    I am SO happy you mentioned that Squishy says to let the ball come to you. I noticed you were advising the opposite in another video but I still understood enough to know what you both meant and that you were both right in different ways. Nothing is a 100% success; the game is adaptation.

    Some great advice, as I think a lot of people are more hesitant to go for balls, and like to stay back because they don't want to mess up. I also think some of that comes from the toxicity of other teammates who throw out quick chats that are unhelpful when you mess up, but man they are quiet when they miss a ball, right? I say turn off quick chat from everyone and play like you just don't care. You should try to do your best, but you will never learn if you don't put yourself out there a bit. I pretty much hate when one of my team wants to sit in goal, and I even try to go back and force them to rotate out. It is much more helpful (I think) for everyone to really be involved as a team because it makes everyone better. Thanks for all the info and advice you give.

    Jack, you’re providing an AMAZING service for the RL community. I’m a peak GC2 who plays similarly to this player. I don’t have any advanced mechanics, and rely entirely on my game sense/speed. UA-cam has a ton of great Rocket League tutorials for players in the Plat-Champ ranks, but not a lot for those of us in the GC1-GC3 range. I would gladly pay to have you coach me like this, so the fact that you do this for free is incredible. Thank you for investing in the RL community. ❤

    I watched this analysis and I saw that this player is a lot like me. I lack confidence (in life and in general) so I am incredibly passive. Also my journey through RL has been where my teammates do something stupid and I have to cover for it. Its an annoying habit for sure, but also with the lack of confidence and always doubting myself, I just hesitate to every play in front of me. I was Diamond in 2v2 and 3v3, but Plat 1 in 1v1. I decided a few seasons ago that I would specifically play 100 games of 1v1s in order to improve.
    I kept seeing my mistakes unfold into me conceding, but it gave me more chances to actually be on the ball. I started developing more "active defense" instead of trying to just save every shot coming to my net. I finally hit Diamond 2 in 1v1 and my friends noticed my improvement as well, as I climbed into Champ 1 in 2v2. With regards to my thoughts on this video, the way other people play, I am just definitely slower or further away from the play, making me a sitting duck. I can't play like a coward and expect anything good to happen.
    Due to my issues mentally, not much confidence, not much faith in myself, I honestly have to "make that decision to be confident". Its just a game, just try a different playstyle

    I am definitely on that cap. I win almost all the matches when I play with an attacking solid player because I keep the opponent from scoring and 50 the ball to adventagous spots for my teammate giving him 1v1s or even 1v0s. So we win like 5 goals ahead , probably an early FF. Yet when he is not that type, we are just both defending till the boost runs out and lose. I feel like I am easy to carry , but I can't step up and play the carrying role.
    Which is not blamong my teammate , it is just a solo queue mismatch which is as lot my fault as theirs cause we both should be able to take up the role and even take turns at it.

    I think a better title for this or maybe for a future video is "how to play more active", "how to recognize when to play aggressive" or "how to position to win games". There's a ton of relatable examples of situations where people play passive and question "well shit, why don't we have more pressure/opportunities" and you give pretty specific/focused solutions to each of these situations in this video.

    Consistency is my (and I'm sure most players)biggest problem. Same as this player, I'm on fire some games and then playing like a plank in other games.. In constant flux with consistency. I think improving on game sense helps close the gap a bit, howevwe, I'm learning that it's just repetition in various scenarios to improve on consistency. I don't think you can watch a video and then have the answer without grinding repition on the lacking skill(s) in matches or just freeplay. I've been playing since 2018, just can't push out of Diamond. Some inconsistency maybe also comes down to solo-queueing.. Synergy is better with some than others. Trying to get through a game without a toxic tm8 going silly mode or just forfeiting/leaving the lobby seems impossible at the moment.

We're just struggling and idk what it is maybe confidence and bad rotations is what I'm thinking. I'm playing 1s now. Hated it cos how toxic and sweaty it is when you concede by 1 goal difference 😂

    • @metaminerx
      @metaminerx 5 місяців тому +1

      when i start a game i never respect my opponents until they start showing something. if u let them have the ball too much they can build confidence during game. you need to dictate how the game goes not your opponents.

    • @ApparentlyJackAnalysis
      @ApparentlyJackAnalysis  5 місяців тому +2

      If you want to improve, I recommend always having a mechanic you're trying to focus on each week or each month, so a large portion of your warmup should be going towards improving this mechanic IMO. Over time, your confidence will naturally build up from improving this mechanic, and getting consistent enough at it in your warmup to feel confident to have consistency in game with it. This is what I did mainly with dribbles and flicks whilst ranking up, and that was my primary attacking move for a lonngggg time

    I noticed at 20:25 Jack is saying to get behind the teammate instead of getting to the other side of the pitch, which is what I would be doing in situations like this one. So I'm wondering how to know when to position for a pass and when to stay behind our teammate?

    • @Kibannn
      @Kibannn 5 місяців тому

      There wasn't really a passing lane open for the teammate. The most likely result would've been them getting 50d by the opponents. If that happens and the ball goes behind your teammate there (which it usually will because the opponents will have momentum into the challenge) then the opponent will have a great scoring opportunity.
      Even if the pass does go through, there are two defenders ready to save pretty much any shot you can get through. Very low chance of a successful outplay.
      Basically, imo you should only look for passes when your teammate has open space to work with. Too much can go wrong otherwise. Even if you do want to look for a pass in that situation though, going to the complete opposite side of the field is not the play. You can position yourself in the middle and play off of the pads.

    • @ApparentlyJackAnalysis
      @ApparentlyJackAnalysis  5 місяців тому +3

      Along with what Kibannn correctly said, this position just isn't viable to position midfield for a pass because the play has also pretty much already happened since the orange player with the ball has pushed up into the other half before the player we are watching can get boost and get close to him, so there is no way for him to catch up to the player on the ball and support him midfield - which is why we want to position behind him to cover most of the 50/50 outcomes
