I enjoyed this. I’m a small silver collector, and I enjoy listening to people talk about silver.

I am hoping this series ends up with close to a dozen videos. Plan to make #2 in the next week or so.

My best friend in the 80's-early 90's used to love to go by Beverly Bremer's every time he went to Atlanta, which was pretty regular in the time before we became friends in 1983. One of my favorite stories of his was he had taken his coin silver tea set with him on one visit to show off at the shop, but at night went out clubbing leaving the tea set in the trunk of his car. He came back to find someone had broken into the car to steal the change of clothing he had left visible on the seat. There was a button in the glove box that would open the trunk, but miraculously, the thief hadn't bothered. I attribute my love for china, silver and glassware to him and his impeccable hosting skills. Also learned the great value of the five o'clock spoon at one of his afternoon teas.

I didn't expect that giant spoon to be considered a tea spoon. That was a surprise.
We had a hot cocoa spoon but I never used it because of how awkward it was when eating food. Guess I was using it for the wrong purpose. 🤣

Yes, that big spoon really isn't big at all. It is the smaller ones making it look big in the picture. It was is 6 inches (actually probably 5 7/8")

I was so happy to see a new video - it has been so long. Glad also that you spoke about the spoons and their use - very interesting. Thank you.
I had asked some time ago about salt spoons and salt wells and their placement at a formal setting since there are so many accoutrements already in place there doesn't seem to be a "proper" place for the well and salt spoon. Perhaps you can show where they are placed. Yes, I do know they are no longer in use. Thank you again.

My family still uses them quite often:). I plan to cover the salt spoon in a future video. We can also cover where it goes. Glad you liked the video!

I still use a wee salt spoon. I had no idea there's a specific placement for it. Roll on spoons part ii

You mentioned the demitasse spoon being used for pots de creme, thank you. Which spoon would you use for dessert? Size?

There is an oval Soup/Dessert spoon that is not in this video (it will be in the soup spoon video that will come out in the next few months). Also, there are some other speciality spoons such as pap spoons for fruit and one of my favorites, the ice-cream spoon.
