Delightful taste-testers! I think they gave very candid and accurate feedback. I think the 'tricks and techniques' you employed made their analysis more positive than it would have been without them (butter/garlic sauce continuously spooned over the cooking vegimeat (or vegimite?). Like one of them said, they'd eat it again if YOU cooked it! An enjoyable watch.
I just tried this, and I thought the flavour reminded me of corned beef rather than steak... but I've been vegan for many years now so it's a long time since I had either!
Interesting. But don't be afraid to try changing people's mind. Why always put that in there as a disclaimer? It's as if it's forbidden in large parts of America to be progressive on this issue. Why are American reactionaries so fragile? the same fragility they project unto everyone else.
Vegans choose not to consume animal products for various reasons, such as ethical concerns related to animal welfare, environmental sustainability, or health considerations. While they may choose not to eat meat for personal reasons, they may still enjoy the taste and texture of meat or miss certain dishes they used to enjoy before becoming vegan. Creating plant-based meat alternatives allows vegans to enjoy familiar flavors and textures without compromising their ethical stance or dietary choices. These products offer a way for vegans to enjoy the experience of eating meat-like foods without contributing to animal suffering or the environmental impacts associated with animal agriculture.
@@dolorousjohn5499 The ethical dilemma maybe too complex for you to understand lol. The ethical reasons of why NOT to eat meat are obvious: animals are raised and killed in cruel conditions; grain that could feed hungry people is fed to animals; the need for pasture fuels deforestation; and by eating meat, one is implicated in the killing of a sentient being.
Just because something looks appetizing when it’s cooked, doesn’t make it good. Seeing it raw, it looked like a turd cut across the ‘grain’. I hope to not ever run out of cows, I’d eat a dog or even a raccoon if it came to needing meat for protein. Meanwhile, non manufactured vegetarian food is perfectly acceptable. Rib eye. I avoid tenderloin mostly because it’s too expensive, but it’s not as flavorful as every other less popular cut.
Meet is causing cancer and is as worse for you health as most processed vegetarian foods. Best Protein source for humans is plant based. Get your facts straight and don’t be so naive.
Interesting, that was a good test.
Thank you! Cheers!

I think so too. My taste testers were awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I'm not vegan, but if someone like Tom expertly prepares it, Ill give it a shot. Based on their reactions, it looks pretty good!
those are very kind words, thank you!
Im going to try these!
Very cool. I think it’s delicious

I think your are accurate. Some folks think it taste like corned beef with the texture of carnitas.
I just had one of these and it was pretty tasty. Biggest obstacle to enjoyment is the cost.
Great video Tom, if someone gave me this i would be mad lol jk 😂😂
😁

Let's start eating 🐛 now ...
Bugs? I’ve tried them. Spicy crickets. They were good but never had them since.
I can't understand why people who hate meat want to eat meat so bad
Vegetarians are veggie cos they don’t want to kill animals, not cos they don’t like the taste. Pretty simple mate
Coz they want meat eaters to stop eating real meat. This ‘food’ is for the likes of me and you. Bill Gates and co get the proper stuff.

@@itseldon There is no ethical dilemma in eating meat.

That is not a filet mignon and it looks leans with no fat and it looks fat and red on the inside and burnt. Doesn't even cut like a steak

I tend to gravitate towards ribeye too. Second favorite would probably be a porterhouse and third steak picanha
