The air filter is held on with a wing screw through the filter. An o-ring holds the screw in the filter when it's off. I just did a 441. Port it and muff mod makes it run like it should.
First 441 had adjustable carb. Then they came out with MTronic. First one came out were sometimes hard to start. They did run better then the adjustable carb model. Later on they had update and it started better. It is a good saw. I had both M tronic models. Maybe they just flashed the ECU with updates.
That how I set up all my firewood saws 24 or 20" bar 8 pin sprocket. Around here they are skidder or box saws. Loggers keep on skidders and farmers keep em in bed mounted tool boxes. They are rarely for production use but get beat all the heck.
Got a Shindaiwa 452s for 150€ at a pawn shop and it was so new it wasn't even broken in yet. The Shindaiwa 452s is a Echo 501 with a 45cc cylinder. Pawn shops are excellent for non common saw brands.
My coworker in our tree business runs a 3 year old ms441. Good saw but it is like holding a vibrator in your hands compared to my Husqvarna 572XP and a bit slower cutting. Reliable yes. Fun to run, no. Also my 395XP vibrates the bolts out but all my 5 series do not. Not a fan of the 3 series Husky’s. Anyone to lazy to shop around deserves to pay 299 for a ms170.
I acquired a MS441 M tronic version that had a sawmill pulled over the top of it. Anyways i ordered everything needed off of ebay and built it back. Run's great but is heavier than my 372
I was a hardcore Stihl man... used to rock a custom made Stihl license plate on my trucks. Those saws were the first step in me becoming a Husky man and the 461 was the second step and the 500i has about sealed the deal...lol For a high production cutter that makes his living running a saw 10 hours a day those Stihls that end in 1 are dogs... All that being said I have heard they port up nice!!
Same thing around me. It’s very rare I ever score any decent saws for a pawn shop. There is one pawn shop that if he has anything decent he’ll give me a good price on it but ever since market place got big time he rarely ever sees saws come in.
I remember the first year the 441 came out and our crew got a brand new one. I was all excited to put the bar on it and get it in wood. After about an hour of cutting I remember saying to the log truck guy.. “what a pos this thing is!” Lol 😆
I would love to see a saw wackoff with That ms 441 vs Husky 372 or ms 460. Because everybody says they cut faster than a ms 460. I have personally never ran a Stihl ms 441 be would be cool to see.
Ive had mine for 10 years and itll pull a 28" bar pretty good and is nuts with a 20". My only complaint is that the power head alone is 15lbs. I opened the muffler up about 5 years ago and it keeps the rpms up better with the 28" bar on it
I have one. It is the same thing as my Farmmac F872. It's trash. At least...the one I have is. I know with many of these clone saws, it is luck of the draw. My luck was bad on the one I got.
Neotec is 100% garbage. If one wants a clone saw the farmertec kit saws that you put together yourself is the way to go. With the kit saws I suggest getting oem stihl piston rings and stihl oem gas line and impulse line. Also an oem stihl ngk spark plug is a good idea too. Put the kit together including those oem parts and you will have yourself a good clone saw.
I've been running my ms441 mag for a few years now been a damn good saw but lately it's had an issue with staying running but fires right back up.. usually shuts off after I let off the throttle.. like it's not getting gas or sucking air possibly IDK but I did clean the carb and check for loose wires, spark plug.. and the impulse line didn't seem to have any cracks or pin holes as they are common after everyday use I use it on a daily basis.. now it's gotten to the point of when it does shut off it acts like it doesn't want to fire period. Had to use a whole different saw today as I was in a rush on the job.please guys got any ideas that could possibly help a feller out.. I sure would appreciate it...thnx
Dude, take the deal and run. Also numb skulls rent tools, you and I buy them, use them and take them back within the grace period for a full REFUND🎉!!!
I think personally that the issues were weight, and power compared to the 440. I as well don't care for the anti vibe. They're ok saws otherwise- some mtronic and some carb. Fairly reliable actually. Just certainly not my favorite pick in their lineup, but it'd get ya out of a jam if needed and certainly better than. $299 ms170!!! 😂🙄🤣😂
Your addiction is getting out of controle man . Ur buying almost every day ! I'm sure your local city has help for free! Get some help brother lol . Go to a meeting ! It would be hi I'm boedy and I have a chainsaw problem lol
I really like my ms441. Runs so smooth, the only part of me that gets fatigued is my back. Glad I bought it before m tronic.

70.7cc Older 2007-2012 models were not m tronic newer 2012-2019models were. You can make a nice one outa them for sure great finds. 🦾❤️🔥☀️
Pretty sure the 441 and 441cm came out at the same time. And you could buy either the whole time a 441 was made
Great score with the saws

Opening up that exhaust done mine wonders lol now it’s opened up a bit more than I would like but it runs like a banshee
Great deal on the saws. Really interested in seeing what you do with the Poulan.
The back drop your using in your videos looks great. Also nice pick up with the MS441.

The “Saw Pimp” strikes again!

That's a 20" bar

If you don’t plan on keeping it what would it take to part with it

nice find bro u know i love me some stihl chainsaws
Them 441 take the old metal screen filter with the felt band around it and the wing nut…
Thats a good match up for a wack off between that saw and your xtorq jonsered
You need to get a Neotec NH872! I am exited to see one of them!
I have one. It is the same thing as my Farmmac F872. It's trash. At least...the one I have is. I know with many of these clone saws, it is luck of the draw. My luck was bad on the one I got.

Air leak. If you keep running it like that, you will eventually burn it up as an air leak usually gets worse and worse.
Looks like a good deal
Seems like a pretty good deal! Especially when a ms170 costs the same🤣
Just got a mtronic 441 at Texarkana pawn shop 150$ out the door
You can use the term “hot saw” here for sure lol good deal on the saws tho
I had a nice 441 and sold it recently cause I have two 372xp's and a 272xp. It would out cut my ms460. High rpm saw.
I like the 441!!!!
The 170 was a joke! Wtf
Every pawn shop I've ever went to asked for full price.
the ms 441 is 70.7cc's
Can’t wait until you buy a ms660 or ms880 from there for the $300 Stihl price.
Great value chainsaws
👍👍👍 wow
Watch out for scammers everyone.!!!
Stihls best saw is the 462
Dude, take the deal and run. Also numb skulls rent tools, you and I buy them, use them and take them back within the grace period for a full REFUND🎉!!!
70.7 cc saw
Great find!
