Enough, energy applied at the surface of a planet, to cause all the material of that planet to overcome a planet's worth of gravity? I'd say he pulled all his factoids out of his arse just to keep the video pipeline going.
It is true that Tsar bombas energy release would be comparable to big earth quake. Like say 8 to 9 richter scale, but in the video it would cause 12:s all over the world. Richter scale is logarithmic scale so it would be like 1000 times stronger, lol :) Also considering those tsunamis: Energy release in earthquakes are mechanical so it is more efficient at producing tsunamis than nuclear bomb, which release a big portion of its energy in heat and radiation, which just steams the water. So its no to all those megaubertsunamis all over the world. Rest of the earths crust puncturing hallucinations are just total b***s**t.
I was sceptical at best for most of the video but when he claimed a small bomb could push the whole world by any appreciable amount such that we would "fry" or "freeze" is ludicrous.

Cool video idea but it's super exaggerated. Probably the worst bit was the change in the Earth's orbit which is physically impossible according to Newton's laws, unless unbelievable amounts of mass were ejected into space (which didn't happen even when the Tsar Bomba was detonated on the surface). But here's the rest... The Tsar bomba is 50 million tonnes TNT yield. The earthquake which caused the 2004 Boxing day tsunami (9.1-9.3) was an order of magnitude more powerful (for example you could expect a 9.0 and a 10.0 magnitude earthquake to release a 500 Million and 15 Billion TNT equivalent worth of energy respectively). The wave height for the 2004 tsunami was about 30m or 100ft at its maximum, not quite 400ft. The effects of a deap sea explosion are minimal due water being incompressible, meaning it absorbs amounts of energy when displaced. Additionally the deep trench the explosion would be located in would likely absorb most of the shockwave energy, probably resulting in storm level waves, hardly "washing away South-East Asia". The Earths crust weighs (very roughly) 250,000,000,000,000,000,000,000kg, suggesting a relatively small energy release would cause the convergence or divergence of two continental plates is fairly (extremely) bold claim. Finally suggesting that will result in a chain reaction causing 12.0 Earthquakes is a bit off a piss-take. That's a 15 Trillion tonne TNT energy release per earthquake, about 300,000 times more powerful than your inital explosion per Earthquake. And apparently that will carry on for a month. From a single explosion. Finally, punching the whole in the crust and causing a magma fountain?! Blowing through a few kilometres of crust is not going to happen anytime soon, sorry.

