andy seems sooo nice.
Look who it is!
Praising yourself I see 😎
That's the sweetest guitar sound I have ever heard, and I've been playing (on an off) for 40 years.
By far one of my favorite guitarist. When I first watch drifting on UA-cam their was only a 100 views. But I was hooked on this guys music ever since
Andy is the nicest, most down to earth musician you'll ever meet. I did a workshop on this song back in 06 when he was touring the Maritimes with Don Ross and 'Brooke Miller. It was in Windsor, Nova Scotia prior to the UA-cam explosion. There were only two other people. Pretty amazing opportunity! His set that night was heavenly. He exudes joy.
I'm struck by how down to earth and "nice" Andy is. Seems like a super cool guy.
Besides weight loss the Andy's diet just makes him look like a whole new person. Watching his old videos you would think it was Andy's dad playing lol.
+CABdosdos I could see that. Way go Andy!
Its so awesome to finally know the story behind the man behind the music. I first heard this song like four or five years ago. Its about time he gets some recognition.
Not only is Andy McKee a guitar genius, but he's one of the kindest, most humble artists out there! Rock on, Andy! The world needs more amazing musicians like him! :-)
Does anyone know the song he played in the beginning? Or was he just going off the dome?
Tight trite night ;)
Even when he is tunning sounds good xD
taught me a lesson! This piece changed music. Brilliant.
im in love with his guitar.
where 's the lesson ?? è_________________è
i can play this song :D
loving the way the frets are angled and the nut and saddle as well..beautiful sound and great technique
This guy is amazing and an example of humble person. One of the few talents in acoustic guitar.
...uh....really great lesson... ?
***** right? ...I guess we did...lol...here's an idea: when you incorporate the word "lesson"....you must also incorporate other words like..."Here's how to..." or " You can do it like this...or whatever...lol...just a thought...
This video is to make you got to the website and get the video from there. Why would they host it on youtube? They won't get money that way.
...lol...because a million other people do? :P pshh..
It's their choice to do it this way, this isn't a first by any means.
...never the less, this video should be entitled "intro to the lesson you have to pay for"....otherwise, it's a traditional 'bait and switch' ...just sayin'..
sooo i'm supposed to just watch him play and this counts as a lesson?
this is just part 1
Great!! uff amazing thecnique. That guitar has incredible sound.
I am almost starting to cry. THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ACOUSTIC GUITAR TRACK!
4:04 for ungrateful impatient bastards as me :*
thanks
he's not even holding the guitar right. wat a n00b.
either you're trying to be a troll right now or you're just stupid, i think your just being stupid, you're not even spelling "what a noob right", what a noob
HmgXajVaj0JamesVang i completely agree with you
Guitars are made to make quality sound not to be held properly.
does his playing sound noobish to you??
Daniel Cantwell
I do believe Larry is joking.
Andy, you are the reason I picked up a guitar. Thank you man.
So freaking great you really can't put it into words
Dont bother watching, There is no "part 2/3/4"
THX -.-
man, you`re wrong
What is going on with that guitar neck ? It looks like something Salvador Dali dreamt up....very strange optically !!
+Petre .W. Fanned frets :)
BT Studio Productions Thankyou...do you know the purpose of them ??...
Petre .W.
I believe it is to make the intonation of the instrument more accurate. It also works in strengthening the tone of the lower strings by giving them a longer speaking string length. They can also enable a high string that can be tuned higher than is possible on a conventional guitar by giving it a shorter vibrating length, enabling a higher-tuned string that won't break under the tension.
@@petre.w.487 it's a microtonal guitar. They have been around since the dark ages
i really love his playing and his guitar!
amazing guitar player. He should get a lot more recognition, his music is so peaceful
Was the guy who made the guitar drunk??
watch Andy Mckee's video where he explains the fanned frets.
that guitar costs over 13 grand. thats why the frets are weird.
thats the best way of making a guitar for intonation and tone bro
degaboss
Actually its called an Extended Scale guitar. Check out the Toto "Falling in Between Live" video for an example of an extended scale bass guitar.
Michael Marine he never said it wasn't called that...
If you are waiting for the lesson to start and are sick of the blah blah blah blah blah skip to 4:30
Thanks bro :)
Chazz NightmareZ thanks
Chazz NightmareZ or you can just appreciate the fact he took his time to make a video lesson for ungrateful people like yourself
Chazz NightmareZ Thanks boo
So so so so amazing!!!
he is one man that changed my perception on acoustic guitar
You gonna tell us your life story, or you gonna play guitar?!!

Such an awesome beautiful guitar!
AMAZING! That is so freak’ in cool. I could watch this guy all day.

so amazing yet modest
ifreakingcredible. Funny how music goes right straight to the soul. Where there is music, every problem in life seems to fade away for a while. You just get caught up in the music and kind of drift away. Thanks Andy.
Hands down, best instructional video on UA-cam.
What a beautiful guitar.
Guitar World Magazine Rocks !!
Love the new Guitar Lesson videos
Holy shit, best guitar lesson ever, now everything is clear to me!!
Everytime I push "play" in his videos to start trolling and get my nerves upside down but I always end up listening to ALL his songs! Damn! Bravo Andy!
Love the sound, but also love the guitar! That design is awesome
you and me man... cliffs of dover was my inspiration to start playing
I've listened to you for a few years now....just now realized you lived in NM where I'm from. I took some lessons from Steve Maase and Steven Katz was my inspiration in Albuquerque. You're at the top of my list as well. Thanks for sharing this video Andy!
@saprando its people like you that the world needs more of!
Love hearing him talk about preston being his aspiration. I saw them duet on saturday night and they rocked.
Me and a Bud actually went to that same concert - Rush/Eric Johnson. It was at the Topeka Expocenter and I remember it snowing its ass off that night. We drove into a ditch going home after the show. Totally worth it.
Wow!!! thank you so much! I will try it
Great playing and a top bloke to boot. Nice one!
Great.
Thanks Andy.
So pretty much as we learnt was the tuning for the song. Awesome.
I met Don R a few yrs back I believe it they are both awesome players thanks for the info Be great to see them Live!!!

"And actually he's one of the main reason I got into acoustic guitar..."

So great!
Nice greets
Uli
I started playing on a nylon string when I was 13 because of Cliffs of Dover and I'm beginning to teach at 17.
I TOO AM DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. :D
it's all so clear now!
The construction of his guitar is a visual mindfuck
All i can say is DAYYUMMMM.... FANTASTIC !!!!!!.
very good!!!!!
I just saw Andy last night in SF and I talked to him afterwards and asked him this exact question. He basically responded exactly what you just said SaxyPlayer, so you are correct.
Tight Trite Night at the beginning have beatiful sound!!
now i can't unhear it !!!!
Genius!
the frets being shaped that way makes the guitar very ergonomic and lets it have near perfect intonation, very interesting, i really want one lol
Compared to his newer ones, drifting is easier, but I come back to listen to it and enjoy it so much more! So amazing! Can't wait to see him on friday night =D =D WIN!!! xD Hero of man and musician!
I´m an electric guitar player for about 8 years and I love listening to and watching acoustic guitar players, still knowing that I will never be able to play like that...
I am so glad I stopped in to listen, that was really enjoyable.
Dsus4 with inverted playing
harmonics are altogether lovely
@Obliaxe It's called fan frets. The bass strings are slightly long scale so they hold better tension when drop tuned, and the top two strings are slightly short scale and not only bend and take finger vibrato easier, they sound sweeter in the high register.
He even tunes beautifully. I'm so jealous.
