    I completely agree with your humidity recommendations. I never understand why some want to house baby desert tortoises at 80% - 90% humidity. One way to maintain high humidity is to convert a standard room humidifier, as they are more reliable than reptile foggers, and attach a plastic hose to direct the humidity/fog into the enclosure. I can set mine to come on every hour for 30 seconds.

      A3 Marketing the season they grow is Wet & humid they stay under leaves, burrows, plants, ect. if a baby tortoise isn’t kept it high humidity it would most likely pyramid.

    Thank you so much. please your next video "way to increase&maintain humidity"
    and Make a video on how to maintain proper temperature depending on the space in the tortoise indoor enclosure.
    For example, the optimal temperature for the night and day of the hot zone and the proper food, flooring and size of a indoor enclosure according to the tortoise species. From a man who raises tortoises(red foot,yellow foot) in south korea.

    For my herman in the UK today shows45% as uts a bit hot. How can I increase the humidity having a hemp bedding in the table

    • @happytortoises
      @happytortoises  7 місяців тому

      Personally I wouldn't use hemp bedding as it can be dusty and dry. One alternative is to provide a humid area - eg a half log hide with damp sphagnum moss. This will give a very humid area which will compensate for the lower humidity elsewhere in the enclosure.

    How if higher than the required humidity, I read some of the forum they said they push the humidity until 80 percent for sulcata in order to prevent piramid shell issue. I so worry my humidity not high enough and cause my baby sulcata grow up with piramid issue... Currently my sulcata baby humidity is in the range 50 to 70....
