Love your videos. I've been looking at buying a power cruiser for a couple years now. Thanks to your videos I'm seriously looking at buying a M109R this summer. You have a lot of great info on this channel. I hope you're getting some perks from Suzuki .
Nah, Suzuki doesn't know I exist haha
I just got my 2007 M109RI love it It has some extras and I really appreciate your video thank you
Sure thing, Jay! Congrats on your M109R!
When you take out the restriction you have the choice. Remap install Power Commander after installing a better filter for more air. Some people that are not aware just install aftermarket pipe for the sound but they loosing power. It has to be balanced. Less restriction need more air and fuel.
I have the Kuryakyn Silver Bullet running lights on my highway bars. They look great, are really bright, but they have caused some form of drain in my electrical system that my mechanic simply cannot trace. Ah, well...so long as Mo' is on the trickle charger and I don't use the lights, everything is great! I have Avons coming in for my Vulcan 2000...should be here shortly...
I'm dealing with that right now, Victor. My front turn signal doesn't work although I've verified that my signal plug is receiving the signal. I have a short somewhere that I can't find, but I think it has something to do with the loan balancer I have.
ooh forgot to add but will come in handy for all your electronics. install a extra fuse box, this is good to be because you may want to add more lights or even a power outlet.
Hmm, that's a good idea. I used to have led lights on my previous bikes and decided not to on this one. The leds didn't draw much power so didn't have a need for an extra fuse box. I do have a power outlet under the seat wired for my battery tender. Forgot to mention that one.
A throttle lock cruise control is essential.
Hey Brandon, I’ve watched a lot of your videos and I’ve recently ordered an ultimate seat to create a little more comfort even though the stocks it ain’t bad. The one mod I’m surprised you don’t have is some sort of a windshield. I am running a V Stream sport dark tint and although I do believe the M109 looks better with no shield, once having had such comfort from the smooth air going across my helmet and no wind on my chest I simply can’t run without it. One more question, is your ultimate seat a reduced reach seat or a mid rider seat? Love the videos, love the bike, ride safe my friend.
I just recently added the windshield. I’m not sure on the ultimate seat. I purchased it from a friend that didn’t like it. He is over 6 feet tall.
Hey man UA-cam n IG follower, and m109r owner, had a question, the gear indicator you got do you remember if it was a plug and play? If so you remember where you purchased it at? Thanks man
new sub here! finally a vlogger on my machine!! where did you source your peg sparkers?
😎🤙
Hey Brandon, afew extra mods that you should be interested in as well is new engine mounts. No doubt your mounts need some serious changing, especially the two front ones. You have a total of 6, what i suggest is to replace all of them with the harder ones that they use for the rear part of the engine the product #11652-10G30. This will help tremendously with the vibration of the bike. Also you ever think about lowering the bike to about an 1inch in a half?
Funny thing is I bought engine mounts for my 109 a year ago. Just haven't gotten a chance to install them yet. Also, haven't thought about lowering it because I scrape the pegs already. Anymore and I'd scrape every time I lean over.
If you have the mounts swap out the old ones with the ones I posted. It's a huge difference and they last longer than the soft mounts that is installed now
Okay, I will check it out. Did you change them out yourself?
No I had the shop do it, for me it was to involved. Some guys can do it, but what I read it's easier if you have two people doing it. When you go to the shop, ask for your old ones. You will be amazed on how bad of a shape the old ones up front are. That compound was very soft rubber, where as the ones I suggest you get are more harder.
Oh makesure you get them done sooner than later. It will stop alot of vibrations, but it will also avoid damage to your drive shaft from your engine drooping down.
Brandon, is the Gipro atre just a plug and play. Great video. I have the 08 M109r. Thanks bro.
It is. 👌🏾🤓
Thanks for the info on your mods. When you changed exhaust, did you also get O2 sensor eliminators and an exhaust servo eliminator? Or did you just rely on the Cobra Fi2000?
Disregard. O2 sensors aren't installed on US bikes :)
When changing the exhaust, you remove the servo motor. You will need a servo buddy or remove the pin from the ECU (takes 10 minutes to do) to turn off the F1 light. The bike will continue to look for the servo motor if you don't. Removing that ECU wire for the servo motor turns off the F1 light but only for the servo. So no worries on the F1 light not working for everything else.
Awesome, thanks! And by the way, I really love the sound of that exhaust. I couldn't find any Hard Krome ResTech exhaust. Am I looking for the wrong thing? Are they made anymore?
