As a lifelong Oregonian, I totally appreciate your love and utmost respect for your environment. I think living with a lot of nature really makes you understand it on a whole different level. I just love that wee little cabin so much, what an epic spot.

I learned while living in Alaska that by the time winter showed up, I was ready for the down time. During the summer it is just go go go so winter was a time to relax. You will enjoy that boat. Just be careful. It is not so much one can see above the water but the real danger lies beneath the water.

It's obvious that you two put in long hard hours. But I'm not sure I would call it Simple Living anymore. Your success has allowed you to live pretty high on the hog. And rightly so. Good luck!!!
I understand what you're saying, but the things a person 100% absolutely loves doing seems simple after you do them a lot. Kinda like fishing, at first it's hard, after a while you relax, and it's not hard anymore it's simple enjoyment.
I love that you treat your dogs with respect! They are here on this earth to give us love and comfort. They do that in spades. We have two Cavaliers that are basically our children. A little tip for one fisherman to another, dont hook your spoon on the rods rings since it might break or damage the ceramic. Hook it to the metal hold between the ring and the rod. Boat vibrations can help it degrade much faster. Thanks for all the content and the hard work, take care!

As a being who lives in an area with 6 months of winter and only 3 months of summer, I totally understand the excitement you guys have for the new season! 💕💫
Same in Southern Californian mountains too, 6200' and above. Last snow is always Memorial Day weekend, end of May. Cant grow anything till July. Then it gets too cold for the garden by Sept end or before. We spent July & Aug fixing snow/water damaged wood, like everyone else.
I knew you guys would make it there no problem. I’ve seen you guys on deep snowy trails, on icy cold frozen lakes and deep in the woods where the bears won’t even go..lol ..Thanks for sharing your trip you guys are Awesome and I genuinely enjoy your videos, especially all the delicious looking food you cook up..
Chicken Tip: For your broody hens, fill a bucket or tote with cool water. Set your hen in it for a couple of minutes. You don't need to submerge them..just set them in to cover their bums. Works 99% of the time. IF IT DOESN'T WORK...Just do it again. From an old Chicken farmer in the lower 48 to you.

Hi love what your doing in your wildness. You do all the things I did when I was younger working the land here in kiwi land as a paid job. Now that I'm way past the stage of a hunter gather I still plant veggie's on unused waste grounds about me. You plant pretty much what I plant here, but unlike you 2 I live alone and share all that I have to spear with my friends and nabours. Your August looks to be the start of your winters, this gives me the chills knowing your winters are far server then mine. Our August are the tail end of our winters and the beginning of my supper hot summers. Time to plant to rejoice with the coming of yet another summer of growing and neutering things with nature. Once again thank you you make me feel young just watching the things you 2 do with your pets and adventures though your beautiful country.
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen your videos but every time I’ve enjoyed them and overcome my real troubles in life so thanx Eric and Ariel!!! You are my top favorite people in Alaska, all-time!! ❤️ Greetings from Sweden(Almost as cold as Alaska)

Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. And I love your dogs. I am especially fond of Bo. He is such a love bug. But both of the dogs are really well behaved and seem to love the adventures with you.

48:00 cant stop laughing "Come to bed" you looked like Frankenstein's bride there. Glad your having fun along with the day to day "surthrival" ohhh did I just invent a word? dibs on the trademark LOL, cheers thx for the giggle
So much work to stay only 1 night! Those dogs are the best behaved. Never begging for food and loving the boat ride! So beautiful on the water!
Love living vicariously through you two!
What a wonderful vid! Perfect boattrip to the Far Away Cabin. And what a lot of pikes did you two catch! So great sporty fish! You’ve made yourselves a little paradise within your paradise off grid Simple life! (even when it rains it is beautiful out there, just, well, wetter 🤣). You know what they say: there is no such thing as bad weather. Just bad gear! It’s true!
Glad you got there safely!
You guys are awesome! Every video you put out here makes my heart jump with joy! Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I had a feeling that the cabin would be beautiful in summer. It's going to look even better by the time you two knock a couple projects out on it.
You two are so awesome! You guys work so well together & enjoy each others company. love to watch your videos! 🧡💛💚💙💜
As a being who lives in an area with 6 months of winter and only 3 months of summer, I totally understand the excitement you guys have for the new season! 💕💫
where is that that has only 3 months of summer?
@@deffjaytron In the Adirondacks the saying goes there are three seasons, winter, July and August.
@@deffjaytron the more North you go in Canada the colder it gets haha.
@@colliecoform4854 hahaha
Never do that!!!!!!
@@mievanlee Your reasoning? I've done countless Hens, and they all have stopped. They aren't harmed in any way.
@@mievanlee It works perfectly well and doesn’t harm the animals. Do you think hens can’t get wet? They are animals.
nothing better than fresh fish!! this cabin is perfect. bring a chain saw clean it up and cook fish over a campfire oh my goodness a little slice of heaven!!hope you show more videos of this setting cool find!!
The close up of the dog's tail wagging in slow-mo made me laugh out loud.
I absolutely love how these 2 are such a team they are living the life!
Nice work together with going down the river and getting to the pike cabin. Working with your partner priceless and having fun ... great work guys... god bless.
Eric, packing up the burritos by rolling them up: "This is gonna be a pretty easy food-packing trip..."
Burrito: "Challenge accepted!!" *defiantly unrolls!*
Me, watching: XD
I absolutely love your adventures!! Thank you so much for taking us all along!
22:50 Haha 😆 Ariel casting* Eric: “What the heck was that?” Ariel: “Backwards pass..” 😎
You two are not afraid of hard work, that’s for sure! I love watching your adventures.
How exciting.....you are really making the most of your journey and I appreciate your sharing it with everyone. Have a great day!
Thanks for taking us on your journey’s. 🥳
I admire your spirit of adventure you are both so brave.Props to you both💕
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen your videos but every time I’ve enjoyed them and overcome my real troubles in life so thanx Eric and Ariel!!! You are my top favorite people in Alaska, all-time!! ❤️
Greetings from Sweden(Almost as cold as Alaska)

