There is soooo much to be said about Mamamoo and their impact in the LGBTQ+ community, and this moomoo did a very good job pitching what she could in a short amount of time. Really enjoyed the whole episode and hope a lot more people get to see this.
This really warmed my heart deeply ! Heejoo's presentation was really well thought through and I'm proud to see a moomoo representing us in this way ! I would signify non-moos that the video is still very far from covering all the queer aspects of Mamamoo (performing with gender fluid dancers, inviting drag queens on their MV, shooting casual videos with drag queens, being friends with tons of known queer people...)
I hope this video allows new people do discover the girls or even make casual listeners realise that with Mamamoo stanning is truly rewarding !
Don't forget the fact, that they openly go on stage or to fan meetings with rainbow flags, buttons and other things (thinking about you, Wheein, with your boy loves boy, girl loves girl shirt 🙂) when other groups aren't even allowed to pick up a rainbow flag thrown on the stage.
I'm not part of the community, but it makes me even more proud to be a MooMoo.

This was a beautiful video that really showed some of the reasons why mamamoo is so loved by us lgbt fans. Mamamoo helped me find a community of people like me from all around the world and they have always been so loud in their support of the community itself. Learning more about the korean rainbow moos and what they have done made me feel even more proud to be a fan. Never letting go 🫶🏼

Mamamoo performed with LGBTQ+ live on stage when they were just rookies and they also wore merch (I don’t remember if its from Rainbow Moomoo) that supports the spectrum
Moonbyul being so excited hearing girlfriend stories from the fans (knowing that a huge majority is female) that boyfriend stories. Mmm doesn’t even believe any story letters coming “from fans” (pd of the show gave them) if it starts with “my boyfriend”, saying “this is not from moomoos 😂”
I don’t remember clearly but there are interviews out there and whenever MMM talks about love, they don’t put gender, they just say “that person” or “significant other”
They genuinely are just such loving and open people 🤧 i hate that I can’t put into words how very warm and comforting they are; like an open sea, the starry skies, the warmth of the sun, and your favorite smell
I have also noticed that when the members talk to other idols, or do interviews, discussing the topic of dating they will be very vague and open, not assuming boyfriend or girlfriend but talking about a special somone. It may be a small thing but I think it makes a big difference.
actually about the second thing, since i assume you’re referring to stuff that was said on studio moon night, it was actually said somewhere on twitter that navernow was literally censoring the stories people were sending in by replacing words referencing female moos having girlfriends with “boyfriend” or similar. byul didn’t know about this but i do wonder if she learnt about it later and it factored into her decision to stop smn for now (i know it’s mostly bc of scheduling stuff but). everyone misses smn and navernow treated her well but i do hope if she works with them again someday that they don’t do anything like that again at least

Congrats to the moomoo for being able to present well about mamamoo. I think if she had 5-10 minutes more, she would be able to tell many more instances that mamamoo were kind to the lgbtq community. I hope mamamoo gets to watch this and know how many people they made happy with their music and also with their good personalities. 💛💙
The crazy thing is that even with all the amazing things spoken about in the presentation that Mamamoo has done that are queer or for/towards the lgbtq+ community there are so many other things they have done or said that werent mentioned. so much more

This is such a nice video, honestly probably there wasn't a more attendible moomoo than one of rainbow moomoo organization to explain the importance of mamamoo, it's just so incredible to have a group that tries to push boundaries and it's incredibly supportive of the community and in general about self love, mamamoo is someone who gets lot of backlash for who they are and their difference so it's always nice to see people praising them and showing their positive impact ❤

Never in my life did I once questioned my sexuality, but after discovering Mamamoo, they made me feel things towards women (same sex). But aside from that, it's actually not just attraction, but rather I understand women better. Like the members have different personalities that can represent my own feelings and other women's feelings. I just feel validated whenever they would speak about things. 😊 Women and queer empowerment indeed.