I dont mean to nitpick, but I've always heard a tzar bomba exploding that deep underwater wouldnt do much more than make some bubbles at the surface of the ocean
Yeah, it takes a lot of energy to really displace enough water in the ocean to cause a tsunami. A bomb (even this big) down in water that deep... I dont think it will do that much.
Same.. If one strong shake would set the entire system into doomsday Then shouldn't this have already happened it is the ring of fire, there's constantly powerful earthquakes releasing more energy then a tsar bomba going off and not ending the world. (By constantly I mean geological time)
Yeah, plenty of nucs have been blown up way out in the ocean, and some did create a surge but tidal waves that will destroy the west coast, Japan etc.? Yeah the bullshit flag has been raised.
Same thing. Even a 68 MT bomb is NOTHING compared to the sheer size of forces the Earth puts up with. The gravitational pull of the moon would have caused greater effects than this if this was such a weak point and/or tidal waves could be so easily effected. The 2003 tsunami was produced by an earthquake that was estimated to be between 2.5-5 gigatons. That is approximately the global nuclear yield. And it STILL did not produced NEAR the effects described, even though the yield is 50x Tsar Bomba
Basic intuition and reasoning tells me that a single nuclear bomb, even if it's the largest nuclear bomb ever tested, is not going to be capable of causing the largest tsunami in recorded human history by orders of magnitude. We know that the two large tsunamis that happened in the last two decades were caused by earthquakes that released orders of magnitude *more* energy than the tsar bomba. Necessarily the tsar bomba would cause a tsunami orders of magnitude smaller than those tsunamis (if you could even call it a tsunami at that point). This "tsunami" would maybe cause the water to rise a few *inches* at shore (and that's probably still being generous), not hundreds of feet. We also know that hydrogen bombs that were only about 10 times less powerful than the tsar bomba were tested underwater on multiple occasions. If the tsar bomba would cause a wave crashing on shore across the entire Pacific hundreds of feet high, why wouldn't have these ones caused waves tens of feet high all across the Pacific? They in fact caused no noticeable waves accept on islands that were within tens of miles of the detonation. TL;DR shits all retarded Edit: God dammit, I wrote this outraged comment after pausing way too early in the video. Clearly this is a farce. Anyways I gotta go, I have a very strongly worded letter to the editor of The Onion I need to complete.
Exactly. This is nonsense. The pressure at this depth would keep most of it under control. It should also be noted, we detonated numerous nuclear bombs - while not as large, still very powerful - underwater without so much as any tsunamis whatsoever forming.
MacK Olives except we’ve tested Hydrogen bombs underwater. And water pressure did have an impact. Yes it make a massive spout... but little more. Nothing globally impactful
Hey dog ran some basic numbers, biggest underwater nuclear detonation was 30kt ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underwater_explosion#Deep_nuclear_explosions ), but most were under 20kt. Minimum yield of the Tsar was 50Mt with a maximum of 100Mt. At minimum the Tsar was 2500x more powerful and at maximum 5000x more powerful. Even if the wave was only something like 4 inches (.25 feet) at a 20kt blast, thats anywhere from a 625 - 1250 ft wave from the Tsar. Spooky big. Actually just looking up "do deep nuclear explosions create waves" in google yields a bunch of well cited easy reads on it that state that there are, in fact, no waves produced from such a blast, rather just a bunch of hot water left over ( what-if.xkcd.com/15/ ). Edit - links are now clickable
B.S. The Tsar bomb won't do this, Its too small of an explosion for the size of the earth. Its like saying that a firecracker exploded at the basement of the Empire State building will cause fires, roof collapses and mayhem on the top floors of the building.
A single spark from a cigarette or a piece of glass from a broken glass can cause a huge catastrophic forest fire... or achille’s heel.. whatever, i am confued.
Distant Bells that's different for some reason because of causation. It's rare even for the fact of the common amount of this. Lots of people smoke, like, millions, and to that only about a hundred forest fires are caused by that. One tsar bomb means the chances are very unlikely, this paired with the size of the Earth.
The Tsar Bomba also had is yield cut in half due to concerns the pilot wouldn't be able to outrun the bomb so if the full yield (110 Megaton) was used this would be very easy to achieve, even at half its output you are directing an immense amount of force at a strategically weak and fragile area of the earth
That is still incorrect as you are comparimg a general surface impact to a strategically placed impact. Think of the techtonic plates as the weakest spot on earth, somewhere where a decent enough hit can cause a chain reaction an impact on the surface would have to be substantialy larger to have the same efffect as it would have to penetrate 15km downwards whereas on the trench it has to penetrate far less as it is already so far down in comparison.
Finally there is the possibility that so powerfull an explosion at the location of an intelligence void will simply tear the channel itself apart! The fate of ridddles channel in that scenario is easy to see...
So a nuke can cause 400 foot tsunamis on the open ocean but a subduction earthquake can't? I don't think so. The effects of this scenario are WAY overestimated. Nukes are powerful to us, but are insignificant when it comes to their possible effects on the oceans or the tectonics of the entire planet.
