I worked for Southwest Airlines and from the airport you could see the clouds and black smoke. One of the girls I worked with had a farm there. They gave her 5 minutes to get out. She got her pugs, couldn't find her cat, went out and open all the gates so her 13 horses could run. She had all kinds of cows, chickens, lamas, etc. She lost her house, barns, and all those animals.I felt so bad for her and her husband. They had worked their whole life for that farm.
Three years later and the park is just now coming back. And this year, it won't stop raining.
We really need the rain, the upside is with the rain in a few years the park will be bigger and better than before. Mother Nature sometimes has a strange way of working.

This is the first year since 2010 that we've had average rainfall. Thank Goodness! I guess it seems like a lot after four years of drought. Just making it a little harder to plan a motorcycle trip ;)
***** I live by fort worth I know the deal with rain getting better but we still need more.
@@KevinBrown1966 yeah... about that...

I was about to ask about Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp! My husband was heavy into scouting in Bastrop as a kid.
Very sad, that's one of my favorite parks.
at least most of the trees are coming back
So sad! Bastrop is one of our favorite parks. Stay safe, everyone out there!
Ikr stay strong folks
Damn.
Does anyone know if the Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp suffered any damage?
I have heard that the Boy Scout Camp has not been harmed. However I heard that late Monday and things change rapidly with wildfires.
@rayglass48 So far, it seems like the camp is ok. But you never know with wildfires.
The drought has turned the Lost Pines into a tinderbox, unfortunately. I'm glad they saved the CCC structures.
My step mom rescued a dog from these fires
So sad, I hope you get rain soon
@CrunkCocoFan700 You forgot West Virginia..
