    Everything you said is accurate. The problem is GC and down players rarely make decisions well. Either they always stick around without boost, control every ball in front of net in a 1 v 2 or push another of these ideas to an extreme. I would love to see more content about players being honest with their capabilities and just letting the opponents make mistakes. Bc they will almost all throw if you bang it over their heads and let them try to make the 1/10 perfect play. This is how my old man hands gets GC in multiple playlists every season.

      Yes, because rocket league is a situational game. You must be able to recognize what the best play is according to your situation, which realistically, comes after thousands of hours of gaming.

      I have like 4k hours in game and still can’t decide correctly. And I don’t know why. IFK how to tell what my mental block is. IDK if I’m OVERESTIMATING my abilities and playing too aggressive, or underestimating and too passive. But it’s probably both of those in any given game

    • @DKOILive
      @DKOILive 6 місяців тому +5

      I do not think it is a "problem", it is a part of learning curve.
      Step 1 - don't miss the ball when you don't mean to
      Step 2 - do not hit the ball when your teammate intends to hit it
      Step 3 - when you hit the ball, hit it in the direction you intend too
      Step 4 - when you are not hitting the ball, position yourself to follow up the play
      Step 5 - do all previous steps faster
      Step 6 - refine Step 1-5 until perfection

  • @DoitiEtokNews
    @DoitiEtokNews 11 місяців тому +36

    I think the main thing missing from this list is where to look, which is hard to see from a replay obviously. I’m assuming that most players around my level aren’t actively watching their teammates and opponents enough to make a lot of these decisions consistently. Maybe I’m wrong though.

      @JustinKrux 11 місяців тому +2

      one of my biggest gripes about RL esports is the coaches act as basically mascots...even at the higher level, pro level, what does a coach do in any other sport? they study the game, study weaknesses, devise strategy and consult the team on the best way to move forward with all this info and devise practice for specific players....this doesnt happen in RL esports as much as it needs to, no shade here, but id suggest instead of asking a youtuber like this for stuff to show your team, you should be creating it yourself to help your team individually, watching their replays, seeing their weaknesses, and devising strategy....that being said, theres absolutely no harm in getting ideas from channels like this either. Its just...in my opinion, a coach in RL esports, should literally be doing what Virge is doing.

  • @webrevolution.

    I swear man, all this videos are soo useful. I was a bronze player only 2 weeks ago then climbed up to GC3 simply from watching 2 road to SSL series (leth's and flakes') and now, after seeing your video I finally got what I needed to make the final stretch to SSL.
    I thought that RL it's one of those games where advices don't really matter at all cause it's a fast paced game where you don't have time to remember all the single advices every one told you. So you simply have to play enough to actually improve at your own pace and any strategic and tactical advice simply can't be implemented cause somebody else told you to do it.
    But woow, apparently I was 100% wrong. I have to say, it's truly amazing how helpful this videos are and how they taught me to stop time and actually have as much as 4839 minutes to think about the most optimal choice in every single position.
    I owe my SSL rank entirely to you Virge, to Leth and Flakes. Hopefully watching this kind of videos and also some tutorials on how to half flip and double flip reset, I will become pro in about 2 weeks time.
    Wish me luck Virge.

    Patience is key in my opinion. . And then you get stuck with a tm8 throwing out the 'take the shot' quick chat every 2 secs, no concept of defense, because they've just passed the ball, regardless of the fact that the ball is on its way to an opponent, so I MUST take the shot. And then I whiff and it's all my fault :/ And then the OMG! / Wow! quick chat comes out immediately 😅

  • @bloodwolf2609
    @bloodwolf2609 20 днів тому

    Genuienly I think the spinning too much during aerials is down to lack of control and mechanics as well. I find myself way too often randomly spinning when I take off, not because im trying to look cool or freestyle, but just because I don't understand which way the car is going to turn when I press the air roll in certain orientations, so then it comes down to guessing a direction and over-correcting in the same direction as the momentum you've already guessed. Solving this just comes down to more hours doing aerials and getting comfortable with car rotations.

    I'm d1 I recognized whats wrong and what you need to do on each of these plays and I mostly always do how its said but I still cant get out of diamond, it's really hard with bad teammates who dont know this stuff like for example its harder to win with another bad diamond against 2 good plats than it is to win against 2 good champs with a good champ, I played placement games with players higher than my rank and the teamwork is just there, the passes are actually existent and the communication with quick chat helps but in diamond the other diamonds never pass, panic, make dumb clears instead of controling the ball, and rush defense or dont defend

    Possession giveaway represents low rank more than lack of basics. People just can't see a ball without booming it and giving possession back to the other team .-.

    3:55 i think air dribbles are not good in diamonds and using a wall shot training pack would be better

    Where are these diamonds? All the diamonds I play against have c-gc banners and titles.

    First of all, great video! I'm definitely gonna implement some of those tips into my gameplay, I'm especially looking forward to those training packs.
    That being said, I just wanna point out that in the situation at 14:25 it didn't seem to me like a timing issue but more like an issue of using powerslide correctly. I myself was pretty bad at powersliding a few months back and that clip really kicked up some flashbacks of the plays I messed up because of that. But maybe I'm just projecting, haha.
    Anyway, cheers!

    Virge! My Master do you have or know a training pack for shadow defense and safe your last jump? I have one shooting pack for saving your second jump but I'd love to have one for defending. Like I find myself in 1v1 committing a lot bc I have that bad habit of just wasting my second jump .

      I dont have the code at the moment. But do a search for "why you suck shadow defense"

    You’re telling me that diamond should be able to air dribble and control it into the net like that? You’re wild

    Fun fact:
    Most of diamonds in 2s, are plats in 3s.
    "Now, i am d2 in 2s and 3s."
    Now being serious:
    When i go 2s, i play with and against plats and golds as of 3s. Because im not mechanical but game sense player, im having problems with them, they are unpredictable.
    When i play 3s D2, i face guys that are champs in 2s, but has zero game sense and its difficult to adapt as well, they mostly just ball chase, never pass, never position and double commit a lot, 3rd man doesn't exist.
    Source TRN.
    Cherry on top is, that every second game in mid Diamond 3s, is against party of 3. One is a mid or high Champ on alt with 50 or 100 wins, boosting his plat or gold friends for rewards. Every second game, weekends are even worse.
    I don't google every player on TRN, im using app that shows every player ranks and stats before kick off.
    Game became unplayable for soloq like me, because one game you win 5:0 against uncompetent diamonds (probably boosted ealier), next game 0:5 against Champ boosting plats party.
    My winning% is 52% now, up from 51.2% 2 years ago. It was never below 50%. Yet i can't rank up playing everyday.
    I achieved Champ in season 11, but in s12 game decided that i am D2, thanks to weird resets, so here i am.
    Fighting with plats in 2s, and fighting with boosters and ball chasers in 3s.