why do you think it`s insignificant? energy of explosion is 58MT in TNT, this can be compared to 8.3-8.4(Richter) earthquake. However, in wiki i found this: "...Using the conventional specific energy of TNT (4.184 MJ/kg), the above formula implies that about 0.5% of the bomb's energy is converted into radiated seismic energy. For real underground nuclear tests, the actual seismic efficiency achieved varies significantly and depends on the site and design parameters of the test" In that case, seismic energy will be equal to an earthquake with magnitude 6.8-6.9(Richter). But in video he said about very spesific place with good conditions, so i think effect can be much stronger. upd: new continents and orbit change are fairy tales, of course
about new continent - not really. If it were to break earth crust, the pressure from within the earth outter layer is quite high, thus shooting out a lot of magma, which when cooled would form... well, not a continent sized island, but something like two madagascars at most
Piet Andersen In order to "blow up" the Earth you would need to, at a minimum, overcome it's gravitational binding energy. This is the potential energy of the Earth's gravitational force acting on itself that keeps it all together as one planet. I looked up the energy requirements on Wikipedia and you would need approximately 1 quadrillion Tsar bombs to overcome the gravitational binding energy of the Earth.
It wasn't "fantasy" when I first saw it, they initially tried to pass this off as legitimate science. It was changed to "fantasy" after they started losing subscribers because of the backlash, with people complaining about the grotesque inaccuracies all over. It's one of the reasons I stopped paying attention to this channel. I came here to see what people were saying about the much more scientifically accurate video by Kurzgesagt(which is obviously poking fun at this channel) dealing with this same scenario.
400 foot tsunamis crashing around the entire Pacific Ring of Fire? Ummm, nope. You are just a *little* shy of the energy you need: the Tsar Bomba was 58 *megatons* ...the total work energy released by, for example, the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake (also known as the Christmas or Boxer Day earthquake and tsunamis) was equivalent to 9,600 *gigatons* of TNT...just a bit shy, wouldn't you say? (powers of tens, folks-9600 gigatons equals *9,600,000* megatons.) That's the kind of energies you need to move enough mass to create the devastating tsunamis of the 2004 earthquake, the highest of which reached nearly an astounding 100 feet. Create 400-foot tsunamis from Tsar Bomba? Riiiiiiight... :)
The assumption is that a "measly" (lol!) Tsar Bomba has enough energy to set off this kind of catastrophic tectonic movement. Sorry, been studying geology my whole life, and I just don't buy it. I don't think most people realize the incredible masses and energies involved with plate tectonics and how strike-slip and thrust faults work. Sure, yes, a big bomb could *theoretically* set off a quake -- heck, fracking can do that -- but the hypothesis of this video is just over-the-top, science fiction movie stuff. The whole Ring of Fire going nuts because of a quake there? ? C'mon! Again, people have no idea mass/energy magnitudes involved, and the stupendous tectonic plates couldn't move like this video suggests unless, perhaps, a fantastically huge asteroid hit the middle of the Pacific. Look, the Marianas Trench area is *not* some ticking time bomb waiting to go off, but there are megathrust faults in the Western Pacific, like the one that created the tsunamis of 2011 Tōhoku earthquake, which are fearsome indeed. Maybe the maths here will explain better why this Tsar Bomba hypothesis doesn't work-because it's about WORK, moving mass: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_(physics)#Work_and_energy
Here's a pretty good explanation of what would happen from this website "what-if.xkcd.com/15/" Here it is for you lazy people: "The explosion at the bottom of the Mariana Trench will create a quickly-expanding spherical cavity of hot steam. To figure out how big it gets, we can try a formula from the 1971 paper Evaluation of Various Theoretical Models For Underwater Explosion: Radius=(34π)13(40%×53 megatons of TNT Mariana Trench pressure+1 ATM)13≈580 meters The bubble grows to about a kilometer across in a couple of seconds. The water above bulges up, though only slightly, over a large area. Then the pressure from that six miles of water overhead causes it to collapse. Within a dozen or so seconds, the bubble shrinks to a minimum size, then ‘bounces’ back, expanding outward again. It goes through three or four cycles of this collapse and expansion before disintegrating into, in the words of the 1996 report, “a mass of turbulent warm water and explosion debris.” According to the report, as a result of such a deep-water closed bubble creation and dissipation, “no wave of any consequence will be generated.” That “turbulent warm water” is actually quite substantial. The rising column of heat creates a hot spot in the ocean-many degrees warmer than the surrounding water-that lingers for some time. Earlier this year, Severe Tropical Storm Sanvu passed over the Mariana Trench. The column of deep, hot water from our nuke could conceivably have been enough to strengthen it into a typhoon, much as the deep warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico’s Loop Current sometimes cause hurricanes to rapidly intensify. In addition to the heat energy from the water, Sanvu could whip up a spray containing fallout from the blast, and approach Iwo Jima as a radioactive whirlwind. Of course, that’s getting a little far-fetched. In the absence of an improbable typhoon interaction, the overall effect of the bomb isn’t quite as dramatic as Evin might have imagined..."

