any law enforcement unit can (does n has!) just setup a Stingray nearby (which is essentially a fake cell tower) n boom: they got voice CALLS, TEXTS n ALL DATA FROM EVERYONE in the vicinity of the target phone. JUST BEING WITHIN A CERTAIN RADIUS OF A SUSPECT N YOU'RE A VICTIM TOO!!!
I really liked how you mentioned that Amazon owns WP to give full disclosure, and that you also seemed to give a very unbiased/impartial and helpful review with good evidence. Great reporting work.
Seriously. Glad to see there is still some journalistic integrity out there.
I think a better solution be is you get s special mail box with the same Locking tech that they can just drop the packages into
