I installed it in my Tesla Model X. It looks tilted and my baby has chin to chest often. Back of the base where it connects to seat is lower and the front of base with the support is higher
I see 2 tesla model X. If yours is the one with captain chairs it looks like you can adjust the tilt of the chair. I'd try and adjust it to be more flat. If you have the non captain chairs and you're experiencing chin to chest your best bet would be trying in another seat. You may need go try a middle seat belt installation. The other thing to make sure of is that the baby is being buckled in properly. If the straps are too loose, the chest clip isn't at armpit level, or shoulder straps are too high they may cause baby to lean forward more than they should. @@carseatquicky.itysafetyi have the same issue on a lexus nx.. the backseat isnt level with the ground either making the car seat a little upright even on level 1 recline setting.. I mean the car seat has a line that says if used without a base, it should be level.. does that mean if youre using the base, it doesnt necessarily have to be? Thanks in advance!
You are correct. The level line on the side of the car seat is only for Baseless Installation. Because of the rigid LATCH and how it attaches to vehicles, the only way you can adjust to the recline is the 1 to 4 base, depending on the child's weight. The infant pillow in the car seat also helps the child recline back while sitting in the car seat.
This might be a silly question, but i cant find any other answers. Is this designed so that you still wrap the seatbelt around the car seat once its in place? Or is the locking mechanism enough so it doesnt require a seatbelt? My son is due in 2 weeks and i want to ensure im doing everything correctly and safely
The Nuna relx base allows for seat belt and LATCH installation at the same time. You would not the seat belt around the car seat after it's clicked into the base. The only time you can wrap the seat belt around the car seat is if you're doing a baseless installation. I'll attach the link for that type of install. ua-cam.com/video/irkYLFgO9Xw/v-deo.html
My baby is due today and I've been waiting months to use the car seat. Video is very informational. Good job.
Congrats! Good luck and reach out if you have any questions.
