My favorite clean tone by far is the Wide Range humbucker in a Tele. It honestly is one of the most versatile pickups! You can really get a sweet, singing tone on the neck pick up, and the bridge pickup doesn’t seem to be too overbearing in the high end. But in my opinion, rhythm is where it really shines. It really seems to fill out a mix. I have a 72 reissue thinline and it’s been one of my main guitars for almost a decade.

some of these 70s teles havent sounded great but man this one, especially in that bridge pickup, sounds exceptional! extra twangy and nice!

The 70`s Fender are definitely better than their reputation. I own a Strat from 77 and it`s great. Great playing as usual Mark.

Loved the playing, esp Midnight Rambler (Nailed it). Cool guitar but still happy i have my Squier Fat Tele. 20th Anniversary, even.

Talking about heavy '70's Fenders. The place we practice has a '79 Antigua Strat and a Gibson '58 Burst RI hanging on the wall.
The Strat is literally twice the weight of the Les Paul, or at least feels like it...
This should be on national TV networks just before the main news!!!

Keith Richard uses a capo at the 7th fret for "Midnight Rambler".
Going to settings and playing the video at 1/2 speed......Oh how wonderfully drunk Mark sounds AND looks!
Been watching for a long time. Does the pickup he chooses correspond at all to what the Keith would have used? Seems mark will use the neck for things that had gotta be bridge in a band context.

very nice , next to black I like the natural finishes best , so this one looks great to me , sounds great to , I'm still out of the office on a humbucker in a tele , but this is a good example of it working. a nice piece of ash alright , great set Mark , happy 600 guys , long live GOTD

Yep. Low E is off I think but I can’t tell if he’s pulling it out or hitting it so hard it goes sharp (heard that a couple times). Why you need 11s or custom fatter big strings with normal skinny strings. And yeah I got your sarcasm I think.
