Basic premise and lore of whats made up for this trailer.
After the mysterious entity, known only as "The Maker" arrived, the Mushroom Kingdom began to fall apart. Worlds and even timelines themselves began to get scrambled and re-arranged leaving only a handful of survivors in its wake.
Left to pick up the pieces, the company SWITCHES has been established with the goal to rebuild and reconnect a now fragmented Kingdom in the hopes of uniting the calamity the Maker has left behind
It's up to Yoshi to uncover the worlds mysteries and the importance of SWITCHES seemingly never ending supply of BMs.
(also pls understand this is most likely a one-off joke skit that I will not really do any followups to it)

This is, trust me, way more mild and kid-friendly than the actual game. The actual game is more bloody, violent, and gory, which is why it gets an “M” rating. This video is downgraded to a “T” rating or even an “E10+” rating, since it is a lot more tame than the actual game.

I worked a FedEx before. It's no joke, people don't see the underbelly of package delivery because the fights, ambushes, all the killing, so much killing, happens in the middle of the night, in the empty alleyways, abandoned houses, deserted parking lots.
It's good business to keep this little known fact away from the public.
But you get to a point where you stare at your own bloody hands, you stare at the small pieces of grey matter on your fingers after you literally bashed a UPS guy's head open to then rip part of his skull off so you can reach in, even if it's a finger or two, and turn his brain to mush, yeah, you get to a point where you know you're a monster. I mean, so what if you didn't gain his knowledge after you ate some of that grey matter. You know your a monster, because deep down, you know you liked it. You go on a delivery run expecting to get ambushed, hoping for it...
... Anyways, the dental package sucked so I quit.

This just makes me think of how it must have felt building the first Super Mario Bros, to some it must have felt almost like a chore, others took glee in placing each brick.

Even with this being a parody, this is one of the smoothest and most creative uses of any IP I've ever seen. MAJOR props for the storyboarding for this, it's damn near seamless how you used mechanics and characters from Mario to fit death stranding roles.

This is canon, the Yoshi are revealed to be ancient caretakers of the entire world Mario has ever known. The childish nature of his adventures, the strangely convenient level design, and the fact that he can always take a break with a peaceful go-kart race with his "sworn enemies" just click. The Shy Guys are the Maker's minions, completely upsetting the balance of power and the sheer scale of the Mario Universe. Super Mario Bros. 2 turned out to be not just a dream, but a premonition. A flawless animation. The not-too-cartoony style. Sound design is incredible. Storyline and scenes great and close to what we saw in Death Stranding.
Actually thrilling and keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats. Especially Death Stranding players, I suppose. All the little details make it feel whole.
Or, as Nintendo fans tend to say: The better Switch version of [insert game]. It is animations like this that make me wish, Nintendo had a more adult series of Mario universe games and stories. Or more adult-oriented 1st Party games in general.

At the end of yoshis island ds you see a baby yoshi which most likely the son of the main yoshi of that game. So Tropical Yoshisaurus munchakoopas did not protect mario as a kid it was his dad. Yoshisaur is marios pet

No, like really, I haven't heard of death stranding but this inspires me so much. If I ever become an artist I may do comics of this or something for fun (for obvious copyright reasons of course). The idea of a Yoshi going around placing blocks with that sci-fi vibe just fits like a glove. The post-apocalyptic vibe aswell. I don't know how to explain what the heck I'm feeling right now.

Not only is the concept of the crossover itself on paper interesting, but the animation, the art design (love the character designs), but every detail you put into this idea connects with the basis of Death Stranding seamlessly that it seems...to perfect. This is an awesome crossover that not only does it well, but it remains faithful to both lores like PBJ.

Once the PC version drops, maybe Yoshi Stranding will become a thing!
I think the only thing is that... Yoshi seems like a great fighter here, whereas you clearly see than Death Stranding character doesn't know how to fight but somehow tries to do his best.

I loved how you gave him a tough personality here, unlike how 'sweet' and 'friendly' he's known to be. Yoshi IS tough, but I've never seen him like this! And the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island references were quite a surprise!
