For Normal I'm going to try something I've wondered about, I'm not going to use any UTs or ETs the whole time and only use combos for getting essence. I won't be repeating fights or farming outside of timed encounters. Question is do you think everything can be obtained in a run while doing this? I still think so but it will be close, the UF alone will cost about half of the money in the game just FYI. It is entirely possible as I have had friends do it, it just takes a while is all and after a bit of time you really wish you had some UT's to speed up the experience.
There's a bunch of things here that I didn't even know of. To go back to the underground one of two times for long battles was never an option to me. Amazing that people found this. I feel a bit old here but I REALLY would love reboot of Ninja Gaiden. Not sure of Tecmo or Team Ninja really want's too though. Maybe we hardcore fans are hard to please? Itagaki seems to really be the cornerstone of the development of the first two games too...
If you are familiar with the game, it was to get Essence for the kill that he can then use to jumpstart the skirmishes with immediate Technique attacks (essentially Supers). If you’re not familiar with the game, Essence are the colored orbs you see. You either naturally absorb by being near them or press a button to absorb them to do Technique attacks, of which there are 2 levels. Yellow is your default, which also acts as your currency. You need 1 Yellow Essence for level 1 technique and at 2 for the level 2/Ultimate technique (absorbing more than 2 does not yield additional benefits). 1 blue/red orb counts as 2 yellow and thus you only need 1 of those to do a level. However, if you absorb blue/red Essence to do Ultimate Technique attacks, you forfeit gaining health (blue) or replenishing Ninpo/Magic (red). There’s a lot more nuances at play, but these are the basics. Anyway, the reason why he’s so reliant on doing super attacks is due to the bonus points you get while the timer is active: 2,000 for level 1, 5,000 for level 2, let alone that they are also an effective way to kill enemies within the time allotted, to get the additional 10,000 points bonus. This is one of the core foundations of getting a Master Ninja rank.
Hes doing it because everytime he kills the crow the charge up charges up faster instead of charging up slowly, And hes doing the Master ninja challenge
I noticed that you weren't saving, does that affect the ranking at the end or you just have so much confidence on your self that you are not going to die.

i use to love replaying the first mission on master ninja. Love the rush of facing all those harder ninjas while being relatively underpowered.

I think it is possible since you are going for 100% that includes the fiend challenges, etc. And if anyone can do it. JTB do it :)
I do think so especially if you're going to be doing every single encounter including the ambush challenges
