In Europe we have very little products like this but the numbers are constantly growing which is awesome. But hey, the fact your homemade steak scored so high is just amazing - the best compliment! Secondly: CONGRATULATIONS on the sauce! Considering you've put so much work and though into it, combined with your insane understanding of flavor combination this must be a fantastic product! Keeping my fingers crossed you get to expand the range at some point!

We received our two bottles today and I am pretty stoked. It reminds me a bit of the Japanese Tonkatsu "Bulldog" sauce, something I grew up with. A bit of fruity sweetness and some tasty heat. Nice. Totally going to put it on the next plant based burger.

I watched this video a day ago and loved it like I do all your videos. Today while shopping I noticed my local store just got the eat meati Carne Asada steaks. So because of the reviews on this video I didn’t hesitate to pick them up for my kiddo. We’re trying to find options she genuinely enjoys.

@@SauceStache you probably don't want to hear this but have you tried adding something like a vegan gelatin to your meat broths. I think animal products and bones produce a gelatinous structure that allows fat and broth to stick to the meat a little.
I’m vegan, so I’m not trying to put-off anyone from going vegan - but growing up, my mom would feed our German Shepherd food that smelled a lot like some vegan foods. I think it was a “meat” substitute. That was about 50 years ago! On the other hand, WE would have meat with every meal. And I snacked on some of the worse…liverwurst, Devil Ham (short of like spam but spreadable), etc. My mom cooked healthy, and she ate frugally, while I ate like a trucker but with a high metabolism - we both remain-ed slender. My mom (not vegan) lived to be 102 … With all her physical and mental facilities, with no medications. Go figure:)
I wish you hand a link to were you can purchase theses meat replacements to try for ourselfs. I live in an area that doesn't have good shopping choices for vegan/plant basted eating. Thanks, having meat eaters testing is very helpful.
I love how yours always came out on top! No surprise there though. I have always liked the different taste of beyond meat but am not a big fan of their ingredients.
haha you know I was a little bummed that it was the top one across the board because I was worried everyone would just dismiss the video since these are all my friends, but in the end it was the version that got eaten the most... after the video I made tacos for everyone and they finished off the homemade version over the rest of them. @@SauceStache I think that's telling though. Your whole channel is about making these things for ourselves, and when we do we get a better result. Plus we control the ingredients for healthier versions. I have used your techniques countless times and they have upgraded my meat substitutes.

My thought behind it was that none of these people really knew any of these brands as none of them commonly buy vegan meat products... so to know which was which didnt seem to matter. I also said the names so when I was editing I could quickly get to the spot I needed to get for the edit and knew which product they were trying at the time. I am upset that mine came in first and was hoping for a more even playing field. I asked everyone to be brutally honest with no hard feelings, but you can't help if people are a little bias. (besides not telling them which looking back I wish I would have said it after.) I do think the juiciness level is what sold it over the other brands. Mine did have a feeling of fattiness to it that gave it a little more authenticity than say the beyond or the Nasoya. (even though in my opinion they were really great too) nothing in this video was paid for or advertised besides my sauce. So it wouldn't have mattered if the beyond or meati came in first. The only (Ad) was my new sauce that I was excited about sharing.

Awesome review, feels very honest. As a vegan I watch a lot of Guga's videos too as they are quite entertaining, but they are often biased against vegan alternatives (there has been an exception or two).

The Trader Joe’s bulgogi is the #1 vegan beef product imo. This is the first video of yours I’ve watch since finding out you weren’t vegan. I’m glad you’re still promoting vegan friendly products. Also, you look soooo different…in a good way! Weight doesn’t equate to health tho. Anyways good video!
Highly recommend rehydration Beyonfmd's jerky -- that's got the best texture I've seen in a vegan steak (especially compared to the Beyond Steak, which I find too mushy)
The “Unreal deli meat” Ms Goldfarbs, is great as a standard sandwich without heat. Or as a pan fried cheesesteak. But drying to hard, and letting it sit and dry out isn’t the way.
Yes very true!! So Ive tried to like it cold a few times, but it's just too dry for me. When it's cooked in a little oil it comes out better just my opinion. I was refreshing the "meat" between takes so everyone got a fresh ish version

100% thats what I think happened... mine was juicy and almost had a fattiness to it that the others just didnt have. The meati texture to me is spot on but it's almost too done.. like if I could figure out the meati process I think it could be done a little better as far as its juicy level!
So sorry!!! This is the first run!! Working out logistics and learning a lot of new things in this process! International is one of them and it's very difficult for a food product! Working on ideas though

