My girlfriend is a Buddhist and ever since I met her I became so interested in Buddhism and everyday I am learning more and more so I can be more involved in her beautiful culture and religion, thank you for this amazing video!

@@McCarthy1776Religions around the world share a lot of the same/similar teachings, principles, philosophies, symbolic stories, etc if we bothered to delve deep into them, but unfortunately, many religious fanatics insist on being hateful and divided when it comes to faiths different from their own.

The journey is a long one warrior.
You will need to have a chance at encountering, seeing and experience Mara who is omnipresent but extremely rare and difficult opportunity. Thereafter it would certainly be life changing for you as you need to continue carry on life strictly observing the five precepts and follow the noble eightfold paths such that you continue to reduce your karmic value and does not gain further karmic value so that when your death arrives you would have exhausted the last of your karmic value where rebirth would be impossible.
@@Astralyang And by "chance" it means one can try and put in all his efforts and plans it could only happen if there is a chance and so the journey would indeed be a very long one over many life and death cycles.

I'd say Buddha. Buddha is the master of his Self, unbounded, out of the grasp of Mara to keep him in Samsara. As some schools teach, Mara is just as real as the Self makes him, so where there is Buddha there cannot be Mara.

A young warrior, seeking to prove himself, came before the temple in which the master taught to challenge him to a fight. The young warrior shouted his challenge from outside, yet the master refused to answer. He escalated his words to insults, claiming the master was afraid of fighting him, so the master was a coward. After a whole day of these attempts, the young warrior, failing to have his fight, left.
The master's students, however, came to question him: why would the master simply accept the insults? He certainly was skilled enough to defeat the young warrior in a fight.
The master explained: one brings you a gift and you refuse it, who owns the gift? The one that brought it, not you that refused it.
I believe that same reasoning applies. Mara brings the gift of defeat. But Mara doesn't exist for a Self like Buddha, and neither do Mara's gifts. However, if you accept it, it will be yours, a gift from Mara. It's up to you to accept.

when satan was once lucifer, he was a high ranking chief/arch angel in heaven like god himself (michael's name in origin means "one like god" or "like of god") one of the highest & best of angels and had almost all the knowledge of god as well. Until he turned away from difference in opinion, he set fire/destroyed/warred in heaven then lost and fell from heaven (banned for sometime and entered heaven once or a few times for some dispute with God and plans) and was trapped inbetween on earth and hell. You would think the Buddha would've encountered such a being like satan/lucifer since buddha was known to be a great enlightened teacher for all of humanity & some lesser gods of pagan beliefs. If satan could talk with a man (perhaps demi god) like jesus, he would have definitely detected an or any being like the buddha himself.

They have Brahmanized Gautam Buddha philosophies and teachings. Making it more of a fairy tale and diminishing what Buddha actually meant to spread. He attained enlightment whereas his followers have attained dimness. His penance and his efforts have been reduced to dust. He sought to teach people about reality of life and have no material attachment, do not believe in rituals but become rational observer and thinker. But his every philosophy, work, preachings and efforts has gone in vain. He stood against worship of form of god and rituals to attain nirvana but these fools have made him God itself instead of accepting him and his teachings as Guru and sadly disseminating his original philosophy.
Yes, truth told, read or taught are not the same as truth discovered, seen and experience by oneself that satisfy the "Ehipassiko" doctrine. Like Sariputta's reply that Buddha's teachings (of the truth) are not to be accepted unless by chance one discovered, seen and experienced it by oneself and oneself only.
Just as mara came in many forms to deceive, truth also must come in many to enlighten..discernment 🗡

Buddha I believe acknowledged God. He is credited with renouncing the claim of God. I believe if Buddha knew Mara He would know the source, and by that he would have known Jesus if not of His coming. Then again, maybe he did not accept Jesus, I don't know because I was not there. I do know Jesus says not to judge, and I have met this being Mara, I can say that this Mara is the actual devil so there must have been hope that Buddha knew God.

Buddhists can be Atheists just as they can be Polytheists or Monotheists.
Buddha is similar to Jesus on many ways, he also defeated the temptations of Mara, the manifestation of Negative energy.
Like how Jesus defeated the temptations of the Devil.
Personally I am a Christian and a Buddhist at the same time, believe me, Christianity and Buddhism complement one another very well, I never felt closer to God before than by applying the Buddhist philosophy to my Christian faith.
@@Manoatevarua I am Christian too and I believe Buddha was an amazing figure , who has never failed to fascinate me Yet, for me, the foundamental difference between he and Jesus is that by reaching enlightenment, Siddhartha showed us how to feel compassion for all creatures and resistance to the temptations of our ego, But Jesus... Jesus died an excruciating death to save us all from sin. When he was tempted by the devil, he knew what he was going to face: horrible sufference and death. But he did it anyway, because through his death, he was setting an example of a man deafeating temptation even when the price to pay was the highest possible. I cannot imagine a highest form of compassion and love, a love only a God made man can show. I believe God came into our world through Jesus to understand human suffering and temptation, in order to love us even more and be compassionate toward our weakness.