Almost all of the information in this video is so blatantly inaccurate that's it's painful to watch. To start, it states that the half-life of uranium is 2000 years which is so wildly incorrect that he could go on to tell me the sky is blue and I would be doubtful of it. Also, on the geological and oceanic side of things, a bomb of that size is no where near the power needed to shatter faults or create some "apocalyptic" tsunami scenario. I don't believe that any research was done prior to the creation of this video and I hope you all are intelligent enough to see that this video exists simply to create some sort of "shock and awe" scenario in order to pray on uninformed individuals.
Mega Halo Productions So what's even the point of the video, if they're not talking about what would happen if an actual 50MT bomb were detonated? Either A: They just threw in "fantasy, not science" to cover their asses when people started pointing out how inaccurate the information in this video is (which is the most likely, since the waybackmachine shows that this video didn't say "just fantasy" in the title or description when it was uploaded web.archive.org/web/20180113002614/ua-cam.com/video/A7eb1DHZ9GQ/v-deo.html) B: They were referring to the scenario itself as fantasy, but not the statistics and facts, which would still make the facts presented in the video incorrect. or C: They are talking about a fantasy world in which uranium has a longer half life, and single 50MT bomb at the bottom of the ocean can almost wipe out human civilization, which would make the video a complete waste of time.
nah don't worry, the bomb they are making is less powerful than the us and russia is created during cold war (around 1 hiroshima sized bombs). and getting out of the orbit by that bomb is very unlikely
Yeah, but no...This entire video is just fiction. Whilst insanely powerful, the tsar bomb would not result in this at all. The top 10 earth quakes have all released more than twice the amount of energy in a Tsar bomba. But why trust me? This has already been investigated in 1996. And I quote: "The bubble grows to about a kilometer across in a couple of seconds. The water above bulges up, though only slightly, over a large area. Then the pressure from that six miles of water overhead causes it to collapse. Within a dozen or so seconds, the bubble shrinks to a minimum size, then ‘bounces’ back, expanding outward again. Maximilian Wicén I agree, this video is bullcrap, that unfortunately many people buy into. But I think they where right about the earth quakes, in principle. I'm sure, not about the strength of the effect, but still about the effect itself. A huge disturbance between two crusts can unleash the energy that is bound within the tension between them. I heard this is also an issue when it comes to fracking. (Or I guess it was fracking, if I'm not mistaken) That it can trigger slight earth quakes above active zones.
They have a similar video equating the energy released by a landslide in a shallow bay, with a landslide in the open ocean. They failed to see that the bay example was like dropping a boulder in a bathtub, and the open ocean example would be like dropping the same boulder in a lake. Nowhere near the same result.
Very much so agreed, whoever did this video severely fubared on the math. When it started going on about knocking the earth out of orbit, my eyes rolled out of my head almost!
hell not even 100 nukes of that size would cost the effects described here. it would take a lot more energy in one place to cause that much damage, like 10,000 nukes or even more.
Those who are defending this video based on its title, please know that the 'fantasy not science' title was not before. That is the reason for all the hate.
Darth Vader Cody did the debunk a few weeks ago but it was only a patreon vid because he wanted to do a better one. But since kurzg was released he decided to just put it up as is.
Friendly reminder that before Kurzgesagt video, this video didn't have "(Just Fantasy, not science!)" in the title, nor " I hope everyone understood where science ends and fantasy begins?)" in the description. They tried to pass this as legitimate science, and I remember downvoting it months ago.
I get that this is a joke but the video gives no clear indication of its satirical nature (being that its not funny) and is just spreading misinformation.
Normally your videos are somewhat accurate but this is complete nonsense. Do a quick search of operation Wigwam where the US government actually tested nuclear devices under water. The conclusion was that if that initial gas expansion of the blast doesn't reach the surface there will be no wave. For depths greater than several thousand feet the pressure is so great that it, coupled with Rayleigh-Taylor instability, makes virtually all blasts completely dampened by the ocean. Also simple energy conservation can show the stupidity of these large waves produced by the bomb itself.
They experimented with setting off stupid amount of TNT to cause a tsunami during WWII... it never happened. The amount of energy required is just so boggling that it makes a nuke look like a pea shooter.
+The PC Dude "Speculation" doesn't mean making up a bunch of shit and passing it off as fact. That's called "fraud." This fraudster made up a bunch of bullshit to get views from uneducated idiots.
This is ludicrous. The real answer is the ocean would "burp" and nothing much would happen because the water pressure is so immense it would compress the explosion.
lol one it's all theoretically possible but yes they would need a bigger bomb. to get those reactions the bomb would have to double in size if not more plus be detonated underwater to cause the explosion