Nah, they aren't made anymore. You may only be able to find them in black :/. www.customcruisers.com/contents/en-uk/p11963_suzuki-m1800r-vzr1800r-exhaust-m109r-3inch-res-tech-black-exhaust-system-dg-hard-krome.html
Alex Hendrikse You should try the hard krome Side burner it’s heavy throaty and loud
can i switch gear indicator from m109r 2011 on 2006 model ?
Probably. It’s essentially the same bike.
Hey Brandon, how do you keep the wind noise out of you mic?
I use a boom mic cover and I hide the mic behind my cheek pads.
Good idea. Thanks
I swapped set ups recently and went to an external mic and Tascam DR-05. Same thing. Boom covers and mic behind the cheek pads.
how is the wind protection from the fairing, are there any larger shields for the 109r.
that you would recommend.
Joseph Allen It does well up until higher speeds. 80 is a good cruising altitude. I'd go with the sport windshield since I'm below 6 feet. Touring if taller.
thank you for your response, I'm looking hard at a M90, instead of a Honda Valkyrie (1500cc) , I like the m90, the bike has under 7,000 miles for $5,500. do you think that is fair, I do, of course haha. Can I ask , what is the difference, of 109R, to M90. is the power that different?
Mm, maybe around $5,000 depending on the condition and year. For $5,500, it better be perfect. Also, weight, looks and power. M90 is slimmer than the M109R. No radiator cover, etc. Also, I haven't ridden a M90 as aggressively as my M109R but there is a power difference. I'm not sure how much of a difference, though.
it has closer to 6.,500 miles on it. It is in mint condition, I want to go and give it another look over. I also won't buy it unless I hear it running.
Don't forget to ride the snot out of it.
Hey Brandon, do you find that the ride on the 9 is too jerky? I have a 9 and I'm convinced there is a major fault with the whole drive train. When you throttle on and off it's like the engine doesn't coast, or like you're in a lower gear than you should be... What are your thoughts?
joseph bhamra Sounds like you may be in the wrong gear or the wrong rpm range. Haven't had an issue with my 2007.
Or you need a tune
Brandon Bicasso Maybe... Its always been like this even after a full service. I've installed a TRE. Didn't make much difference. Test rode Indian scout, was much smoother. I'll look into a tune up. Thanks bro.
Hmm, any issues with shifting?
Only from neutral to 1st and 1st to 2nd. I found this after a little research, so it ain't just me bra "A 32-bit ECU controls the electronic fuel injection, and as long as you’re on the throttle, the flow is constant and even. But ease up a bit and the bike’s power cuts back noticeably. It’s either pulling like a horse or dropping you back in the seat when it stops surging and you’re constantly wrestling with the jerky extremes. Stay on the throttle and the M109R’s fuel delivery is fine, but if you ease up a bit it can get a little spotty, especially noticeable around 3000-3200 rpm. This fueling issue affects it when starting as well. Despite the fact that it has Suzuki’s Idle Speed Control system"

I go through 3 rear tires for every front. There's something wrong with how they make rear tires.
The only thing that is missing is self auto canceling flashers
the camera angle makes it look like your holding a hockey stick in your hands ...or are the bars that wide !! lol
LOL. They are pretty wide, lol.
5 gears I don’t need to have an indicator. But if I get on a 6 gears bike than maybe I would need one since it would be new to me.
Eh, my original 109 came with it and I just got used to it. 👌😎
Brandon Bicasso when I said « it would be new to me » I didn’t mean the speed display but rater the 6 gears. We are used to five and can easily guess on which one we are but a bit hard if it is the first time running on a 6 gears bike.
Ah, true enough. On the Indian I'm able to tell based on the engine noise what gear I'm in. The M109R as well. I still look down at both gear indicators out of habit, though.
You need part number - Kuryakyn 4709 for that fast l.e.d , look it up SIR
It's fast on purpose.
@@BrandonBicasso ok ok ok my bad bossman lol
@@TimothyIpmanchilds No worries 😅. I missed your comment but found it looking at this video as a reference. I left the relay alone because I figured the lights flashing would bring more attention. Could definitely change it at some point, though. 👌🏾

Brandon how are you? I ordered and installed the engine crash bar on the M109R. I noticed the left bolt of the crash bar touches the coolant hose and I’m afraid over time it might nick or pinch it. Is there a way around this? The right bolt went in fine nothing to worry there. Let me know. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day brother.
🙏Let’s all pray for the Ukrainian people🙏.
Mine is the same way. Long as it isn’t pressing the hose aggressively or causing it to bind.
@@BrandonBicasso Thank you brother. I thought that was kind of weird at first. But the protection of that engine is a must. Have a blessed night.