It makes me feel like I'm part of your adventure Great boat! Great Fishing
i have watched this video a lot, many times, a great adventure! Thanks for bringing us all along, thumbs up all the way!
You may want to consider buying a dry bag, available on Amazon, and comes in different sizes for storing your food on your trips. I have a 20L dry bag as part of my bug out bag set up. They are waterproof too ☺️👍
Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. And I love your dogs. I am especially fond of Bo. He is such a love bug. But both of the dogs are really well behaved and seem to love the adventures with you.
I enjoy your adventures. So exciting to catch your first fish at the cabin.
Bravo. River navigation is no joke. Good to see an adventurous young couple with this kind of tenacity.
You folks are so fortunate to have the blessings you enjoy
Absolutely love your videos. So natural and real. Makes me wish I was younger. Alaska is so beautiful.
You guys are the best. So much fun and easy to watch. I love the "out takes" at the end.

I have seen this video before but the just taking that ride with you is great. The views of the mountains takes your breathe away. Thank so much for sharing your adventures with us. You two are great. Enjoy your time away. You are lucky. Give the dogs a hug for me. Take care❤️
Beautiful! Thanks for taking us along.
BTW, my 'vote' is for Pike's Paradise.....but after a couple of your fishing sessions, they might not have the same opinion...
Your smiles on your faces was worth the trip, nice Pike catch and great food cooking. I'm enjoying your boat with u all, great cabin trip. That's a weed Wacker u have, take care Eric and Arielle.
Just a hint, filling plastic tanks off the ground is dangerous - no ground for sparks. A loop air vent on the tank will stop tank collapse fuel starvation to the motor. Bob
Get a thin metal cable and wrap the tanks, and have an long end to the ground you can stand on for a solid connection while you fill the tanks.
So some kind of a static spark could ignite the fuel while filling?
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 Only if your fuel+air mixture is perfect. Not super likely but it had happened
Oh man, I drooled over those fiddleheads. Salt, pepper, butter & sprinkle of vinegar. Raised in New Brunswick, Canada. My older brother(72) picked 1700 pounds this spring.🍁🍁🇨🇦
I bloody love this channel + you Alaskan folk! Thanks for the vlogs/content - cheers from Australia 👍
Definately appreciate the transparency on what was forgot, to what to change, things learned etc.

Evening SLA👋 Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. A nervous belly will keep you on alert. And being prepared for anything. 👍Glad y'all had a safe trip and caught some pike👍👍 Keeping y'all in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless 🙏✌❤😊
Wow that place is really beautiful, cut down a couple of those dead trees and you'll have a beautiful view of the lake. I'm sure with you two's motivation the place will be absolutely perfect before long. I think I'd find a way to winch all that stuff up to the cabin, right after I built some stairs. LOL. Love your videos, thanks for sharing them.
Another incredible video! You guys are some Pike catching people!!! Love the cabin❤️❤️❤️ and Bo and Bandit💜💜
“Pike Place!” Thanks for the fun video!
I can’t wait to see you spend maybe a week at your cabin have a storage room for lawn care stuff to clean and repair things . That you can drag out there in the winter months for the summer. Love to see all that .