TheWolfy yeah not really. A single trident missile could do much more damage. The tzar is incredibly outdated and dosent really pose a threat compared to modern MIRVS
Here's the math good sir for why you are incorrect 50 megatons TNT = 154298001628803936 lbs . The earth weighs . 13,170,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 000 lbs . The bomb is . 1.17158695*10^(-10) . Or . 0.000000000117158695% of the earths mass! . DO YOU THINK SOMETHING SO RELITAVILY SMALL WOULD MAKE A REAL, noticeable DIFFERENCE??? . NO! .
Mt. Krakatoa eruption resulted in 200 megatons of TNT equivalent, about 4 times that of Bomba. 2004 Indian ocean earthquake was 9,600,000 megatons (9,600 gigatons). To say that paltry 50 Mt nuke will result in global catastrophe is laughable even if that's in deepest ocean.
it isn't just a matter of how big the explosion is, but where its located. Mt Krakatoa caused a 2 year winter. It did so with only the so2 it released. IF the bomb was dropped that deep and super heated all that water, it would do some serious problems.

Yeah, I was checking the date to see if it was posted April 1st, but sadly no.
Yep, seems largely made up to me. Enough directed energy to move an entire planet out of the habitable zone?
Yep it is.....it was painful to watch.

The earthquake that caused the 2004 tsunami was actually 26.3 Megatons, or a little more than half of the Tsar bomb

Yeah, but this still seems worth testing.
Same.. If one strong shake would set the entire system into doomsday
Then shouldn't this have already happened it is the ring of fire, there's constantly powerful earthquakes releasing more energy then a tsar bomba going off and not ending the world.
Imagine getting fact checked by a scientific bird and try to save face by saying it's all fantasy.
Isn’t that kurgegzast
Also, following up the “ Just Fantasy, not science” meme. Kurzgesagt changed there title to “ Actually Science, not fantasy”
I FIND THIS HILARIOUS 😂
TL;DR shits all retarded
Edit: God dammit, I wrote this outraged comment after pausing way too early in the video. Clearly this is a farce. Anyways I gotta go, I have a very strongly worded letter to the editor of The Onion I need to complete.
OK
Nothing globally impactful
thank you!
Man, well.....WTC7 got expl....ahem.....somehow destroyed by "fire" and "flying parts" ....sooooooo

