When I saw Zimbabwe in the discription, it peaked my interest having spent the first 40 years of my life in that part of the world. The initial 20 years, in one of the Tribal Trust Lands of Rhodesia populated by the Ndebele, thus had a reasonable grasp of their language and understanding of their culture. Anyway, there has always been mystery and myth regarding the various ruins found in that part of the world. Not only is there the Zimbabwe ruins, there are others, for example Khami ruins and what were known as the slave pits in the Inyanga. Over the years, I have read a variety of interpretations regarding the speculated history of these ruins. The main learnig form these readings is the sanitisation and censorship of history. Silver lining to this has been a healthy sense of sceptism with regard to recent and current events. I abstained from the vaccine, haven't bought into the climate cult, perplexed that our taxes are being used to finance forever wars and may the WEF and Davos man be damned.
I can only imagine the things you've seen there. I hope to one day visit.
As for the rest, I'm with ya brother. I've got nothing but curse words for those entities you mentioned and a selection of others that seem intent on erasure.

I haven't heard Oliver's views , but from here in the US, my confused impression of Scottish Independence is they seem to want to cede authority to the EU, rather than sieze it for themselves...a novel notion if my understanding is correct.

Hi Neil. I live in South Africa. The people you describe that build that city, is definitely not black. Don't know who build it but I can assure you it's not them. There is not one building in SA that was build by black people or in our naboring countries. Not being racist, but buildings like that is beyong their capability. Love your shows. Thanks.

Love your videos Neil. You have been tarred as 'far right' etc. and put on the cancel list but please don't resort to virtue signalling as a means of becoming more acepted again. There have been countless invasions throughout history, pretty much non-stop, across every continent, and every invader exploited someone or other. Every powerful civilsation did this, long before the British - yet you describe Rhodes as a robber. This buys into the narrative that only the British, of all colonisers, were exploitative and bad. You know full well we were like gentlement compared to the Spanish, Portugeuse etc. in fact every empire before us. You know perferctly well that we spearheaded the much higher moral code that the entire world now takes forgranted.

Interesting watching this after having just watched the final episode of The Grand Tour. Definitely someplace I really do hope to visit if I don't run out of time and have enough $.
I am proud to say I lived in Rhodesia and visited the great Zimbabwe Ruins many years ago.
I studied the Bantu... Have research documents on them. On rhe surface you can see the whole world in their features... Black , white, Chinese, etc. But only them. People think Africa is a country lol. Its a continent of different RACES. Remember that reader.

Surely the Phoenicians were there too (they were all over the ancient world, mining copper, tin, gold but also building structures.). If they were in Wales/Ireland for tin why not Monomotapa for gold (and we're talking BC here). They were employed by various kings in the ancient world (Carthage, Egypt) for construction, so maybe also employed by Monomotapan kings to build the Zimbabwes?
And then there are the Khami Ruins near Bulawayo. I've been to both. More likely built by foreign traders?

The Ndebele ARE Zulu. They were a breakaway army under Mzilikazi who was a big general in the Zulu army. They speak the same language, same culture and customs. Mugabwe was Shona and tried to slaughter many. My husband lives in Edinburgh and did a show about the Shona during Edinburgh International Festival. He’s got all the traditional oral history plus the white history via private school education in Joburg

Neil I live in KwaZulu Natal. What has always fascinated me is the similarity between IsiZulu and Latin. The words upi and ubi both mean where. The thinking is this is a hangover from the ancient Roman slave trade.
Not slave trade -- certainly not solely -- but Rome had extensive trade ties deep in Africa. Known trade and military agreements with the Queen of Numibia during the Punic Wars, for instance; the Ethiopian Empire was far larger than the Roman Empire, and one of its largest trading partners (silk from China and spices from India, for example).
If you look up the book, _1187 B.C.,_ you'll find a fascinating history of the end of the bronze age and what tied together nations from the headwaters of the Nile to Turkey, Crete, and Mycenaea. All archeologically and historically accurate.
While civilization collapsed, the peoples and many of their works did not; rather, they went from expansive trade to isolation. Mines might shut down for lack of buyers, but the deposit of minerals was still there.

If they'd been left alone for another ten thousand years they might have advanced to our dark ages. Imagine knights and castles in Africa. They lacked the ability to make a straight wall or two story building let alone a proper Roman palace. Their history wasn't "stolen", they were lifted up thousands of years ahead of their abilities. The Africans subjugated each other long before the British arrived.

So interesting how Rhodes establishes the railway from south Africa to North Africa, the insinuation is that technology of travel is made available to Africa, when in reality, the rail road was a way of taking the resources north to England. Colonialism is responsible for so much that is now happening to the common folk of England.

19:45 Thinking aloud , Neil - this was going on at the same time as our Norman mates were building castles and cathedrals -yet by the 1400s we were no longer building in those styles. By the end C16th peoples were no longer living in the shadow of the Castle . Look at some of the massive castles in Northumberland and how they were abandoned at around the same time. Thus, if one looked retrospectively at the archeology one might assume/conclude that such a civilization crumbled and disappeared. But it didn't really, it evolved into something else...
You'd think if people died there from massacre, mayhem or murder their remains would be there, but if over time they upped sticks and moved elsewhere, taking most useful stuff with them, then what will remain? And what generally happens to ruins & abandoned property, squatters & scavengers move in, so anything of use or interest will probably be trashed...

The Lemba have always kept aloof from other clans, marrying within the clan, and have traditions reminicent of Kosher traditions, a recent DNA scan of clan members show most of the men carry the "Aaron gene" indicating a Jewish influence, the mitochondrial genetics are purely Shona.
