I so agree with the Key part, there's NO ONE is the industry who could encapsulate a concept like he does. The queer part of him is genuine, as she said it's not an imitation, it's not a gimmick (like some other idols) He incorporates that Key essence queerness to his concepts and his art and from what I've seen even his mindset and daily life. He is indescribable because he himself at the core is a unique individual
I agree so much with this!!! Key and Taemin’s solos and the way they perform their arts feel like such a warm embrace for queer people who might also go through gender dysphoria like myself, the way that they can show how they can break gender boundaries in such a personal and genuine way… they’re not appropriating queerness but giving it an amazing platform to shine and show it in such a rich and creative way…. im forever grateful to have become a shinee fan, i feel connected to so many queer shawols due to this amazing shared experience ❤

i saw quotes from this video on twitter and was very surprised to see such content from Korean production, because i usually only see international fans discussing these themes, but also mostly jokingly, not to assume anything. but i am so glad i decided to watch the whole video and discovered this channel! i watched the rest of the pitchings about other idols and learned about some points i didn't know about! now i've subscribed and excited for new content. also i can practice and learn Korean queer slang from these videos haha thank you for putting up eng subtitles!
I was hoping you would talk about Key! He’s so quintessential. I love all his camp concepts and how he incorporates non-gender confirming aspects to his fashion, choreos, and overall imagery. His most recent album images are really cool and you can see he starts out stuck in an office setting with a suit and then gradually becomes freer and rebelling and his final form goes beyond the gender-binary. I really like the new b-sides especially Mirror, Mirror and CoolAs tracks and the CoolAs choreo like helium and bound incorporates a lot of moves inspired by queer- created dances.
I noticed most of them are SM idols lol Anyways, SM idols really played a role in my life since I was a kid. I really grew up looking up to them. I became a fan of SNSD in 2009 and that led me to figuring out my sexuality.

So she stopped mentioning it but she never admitted to being LGBTQ or she would have been out after she left SM and went back to America to develop her solo career. I can’t subscribe to this channel because there is a vast difference between “camp” “drag” “performance “ & the word queer…fandoms already for a long time especially international fans, don’t understand SM artists work with choreographers that use a camp aesthetic. So the word “queer” is…well these artists themselves haven’t come out as Queer. Maybe the show needs to go into a history of Queer politics, I’m watching this & thinking….whacking is a dance style taught by choreographers. It doesn’t mean the artist is queer themselves.
