+Tiffany Rabbitt only dumb question is one that isn't asked! You should figure 8 after every cast because Muskies can and often do come out of nowhere and strike. This is especially true for darker water.
Is it my imagination or are some bucktails more difficult to engage the blades and keep them engaged? I am having a heck of a time keeping smooth bladed bucktails vs their dimpled bladed bucktails going from one manufacturer in particular. They are a nice bucktail but I can’t seem to keep get the smooth ones to consistently engage and keep going.
good video.. i just got some apache triple blades because they are easier for me to pull/throw and dont tire me out like double tens do (using triple 8's) would you say the kramer new blade bait is easier to retrieve? i have a bad back/shoulders from a car crash..
CrappieDev I only have the smaller Kramer right now the size 7. It pulls great! Very smooth. Even bulging it (without a power handle) it was very easy to pull. I'm sure the larger ones are just as easy. I think you will enjoy throwing them even with back & shoulder issues.
Nice vid boss ! Do you have any advice ? Im trying to figure.out what reel to use for double 9s and 10s , the lowest ratio i have is my abu c3 6500 , and people have been saying that wont work ? The only other resl i have at the moment is a diawa 300hsl , im really not too sure what to do here lol
+Daniel Fetchak there is a lot of debate that they can see colors and others say contrast. All of the studies I have read show that they can indeed see color but the contrast plays a larger part.
Thank you, really looking into musky fishing this season since I moved up here to NE Ohio. Kinda nervous to be honest. I don't want to harm the fish. Appreciate your teaching of this species.
+Daniel Fetchak I know a lot of guys that run 65 lbs. personally I run 80 lbs. I also don't use power pro. It bleeds and is in my opinion not a quality line. To each his own on that. I recommend Cortland Masterbraid.
Caiden The Muskie Kid Ramsell thank you so much for the advise I'm gonna order a few Kramer brothers revolution bucktails if I can I here supply and demand is very high.
Getting Crushed TV do you think you can do a video on catching Muskie during ice fishing season. Maybe something along the lines of migration patterns and the like
I know this is a couple years old now, but thank you for the solid info.
You’re welcome
Ooooow! Oh nice bro, good spinner's lures!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎣
Thanks Caiden I'm going to buy some Cortland masterbraid
Thanks for the response.
I am a newbie to the Musky game so please forgive the dumb question. Do you figure 8 every cast or just when you see something trailing your lure in.

Excellent tips video great share
Thanks! Appreciate your support!
ur helping me learn more so thank u sir ...very good stage presentation...keep up the good work my friend
Glad I'm able to help!
How heavy is the bucktail you use at 7:14?
No clue. If memory serves it is a Kramer bros #7 revolution. Their website may have the weight listed.
Nice video bro. Im from the Netherlands, and make my own bucktails for pike. i just love these things. do you buy them or diy?
I don’t have the patience to build them personally. I just pick up a few favorites from time to time or friends/sponsors make them for me.
Would these work well for Pike?
Yep!
Awesome!

Sometimes you have to tweak the clevises to get them to run smooth.

lower gear for bigger blades. Just like pulling a trailer, you want torque, not speed.
Is it proven that Musky's can see colors or just shades Caiden?

Is there a swivel on the end of your leader to help with the ease of changing out lures?
+Rodney Anthony staylock snap.

+Rodney Anthony just use your best judgement. Sounds like you are on the right track with your mindset! Have a great season!
im wondering whats a good baitcaster to go musky and pike fishing with?=
+toby baconator personally I prefer shimano calcuttas. There are lots of good options on the market
is 65 pound power pro braid to light for musky im a new musky fisherman and I'm just starting to buy the equipment I need.

You said your using 80lb. braid. What lb. is the flurocarbon?
150
How did you determine what lb. level fluro you needed to use. Why not 100 lb. or 60 lb.
What pound test on that leader?
GregK9 150
You don't said anything about that lead weight on your line
What lead weight?
Getting Crushed TV what is that stuff between your leader and line, looking like big split shot
No. My leaders have loop protectors on the ends. No weights. www.huskiemuskie.ca
they catch the wind on the cast and rev. decreasing casting distance.
+TPHVICTIMS ??
What brand rod is that?
The blue one?
Yes what combo are you using
I don’t use that set up anymore...currently my go to rod is a 9’-6” heavy action KT Professional Edge Custom Rod paired with a tranx 500 HG

Very doubtful
Serpentine
+readallen huh?