The moomoo did an amazing job explaining the essence of the group, there are so many things that the video could be an hour long.
Just want to point out other moments, like when mamamoo worked with drag queens several times, they all wore clothes from lgbt+ brands, mamamoo+ went to a webshow hosted by a trans woman, and recently mamamoo+ changed the dangdang lyrics from shy boy to shy girl in music shows.
These are just a few moments from the groups but each member always show their support individually as well. I'm so proud of being a moomoo, it's a safe space for sure 🥰

as a queer mamamoo fan who’s stanned since 2018 from USA, this video is really so touching. The presentation by Heejoo was really well made and captured the Queer charms of Mamamoo. I’m really glad that there’s such visibility to these Queer topics and such an amazing group like Mamamoo. The description of each Mamamoo members charm is so accurate, you really can’t choose one of them as your bias as they all resonate with you and are just such good people. The pitch really sums up what I love about Mamamoo. What 희주 said about not looking for an LGBTQI+ group but just being apart of one is so true. When I was introduced to them, I didn't know I was queer yet. I just enjoyed their music, their charisma, their passion. Then once I figured it out, everything clicked into place.
I'm only 2yrs younger than Moonbyul, but she has helped me more than she will ever know. Watching her just be completely comfortable in her skin, inspires me to do the same. When she wears more traditionally masculine items, I realise that it's okay for me to do so as well. So even though I am nearly 29, I can look towards Mamamoo as a whole for inspiration and before them I never connected with celebrities in this way. So it's special to me.
I also flew over to see them in Seoul back in June for MicOn Encore and I'm so glad I did. I started tearing up when it began because I finally got to see them live after all these years and it hit me. I even wrote a sign that Moonbyul saw at the very end of the show. These women mean a lot to me :)

This so perfectly encompasses why I got drawn in so deeply by Mamamoo in the first place. First draw was their voices, then their music, then as I got to know more about the members and the way they so loudly and proudly embrace and support their queer fans, I really could never look back. I'd love to see this series done with Sunmi too but part of me worries about what if the person doing the presentation doesn't do a good enough job somehow lol. She also embraces and supports us so proudly and openly that people once misunderstood her as coming out herself... she didn't let that stop her from showing her support all the same.
my life also takes a more positive path everyday from seeing mamamoo. they've allowed me to meet some of the best people online and the community is so warm and welcoming and we can all be ourselves freely. i hope mamamoo know how much impact they've had in lgbt fans lives and that we'll be forever grateful. i love mamamoo until the end of times

It's really great that even outside of the examples listed in this video, Mamamoo as a group and in their solo careers have shown so much public support for queers and queer Moomoos! So satisfying to revisit this video 8 months later after seeing Solar work with ballroom dancers (House of Love) for a whole gay club song + diversity being the main theme of her album. Being a Moomoo is an endless well of happiness, happy pride month everybody ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I love all the members, but Moonbyul is my bias. She was the member that called to me the most and just kept getting my attention no matter what she was going in the MV or performance. I love how she has honed and embraced the image of her own making- an image no one forced on her. Androgynous, charming, charismatic, funny, kind, believes dance and music should not be constrained by gender. Solar is my primary bias wrecker. Her go getter attitude, her laugh, energy, voice, kind, Yeba.
I will never cease to be amazed at how through someone else's eyes, you can get to know Mamamoo in a new way 😊

Ah i love this so much. this is one of the reasons that made me start listening to mamamoo's songs, is that they don't shy away from expressing their love and support for lgbt+ community ❤
Other things mamamoo has done for lgbt+ community!
- All of them have bought & worn merch to support rainbow moomoos
- In 2016, just 2 years into their career, they performed at MMA with a genderfluid dance crew & actually let them take the stage first
- In 2017, before they had a secure career, they performed at Lezhin live, a broadcast for lezhin comics who was in a controversy & being boycotted for supporting lgbt contents & having ties to feminist groups
- they had a drag queen guest in their hip music video and solar did a makeup UA-cam video with them without mentioning anything related to drag queens as click bait
-Moonbyul wrote a letter every year to rainbow moos on national coming out day until 2020
- Solar has worn a pride & no prejudice shirt which donates $10 to an lgbtq+ company called GLSEN and other rainbow merch
- Hwasa has worn a gay shirt which
donates 15% of profits to suicide of gay people among heaps of other lgbtq+ merch
- Wheein has worn a “boys that like girls, girls who like boys, boys that like boys, girls who like girls” shirt on stage TWICE
- never changing pronouns in songs & always using gender inclusive language
- solar & moonbyul re recording their song ddang ddang from “hey shy boy, come on shy boy” to “hey shy girl, come on shy boy” after they saw their fans preferred it
- posing a lot in front of rainbow flags
- and more! This was to list some of them but I know there’s a lot I haven’t included, and this isn’t even for what they’ve done for feminism, other religions, their support for other races, and for the disabled community
also their mv for chico malo had a sapphic storyline and even though ggbb has the word "boy" in it, they still acted coupley together in the MV. their company can't stop them from being queer lmao