@@gormoth-5330 no the water pressure doesn't exist because god said so in my brain.
For me it was a huge bullshit moment when he told us that nearly half of the world will be underwater ..
Even the power to destroy a planet is insignificant compared to the power of the force...
grantsdaman01 d
why do you think it`s insignificant?
energy of explosion is 58MT in TNT, this can be compared to 8.3-8.4(Richter) earthquake.
However, in wiki i found this: "...Using the conventional specific energy of TNT (4.184 MJ/kg), the above formula implies that about 0.5% of the bomb's energy is converted into radiated seismic energy. For real underground nuclear tests, the actual seismic efficiency achieved varies significantly and depends on the site and design parameters of the test"
In that case, seismic energy will be equal to an earthquake with magnitude 6.8-6.9(Richter).
But in video he said about very spesific place with good conditions, so i think effect can be much stronger.
upd: new continents and orbit change are fairy tales, of course
about new continent - not really. If it were to break earth crust, the pressure from within the earth outter layer is quite high, thus shooting out a lot of magma, which when cooled would form... well, not a continent sized island, but something like two madagascars at most

cefarix Actually I unsubscribed from Ridddle because he made such bullshit videos, but I am interested in the actual science.

Kurzgesagt: *"A great place for our nuclear test!"*
RichardFeynmanRules The energy isn't coming from the bomb directly, it's coming from the potential energy released by the two tectonic plates, so no?

More than you
LaBorah Crawford What does being a rocket scientist have to due with things you learn in high school?
Well how do you know it's wrong explain?
Here's a pretty good explanation of what would happen from this website "what-if.xkcd.com/15/" Here it is for you lazy people:
"The explosion at the bottom of the Mariana Trench will create a quickly-expanding spherical cavity of hot steam. To figure out how big it gets, we can try a formula from the 1971 paper Evaluation of Various Theoretical Models For Underwater Explosion:
Radius=(34π)13(40%×53 megatons of TNT Mariana Trench pressure+1 ATM)13≈580 meters
The bubble grows to about a kilometer across in a couple of seconds. The water above bulges up, though only slightly, over a large area. Then the pressure from that six miles of water overhead causes it to collapse. Within a dozen or so seconds, the bubble shrinks to a minimum size, then ‘bounces’ back, expanding outward again.
It goes through three or four cycles of this collapse and expansion before disintegrating into, in the words of the 1996 report, “a mass of turbulent warm water and explosion debris.” According to the report, as a result of such a deep-water closed bubble creation and dissipation, “no wave of any consequence will be generated.”
That “turbulent warm water” is actually quite substantial.

Mega Halo Productions
So what's even the point of the video, if they're not talking about what would happen if an actual 50MT bomb were detonated?
Either
A: They just threw in "fantasy, not science" to cover their asses when people started pointing out how inaccurate the information in this video is (which is the most likely, since the waybackmachine shows that this video didn't say "just fantasy" in the title or description when it was uploaded web.archive.org/web/20180113002614/ua-cam.com/video/A7eb1DHZ9GQ/v-deo.html)
B: They were referring to the scenario itself as fantasy, but not the statistics and facts, which would still make the facts presented in the video incorrect.
or
C: They are talking about a fantasy world in which uranium has a longer half life, and single 50MT bomb at the bottom of the ocean can almost wipe out human civilization, which would make the video a complete waste of time.

