DJ, I'm going to be really honest, I love your hairloss content. You are by far my favorite creator to follow over this. You've got a great, honest nature about your videos, and offer a lot of genuine kindness.
I know this is probably getting old for you to keep making this content. But I just want you to know, I genuinely appreciate it.

@@keratinbrotherhood thank you DJ. I hope your hairloss continues to look up!
Also, random factoid. That "white bulb" you're seeing on the ends of your hair is just your skin sticking to the hair follicles.
You usually see it when a hair follicle comes out too early (like with TE, or with hair pulling).

Thanks for the update dude. When I was losing my hair from 21-26, before jumping on fin, my scalp used to burn and itch. My mom used to say it was from bad diet and wearing hats to often. Truth - it was inflammation caused by DHT. Appreciate you bro

Yooo for me the same thing started at 17 I thought I had a fungus because my scalp used to itch and burn until my hair started falling and I went to the dermatologist to get monoxidil and finasteride which hasn’t worked at all now I’m hoping to get dutasteride

I think I have the exact same thing, I saw progress in the first year and then now I've been going through so much anxiety and stress it's like I'm in a constant shed. But I'm not sure, I feel like I'm just losing it now, the hairline hasn't changed too much but the density on top just feels and looks a bit thinner, that's also making the mental health plummet. Appreciate these videos man, especially for someone going through this at 20.

Just finished watching. I told you about the telogen effluvium a couple of months ago on a previous video in one of my comments. Me and you have similar hair texture as well as the same cycles of hair growth and loss every 3-4 months. I saw a dermatologist and she said the type of hair loss I experience sounds like telogen effluvium bc androgen alopecia doesn’t behave this way. She said it might be Vitamin D deficiency related, I started taking the supplements and going in the sun more. Have seen improvements since.

I just wanted to say whilst I’m a fair bit older than you my journey to date is identical to yours , multiple HT’s , finasteride, then adding Dutasteride and minoxidil daily … at times a phenomenal result with thick long hair then the next shed kicks in ( have had at least 4 big ones in a few years ) … this has been happening to me now on and off for a few years but recently thought I was on top of it .. then as you say the insane itch starts and then the shed starts ( or even shed first then itching) with little pimples and then scabs.
Sorry for long comment but you’ve helped me understand what’s going on and I would say mine is TE also as I go through periods of high stress and anxiety.
We should stick to our programs as they work and lthen really start to control our cortisol stress levels throughout the year and save our gains because we definitely also have Androgenic alopecia also.
Great content and mighty brave of you sir. Thank you !!!!!

Hey Man, that’s a good information. Really appreciate that. I did had this kind of hair loss at my early 20s. When I pull my hair it would come a lot with white head and scalp felt so itchy. I did scalp massage sequencing and pinching the scalp and added rosemary oil to my regimen which did improved a lot. I’m on topical finastride and minoxidil for 5 months as I have also MPH. Not a doctor, but could it be that those Follicles was not a strong as it use to be because you did start treatment on the later side. And DHT blockers only stop further miniaturization of the follicle, it doesn’t necessarily heal back the follicle.

I also had really itchy scalp when I was 21 and then all of sudden lost shit ton of hairs. I must have lost 40 000 hairs during that year. The itchy feeling did not go away when I scratched, but it helped when I was pulling my hair. get the ichyness was coming from inside of scalp or something.

    I do also sometimes suffer
From this? The white bulb does seem familiar.. I remember in the beginning stages of my hairloss I didn’t even dare to rinse my head with water because I would see hair everywhere🤣my scalp was not used to this and it got oily and itchy, because of the stress I had from school and the stress from losing more hair.. But now I’m doing fine🧿😁.
Im almost at my two year mark and I stopped the minoxidil, wich I only used
Om the hairline (didn’t work, my scalp got flaky because of it). I started using Jamaican black castor oil and it seems like it’s working.. babyhairs are coming in on the temples, I hope there here to stay and grow thicker.
Thanks for the update bro :)

    • @keratinbrotherhood
      @keratinbrotherhood  2 роки тому +1

Yeah, I was experiencing mega shedding. My bath tub was full of hair after my shower. I explained that to the surgeon and he said it sounds like TE rather than AA. Looking back, it probably was. Even with AA, it's hard to imagine loosing hair that rapidly; I lost about 60-70% of my hair in under a year. I was in the military language academy under ridiculous stress, while dealing with a long-distance relationship and yada yada. It's safe to say, I was really stressed.
