Thank you so much guys! Excellent and insightful reaction! Like most Marillion songs, the more times you listen the more you appreciate every member of the band. I liked how Danny said hearing the vocal made him understand it on a new level. That is what the best vocalists can do. When Steve Hogarth sings something he puts all of the meaning into it in such a way as to help you understand him on a deeper level. You couldn't get the whole meaning without the singing. And yes Ian Mosley's drumming is impeccable. Mark Kelly's keyboards put you in church at the beginning because this song is like a prayer. Pete Trewavas on bass is the glue for the chords, rhythms and melodies to hold together into a complete song. Everyone is essential. Hogarth and Rothery weave their magic in the perfect environment here. I too would love to hear Elizabeth apply her deep insights into the magic that is Steve Hogarth.
Marillion never fails to blow me away every time. 🤯 All of these musicians are world class. I think when Elizabeth finally hears Steve, she will kick herself for not listening sooner. Thank you so much for your support Digibirder! 🤝
This is magnificent. His movement between tenor and counter tenor is flawless - you can see the level of concentration and control this takes. The barest of instrumentals so that nothing disturbs the vocals. Just gorgeous.
