I like how when ever Groudon sings, his lyrics seem quite rough and... it's like a wall is hitting your ears every time another word comes out meanwhile Kyogre's words flow together in a smooth melody. It contrasts ground vs sea REALLY WELL.

A random Pokémon trainer: catches Groundon and Kyogre. How did think Rayquaza would react to that?
I just realized that most legendary sets are a representation of a family dynamic:
Groudon and kyogre: Two children whose determination to be superior than the other is unending.
Xerneas and yveatal: two siblings who have taken different paths in life but never grew to resent each other.
Creation trio: A child, in rebellion of his distant father, did something unforgivable that couldn't be taken be taken back, but never truly hated his siblings, but still that same rebellion for his father.
Those are a few off the top of my head.
Lugia and Ho-Oh: two siblings that are completely different from each other, and have chosen different paths in life. Despite what others may say, they both have the same goal of peace and prosperity

Why do many twin necessities have their avatars in eternal conflict? Like I get good and evil or day and night because the conflict is *why* they’re necessary but really? Both the land and the sea would be a *wasteland* without the other but these two are literally incapable of understanding that.
tbf, for the most part, Most Ocean Life would be totally fine if there was no land, it's Land Life that would become a wasteland without the ocean.
I dont think either of them really care what happens to any other pokemon as long as they get what they want, which in this case is just more room for them to exist in. Groudon and Kyogre are pretty narcissistic
So the lore behind Kyogre and Groudon is that they ARE the creation of our world. They represent unfiltered, primal powers. They are not chill because their nature is primal. As for where they are at, their final battle before being quelled and turned to stone is why.
There are a couple of twins in pokemon that don't fight but only fight because of control. A few being Kyuram and Zekrom. Ho-oh and Lugia. And finally Zamazenta and Zacien. Palkia and Dialgas fights expand the universe and are in constant conflict.

I love this so fucking much! A fire that can not be quelled and the torrent that ever rages. Never understood how Groudon could stand on equal terms with Kyogre with 4 times weakness and all. But the fury of something that ever rages is something I can inderstand

Well he is 2x weak and if he is slower or switched in and gets up his ability his weakness becomes neutral so the match up usually depends on who gets up heir ability first. They both can act as counters for each other depending on the stats or moves they run

People always say that Groudon is at a constant disadvantage. I disagree. While primal kyogre simply changes the rain to be enough to put out any fire that comes on the field, which is eh because water already does that. Whereas Groudon changes the temperature of the god damn sun to a point where all water evaporates instantly which is huge as water's boiling point is 100 degrees Celsius. Kyogre makes rain wetter while Groudon manipulates the heat of a solar body. I rest my case.

Despite the first game I played being Kanto (FireRed) I still like kyogre. They have to be in my top 5 along with charizard (first starter), jolteon (first eeveelution), zapdos (first legendary), and dragonite (I just think they’re adorable)
Also I am not putting quagsire or bidoof because they are often glitched and don’t have the 10000 base power total most of the time

Primal Groudon is actually ground/fire type so you got that one correct, but Primal kyogre is still just water type
It’s because Ground/Fire is weak to water and ground, by water/grass is weak to Flying, Poison, and Bug. It would make sense to be a water/flying type, but then it would be immune to ground, sooo
groudon's ability makes water moves just not happen so it evens out
wouldn't Kyogre be water flying

1) There is Ground beneath the Ocean
2) Groudon can make the sun hot enough to evaporate water
3) Groudon can expand its battle area just by moving, which Kyogre has to start floods (which, it can easily do)
4) Under Desolate Land, Kyogre's abilities are so substantially nerfed that its completely useless against Groudon vs Groudon who gets one shotted under Rain (but he already did that), who can still get a heavy swing on Kyogre
5) Groudon can just make volcanos, which it can then use to unleash more pain upon Kyogre

Can we all Admit thar Kyogres winning in a Battle, it has a 8x Strength against Kyogres FIRE and GROUND type
Actually, Primal Kyogre using a Water type move only does 6X damage against Primal Groudon, assuming no form of rain or sun is up. Dual type Pokémon take quadruple damage from any damaging move of a type that both of their types are weak to, and STAB moves do 1.5X the damage that said move would do if a Pokémon not of its type used it. If we assume rain or heavy rain to be up, the damage of a STAB Origin Pulse, assuming no investment in Special Attack, changes from 612-1084 to 916-1624, both a guaranteed OHKO.