I already felt so proud to be called a moomoo after some years in the radish farm but this clip totally made me feel prouder of it. I felt so many emotions watching this video. To be in this fandom truly makes you feel that sense of community with one another. Love how one of the panelists explained how our girls feel like family that we don't want to let go easily as I also feel that too many times since becoming a moomoo. Mamamoo is that part of my life now that brings so much comfort and happiness to my days. I'm truly thankful for them as a group and as the very kind-hearted, thoughtful, and beautiful individuals that each of them are. Even if up to this day, I still can't find myself opening up about my sexuality around my family, I feel truly welcome to stay true to myself in the meantime stanning these incredible girls.
Also, I've actually followed Rainbow Moomoo since a long time ago. As an international fan, I just follow them from afar, so their image is like a mysterious but precious safe space organization, this is my first time actually see one of the Rainbow Moomoo founders, she's so cool and I can feel her genuine love towards Mamamoo. Being an OT4, not being able to choose a bias is such a special uniqueness of a long time moomoo too 💚💚💚💚

It is kind of sad to see that some people started to lose interest in them. As a kind of new Moomoo I wish more people would recognise how important and great they are. I was in such a dark place last year I really thought it would be the end of me, but like a miracle I saw some compilation - Mamamoo are comedians on something like that... I never saw any K-Pop I didn't know who they are or what K-Pop is. I fell in love with them as people and then I heard their music and that was it I knew I would love these women. Now looking back I am so grateful to them, they literally saved my life. I will never forget that. Thank you Mamamoo

Mamamoo makes so many people happy. They are so thoughtful they make us feel like they will always be by our side through tick and thin. They have showed their love through many ways. They have been homes to many people that when we feel sad nervous or anything we turn towards them to make our selfs feel better. This is why I am a moomoo because the love isn’t just one sided. Such a beautiful video! Heejoo definitely captured the queen experience of being a mamamoo fan so accurately and clearly. I'll be honest and say that mamamoo has had a large part of shaping my queer idenitity as a Sapphic and how I view relationships by women.
And I find it really funny that any of their examples ko go beyond like 30 mins I'd we really want to get into queer support and love in general (ie. Friendships with drag queens, queer media influence and so on)

Really amazing video! Really encapsulates their charms and appeal to the prominent queer/women demographic they have, and you can tell they've embraced that. It's no joke how many moos got to meet their significant others through mamamoo lol I've met a few great friends I still keep close with all these years now. It's amazing how accepting and open of a community was built from the start, unlike any fandom dynamics I've ever seen before.

A veces esto puede caer en lo comercial, sin embargo, Mamamoo se siente su sinceridad cuando hablan o se expresan sobre el tema, sobre todo en un país tan conservador, nunca es por estar de moda, o por ser "cool". Do you have any boy groups in mind? I don't listen to a lot of bgs, but after watching this, I am curious about what bgs are considered attractive by gay men(even though I am not one)
@@honeybeemoo oh I don't really know about gay men and I don't feel attracted to any bgs either (cause lesbian duh😄)anw, I think Kai & Taemin might be up there... like I've seen several vids about these two and I must say they both have a kind of androgynous beauty, both dance well and both seem calm/ gentle. I think gay men would like them. For a whole bg, let's just say SHINEE I guess 😅
@@honeybeemooACE come to mind. They have a very "queer vibe" so to say and specifically Byeongkwan has worn LGBT pins before on his clothes, he really knows what he stands for and I really love him for that ❤

stanning mamamoo and the moomoo fandom is one of the safest spaces i have been in online and in person (at concerts). thank you for this amazing video, it is a great homage to the queerness of mamamoo, one that is hard to put into words.
Im straight but after I became a moomoo, I really learned a lot about the LGBT community. I wasn't expecting this when I just decided to stan a kpop group😅 I'm actually questioning my sexuality after getting attracted by Moonbyul.

Thank you moomoo! If there is anything else I love aside from mamamoo, it's my fellow moomoos. If anyone here has been on mamamoo's con in the Philippines, we had an iconic moment before the girls came out. It was between two moomoos in the VIP area. One was dressed as a bride, the other dressed similar to Moonbyul from DSOTM era 😂 they didn't know each other that time and everyone in Araneta was just cheering for the two women. Now, I think they know each other better. 😉😉😉
