@@Gadget-Walkmen It's one of those games people are either going to have the patience and curiosity to go with it, or overlook it (and miss out!). Won't like though, just re watching this video and hearing the SFX of the trike gave me rock journey flashbacks and not in a good way, haha! Now all the PC users can enjoy the same beautiful but sometimes frustrating experience!

Hahaha, man the part with the bike and de boost sign was sooo funny, also trying to pick up all the loot in the mules camps and dropping it because of the low ceiling XD
@@michaelgrimsley7342 It's pretty unique. The theme of the game is to make deliveries to ease the daily lives of people in the world. This rewards you with new gear or cosmetic stuff as well as resources as you level up your bonds with the various communities. While you trek around the world you leave stuff that you find are useful to you, such as bridges, roads, ladders, climbing ropes, shelters etc... Other people online will then have these items appear in their game making their experience easyer. It's all connected and, quite honestly, it's very fun for some and not much for others. Takes a while until you can fight the monsters. The game makes a huge fuss about them being very dangerous and whatnot. They can destroy a huge chunk of the landscape, but you really have to let them do it. They are by far the weakest part of the game as you can only really run away from them until you get the means to fight them and that becomes quite tedious. But once you have the means to fight them it's back to Metal Gear boss fights and that's a plus for me. The game also makes a point not to kill your fellow man. You do get firearms and the human NPCs get them too. You can kill them, but that makes it rain more in an area and you don't want that as rain corrodes your stuff and spawns the monsters. You get many serviceable non lethal weapons too, It's all up to you. Finally, the game is very much a mix of single and multi player experience, on one hand you are alone and need to do your stuff by yourself, on the other, you have all these people leaving hints and items to help you out. I remember the day of release where the starting area was barren save for some emojis, now it's filled with bridges, power stations and other useful stuff to make your Norman's life easyer. Kinda like the Darksouls message systems, but with useful items in stead. The gameplay loop is very much like a typical RPG, "go here, deliver this, get a new quest to deliver that over there", there's also harder versions of the quests in the "premium" deliveries and also missions to raid human camps to get items they stole. You may argue that the combat system isn't all that, but it's the same as the Metal Gear system and unlike in RPGs or MMOs you don't have to transition in to combat screens (except with the monsters) or setup your buffs/do your rotation. I like the game quite a bit, finishing the highway in the second area felt great, I had just made the area 100x more accessible and faster to traverse which in turn made it easyer for me to deliver stuff across the map, getting that reputation up faster and unlocking new gadgets and vehicles. Game is filled with details and interactions, you can make fights against the human NPCs very cinematic if you pick up a few combat tricks from videos. I think a lot of flack that people give the game is because they can't be bothered to care about optimizing their trips and just want to rush thing. This isn't a game to be rushed, it requires patience. I'm more of a strategy/tactics game guy so maybe that's why I'm more tolerant of Death Stranding. The constant stream of cutscenes for everything is tedious though. good thing you can skip them.
I absolutely loved this game! It's a shame that the way it was advertised and its first few hours deterred a lot of players. A lot of people that I spoke to who said they played it but didn't like it didn't realise how easy and fast traversal becomes further into the game
I know this is two years down the line, but I found the first part of the game to be the most engaging till I got to the parts beyond the weather station. The bit after Port Knot I spent more time raiding MULE camps and building roads than I care to admit 🤣
The first time i used a players zipline, was one of two times i died. literally dropped me off a cliff before i knew what happened. :S (First time was using a players rope, that wasn't long enough!)
DevilGearHill as someone just said, Didn’t think for a second this game was gonna be enjoyed by everyone as it’s different in its slow paced terrain traversal approach. I personally love it a lot but it’s understandable that some others are not gonna so much.

Why Not? It’s understandable that the gameplay isn’t gonna please everybody and some might find it boring at times because it’s designed to be purposefully a pain in the ass at times.
