After a radio editorial written and broadcast in June 1973 (CFRB, Toronto) by long time Canadian journalist-commentator Gordon Sinclair created an unprecedented response, he recorded it for commercial single release with profits going to the American Red Cross. Sinclair’s version was titled “The Americans (A Canadian’s Opinion)” and peaked at #24 on Billboard: www.youtube.co....
Released the same month was this leading version by Byron MacGregor (real name Gary Mack), who was then news director at the powerhouse Top 40 AM station CKLW in Windsor, Ontario, right next door to Detroit. “Americans” purportedly sold 3 1/2 million copies in the U.S. and reached #1 on two of the three national singles charts. Proceeds were also donated to The Red Cross.

I just watched this on To Tell the Truth. I was 9 when he did this. Wow it should be broadcast on every college campus and high school in America right now!