True
yes they can, they have access on other country such as china so if china send this demo it would be possible for them to make a plan lols
nah don't worry, the bomb they are making is less powerful than the us and russia is created during cold war (around 1 hiroshima sized bombs). and getting out of the orbit by that bomb is very unlikely
Yeah, but no...This entire video is just fiction. Whilst insanely powerful, the tsar bomb would not result in this at all. The top 10 earth quakes have all released more than twice the amount of energy in a Tsar bomba. But why trust me? This has already been investigated in 1996. And I quote:
"The bubble grows to about a kilometer across in a couple of seconds. The water above bulges up, though only slightly, over a large area. Then the pressure from that six miles of water overhead causes it to collapse. Within a dozen or so seconds, the bubble shrinks to a minimum size, then ‘bounces’ back, expanding outward again.
It goes through three or four cycles of this collapse and expansion before disintegrating into, in the words of the 1996 report, “a mass of turbulent warm water and explosion debris.” According to the report, as a result of such a deep-water closed bubble creation and dissipation, “no wave of any consequence will be generated.”"
Maximilian Wicén
I agree, this video is bullcrap, that unfortunately many people buy into.
But I think they where right about the earth quakes, in principle.
I'm sure, not about the strength of the effect, but still about the effect itself.
A huge disturbance between two crusts can unleash the energy that is bound within the tension between them.
I heard this is also an issue when it comes to fracking. (Or I guess it was fracking, if I'm not mistaken)
That it can trigger slight earth quakes above active zones.
When it started going on about knocking the earth out of orbit, my eyes rolled out of my head almost!
you're right. this is fake. this wouldn't throw the earth out of orbit and create a continent. it's 1 nuke, not 100.
hell not even 100 nukes of that size would cost the effects described here. it would take a lot more energy in one place to cause that much damage, like 10,000 nukes or even more.
Those who are defending this video based on its title, please know that the 'fantasy not science' title was not before. That is the reason for all the hate.
thanks for the info I was hella confused lmao
Still the stuff he said was pretty outrageous. "Coincidence? I don't think so." 400 ft. Tsunami? Come on it's not that powerful. The earth will move?
@@caramia6681 obviously it's a joke. The earth wouldn't move...
That wasn't the description before, they put it in after they got called out. They tried passing it off as real before
The Earth might move.....like a hundreth of an inch. It happens every time there is an earthquake.

Kurzgesagt and cody lab debunked this video
THE EXPLORER OF THE INTERNET IN UA-cam when did Cody's lab debunk?
Darth Vader Cody did the debunk a few weeks ago but it was only a patreon vid because he wanted to do a better one. But since kurzg was released he decided to just put it up as is.
Fick ja.
Friendly reminder that before Kurzgesagt video, this video didn't have "(Just Fantasy, not science!)" in the title, nor " I hope everyone understood where science ends and fantasy begins?)" in the description.
They tried to pass this as legitimate science, and I remember downvoting it months ago.
it was there before but because other small youtubers roasted him
It was there, and science birds mocked it by putting "Science not fantasy"

Sexy stories
Normally your videos are somewhat accurate but this is complete nonsense. Do a quick search of operation Wigwam where the US government actually tested nuclear devices under water. The conclusion was that if that initial gas expansion of the blast doesn't reach the surface there will be no wave. For depths greater than several thousand feet the pressure is so great that it, coupled with Rayleigh-Taylor instability, makes virtually all blasts completely dampened by the ocean. Also simple energy conservation can show the stupidity of these large waves produced by the bomb itself.
Boner Jango welp that is True so this is video is nonesense
It's was a joke
They experimented with setting off stupid amount of TNT to cause a tsunami during WWII... it never happened. The amount of energy required is just so boggling that it makes a nuke look like a pea shooter.
And this is what Science higher level is for...not people who won't use it in every day jobs lol

Seems more like his ultimate lucid dream...
The logic in this 🤣
This is ludicrous. The real answer is the ocean would "burp" and nothing much would happen because the water pressure is so immense it would compress the explosion.
Yep. Pure sensationalism with the approximately no scientific reasoning.
so you think.
Head pressure and that shockwaves got to go somewhere Solid Rock nice compression on top sounds like a major f******
JUST FANTASY, NOT SCIENCE! You didn’t read that did you
lol one it's all theoretically possible but yes they would need a bigger bomb. to get those reactions the bomb would have to double in size if not more plus be detonated underwater to cause the explosion

