- It's a big mistake to assume Russian President Vladimir Putin is a "psychopath" as there is no evidence to suggest that he is, according to clinical psychologist Dr Jordan Peterson.
Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan asked Dr Peterson whether former US president Donald Trump could be a "psychopath".
"I don't think that he's a psychopath," Dr Peterson said.
"It's very easy to demonise someone that you don't approve of.
"I think it's a mistake to assume that Trump is a psychopath - I think it's a big mistake.
"I think it's a big mistake to assume that Putin is a psychopath - I think it's easy to do that but I don't think the evidence suggests that. You don't want to throw those labels around casually."

I understand them to be the same mental disorder, but it is called psychopathy when it turns violent. Certainly once it causes murder. Putin is a case in point.
Psychopaths and sociopaths have very similar traits. The difference is that sociopathic behaviors are usually learned in early childhood usually caused by some great emotional trauma.
Psychopaths are born that way. Their brains didn't fully develop the part that allows them to have empathy for others. All mammals seem to have some capacity for empathy. Reptiles are lacking in that area. You can raise a snake from the time that it was born but it is incapable of developing any emotional feelings for you. It knows who you are, but would kill you at the drop of a hat.
