It took two years for my dog's fur to grow back on a 10-day round of cefalixogen (? an antibiotic for resistant staph). He was also on Apoquel. Not sure what was worse. His blood tests showed very mild anemia. Stopped everything and used herbs. I think it took a long time, because I was also on a learning curve for herbs.
My motto is now no vet visits unless the dog needs to be in ER, where conventional medicine works very well.

Is dairy the only source of calcium that should be avoided when using doxycycline? What about spirulina and medicinal mushrooms? Do those things contain levels of calcium that should be avoided while giving doxy? Trying to support the immune system while treating for Lyme and anaplasmosis with doxy.