I have the feeling that a physicist was not included on the writing team for this one. The Tsar Bomba is the same energy as an earthquake between magnitude 8 and 9. Those happen on Earth and don't tear apart the planet. Tsunami sure, but smaller than the video talks about. Won't trigger tons of volcanoes either, as it just so happens major earthquakes also occur at plate boundaries and we don't see them trigger all the volcanoes. They're not some achilles heel of the Earth. Also, nothing that originates on Earth is going to alter its orbit.
Maybe, but inducing a mag 8 quake directly over a major fault line would have some dire concequences.
You have a my little pony profile pic your opinion doesnt matter
Says derpy hooves
Don't forget about the zombie apocalypse after the volcanoes. Srsly, this video is ridiculous garbage.
This isn’t correct. At all. Tsar bomb wasn’t that powerful and everything discussed here isn’t scientifically in the ballpark of truth.
this should end with "......or nothing at all would happen.". Like mmgw (clear fraud), this is filled with nonsensical fantasy posed as if science.
mike force Yes indeed, it's in the description
Sansirow title and description where changed after people called them out.
Meteorcow oohhhhh bastards.... when i first watched it the title was already the new one, sorry
There's no way it would tear the Earth apart, or change its orbit.
Vilém Novohradský if it caused near endless catastrophes over that long of a time frame it might pull the world apart
no it wouldn't change its orbit!!!!!... that's like saying that if you are in a boat on water and you push the front of the boat that it would go forward. totally false! Something would have to leave the earth or be ejected out of the atmosphere. does anyone know the 3 laws of motion???? My God!

You must be high if you think that a nuclear bomb can cause this kind of damage.
As much of a joke of this video is
Still
The Tsar Bomba is no mere nuclear bomb
It completely dwarfs any other nuclear weapon to date
TheWolfy yeah not really. A single trident missile could do much more damage. The tzar is incredibly outdated and dosent really pose a threat compared to modern MIRVS
And i am pretty stoned right now
Here's the math good sir for why you are incorrect
50 megatons TNT =
154298001628803936 lbs
.
The earth weighs
.
13,170,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 000 lbs
.
The bomb is
.
1.17158695*10^(-10)
.
Or
.
0.000000000117158695% of the earths mass!
.
DO YOU THINK SOMETHING SO RELITAVILY SMALL WOULD MAKE A REAL, noticeable DIFFERENCE???
.
NO!
.
Chris Jones The bombs weight doesn't matter, the effiency does
Mt. Krakatoa eruption resulted in 200 megatons of TNT equivalent, about 4 times that of Bomba. 2004 Indian ocean earthquake was 9,600,000 megatons (9,600 gigatons). To say that paltry 50 Mt nuke will result in global catastrophe is laughable even if that's in deepest ocean.
but it isn't instant, lol, if u need to do instant u need to activate super vulcain like Yellowstone and it will be explode with same as tsar bomb
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH OH GOD SOMEONE HELP THIS MAN
ARE YOU FUCKING DUMB THE YELLOWSTONE SUPER VOLCANO WILL HAVE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF THE TNT EQUIVALENT THAT THE TZAR BOMBA HAS.
it isn't just a matter of how big the explosion is, but where its located. Mt Krakatoa caused a 2 year winter. It did so with only the so2 it released. IF the bomb was dropped that deep and super heated all that water, it would do some serious problems.
robert hicks actually No, it would just heaten up the water with a few degrees across a mile
The kurzgesagt version makes more sense to me
Kurzgesagt is more scientific. See that the title says 'just fantasy, not science' which means it's not scientific.

This time Ridddle, you just went full tin foil hat. Try to keep in touch with a bit of reality.
*edit*
It was satirical
There's a difference in just opening a physics book for us or to actually having read it! muhahaha
The only way such a scenario could take place if the bomb could be used as a trigger to a chain reaction which would release exponential amounts of earth's energy. Something like a domino effect. Melting all the pressurized methane or whatever. The earth isn't a gas bottle! Maybe if you drill a whole into yellow stone and ignite the bomb there?
Who needs a foil hat when I have this strange vibrating stick?
Seriously wtf is this?
Yeah i was watching like ...this guy is living in cloud land
i mean, they would let it explode an second time just between two tectonic plates, and he says it could throw the planet out of the orbit or even destroy it.... i cant remember the earth moving out of orbit the last time as the let the zar bomb off, so why should that be even close to be realistic?