Can I request a video? I am trialling some vegan/vegetarian sandwiches and I'd absolutely love some ideas for high protein sandwiches that are very quick to make. At the moment I have salad sandwiches with a slice of fake ham or something but I'd rather have something tastier.
You should have told them what they were after they ate all of them, that way you'd get an unbiased opinion. Though I get this was an Ad, so i suppose they had to say yours was good! Great job with the sauce though!
I was hoping them knowing wouldn't affect their opinion... but nothing about the steaks was sponsored... so no matter what any of the steaks ranked it wouldn't have changed my sauce. I was surprised that everyone like the homemade steak the best, but I do think it was because it was simpler and less after taste than the other steaks
if you guys have a trader joes near you BUY THE BEEFLESS BULGOLGIIIIIII im not vegan but i eat vegan whenever i can its the majority of my diet but i prefer the beefless bulgogi over real steak i literally buy a bunch and keep in the freezer as steak ready to be added to a dish i love the texture and taste its not bulgogi apple pear flavored i feel its just flavored as a normal steak season it up if you want its heaven and now i also have to try the ones on this video
Ohh nice tip!!! I'll check it out, I think I saw it there last time I went.... I dont know if all trader joes are like this but it's like my least favorite place. Its always packed... like way to many people in a small building, and the isles are really narrow and everyone is kinda running into each other. I feel like I need to know exactly what I want and exactly where it is when I go otherwise im going to get ran over. I try to avoid it. but some of the stuff they have makes it worth it to go every now and then haha

@@SauceStache Actually no, things are still quite a bit expensive for me. I stick mainly to meatless chicken and occasionally meatless fish. I wanna try the beyond and Meati though. when it eventually becomes available over here in Connecticut.

The Trader Joe’s bulgogi is the #1 vegan beef product imo. This is the first video of yours I’ve watch since finding out you weren’t vegan. I’m glad you’re still promoting vegan friendly products. Also, you look soooo different…in a good way! Weight doesn’t equate to health tho. Anyways good video!

Highly recommend rehydration Beyonfmd's jerky -- that's got the best texture I've seen in a vegan steak (especially compared to the Beyond Steak, which I find too mushy)

The “Unreal deli meat” Ms Goldfarbs, is great as a standard sandwich without heat. Or as a pan fried cheesesteak. But drying to hard, and letting it sit and dry out isn’t the way.
Yes very true!! So Ive tried to like it cold a few times, but it's just too dry for me. When it's cooked in a little oil it comes out better just my opinion. I was refreshing the "meat" between takes so everyone got a fresh ish version

I think the marinating really steps up the juiciness level whereas the others are probably more dried out.
100% thats what I think happened... mine was juicy and almost had a fattiness to it that the others just didnt have. The meati texture to me is spot on but it's almost too done.. like if I could figure out the meati process I think it could be done a little better as far as its juicy level!

Can I request a video? I am trialling some vegan/vegetarian sandwiches and I'd absolutely love some ideas for high protein sandwiches that are very quick to make. At the moment I have salad sandwiches with a slice of fake ham or something but I'd rather have something tastier.

I was hoping them knowing wouldn't affect their opinion... but nothing about the steaks was sponsored... so no matter what any of the steaks ranked it wouldn't have changed my sauce. I was surprised that everyone like the homemade steak the best, but I do think it was because it was simpler and less after taste than the other steaks

if you guys have a trader joes near you BUY THE BEEFLESS BULGOLGIIIIIII im not vegan but i eat vegan whenever i can its the majority of my diet but i prefer the beefless bulgogi over real steak i literally buy a bunch and keep in the freezer as steak ready to be added to a dish i love the texture and taste its not bulgogi apple pear flavored i feel its just flavored as a normal steak season it up if you want its heaven and now i also have to try the ones on this video
Ohh nice tip!!! I'll check it out, I think I saw it there last time I went.... I dont know if all trader joes are like this but it's like my least favorite place. Its always packed... like way to many people in a small building, and the isles are really narrow and everyone is kinda running into each other. I feel like I need to know exactly what I want and exactly where it is when I go otherwise im going to get ran over. I try to avoid it.
but some of the stuff they have makes it worth it to go every now and then haha
