How the heck did they get away with this for 10+ years.
democrat policies that encourage sholifting
@@bat2275 Please, elaborate?
@@bat2275yet I bet anything they are Trump supporters
@@bat2275 Except Florida isn't a democrat run state.
Im suprised 10 years also because when dealing with drug addicts they get in trouble often and tell to get there time less so so suprised noone told sooner.
I bet these guys never complained about Summer Slowdown.
Ok never
Lol😂
Thanks Casey! I’m super careful meeting people for Facebook sales, always in a public place with cameras
Off topics, I love listening to Sheriff Judd talk about how they catch criminals even though I live in California 😊
Ya, he is good
OMG that is hilarious! I live one county over from the sheriff. I watch him often.🌻
He is the best of Polk County. He keeps us safer too.
Great info! Would like to add that my local PD will run serial, VIN# etc in addition to stolen reports right in parking lot with iPad. When you say to meet at PD where they will run #s to ensure property is not stolen - legit ppl are happy to do that! If you get crickets...you know something wasn't right! Btw I offer this to local BUYERS and it solidifies my SELLER rep as well!
This isn't a eBay scam--this is just retail theft. On eBay they followed the rules and buyers got what they thought they were buying. Has nothing to do with scams.
They were selling stolen merchandise
Great info. Also just a note that attending or leading a church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in or owning a garage makes you a car. Gotta know Jesus for real! ❤
Indeed
I saw "Ebay scam" and thought "is Daily Refinement at it again?" 😅
Delete if this is outta line. I just couldn't help myself.
LOL
Hahahaha
@@ConcernedCitizen-fx7du Noones hating. Facts are facts
@ConcernedCitizen-fx7du I'm really not. I'm a fan of dude. But I can't deny that his content along with his patreon is out of touch. I just don't feel it no more. I don't get the inspiration nor the practical information that I used to get. It's like they say alot but are saying nothing at the same time.
Lmao 😂
I want to tell you about 7 years ago, and for the record I own a cleaning company in Naples Florida - I would order online products & supplies from Home Depot! I would send the employee to pick up their stuff - This née employee I hired, she picked up her stuff from Naples - drove it 45 minutes over yo Ft Myers and took it into another Home Depot for a refund!!! 45 minutes later !!! This was 7 years ago - they issued her a store credit due to no receipt - do you know that Home Depot encrypts their scan labels hello? And I was instantly messaged by Home Depot that the products she was refunded for were items I purchased thanks to their encrypted scan system and I fired her charged her for the loss on her last check
Don’t mess with Home Depot
Thank you for the update C.P. They are closing down the CVS on Florida and Busch because of $100,000 of shrinkage. Man.
Hey Casey- thank you for another video sharing your gift of street smarts with everyone!
I have some vintage furniture I have been meaning to post, but have been putting it off as I would have to have it picked up. I sell on eBay full time and like most sellers deal with the occasional weirdo. After a couple purchases from a buyer I started to get some pretty strange messages. Mainly asking me to put the items on and send photos. I found this weird since I don’t generally model my own wears and I usually photograph on a dress form. I ended up blocking, flagging, and reporting all the strange messages and then turned to google and some other sources. I found out he had a criminal record and registered SO.
Yup those are scammers and creeps
I bought a truckload of Dewalt tools years ago in a Home Depot parking lot off of Craigslist ad. I asked where the seller got the merchandise and was sold older model discounted items. Made sense. They would make a profit and so would I. 6 months after the items sold on Ebay I got a call from an insurance company claiming the items were stolen and they had paid out a claim on these items. They had the serial numbers. I provided a picture of the seller and their license plate number and never heard from anyone else. I expected to have to pay the cost of the item.
Great video Casey …also, Your camera/ lighting for commentary is on point! 👍
Awesome thank you!! Glad its looking and sounding good
I was hoping a picture of Nicole was included 😂😂😂
Lmao if only
Exactly when I got the notification I tapped the picture to see if she was on there!
Well, there goes THAT business plan for me 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I hope so. UGHHH
born and raised in Tampa, left in 2006 and never looked back
Why? It’s amazing. I came here in 2005. Amazing town
I do not buy new items from individuals because you can not trust where is it was purchased or “stolen” from.
Generally good advice, but dang, given that 7 out of 10 Facebook Flakes never bother to show up or communicate, I only have people meet me at my house or my storage unit...preferably my house. That way I can keep working and don't lose time and money driving somewhere for the inevitable no-show. Granted, I'm in a good area, but I really consider this a "scared to fly" situation. Yes, airplanes crash, but they are overwhelmingly safe to travel on. Likewise, people buying from you (those who show up!) are generally good people and it's really, really rare to run into trouble.
I always am purposely late.
I tell them to message me when they are already at the meeting point. Then I tell them I’ll be there in 10 minutes which I live ten minutes away from the meeting point anyway.
Never had a no show doing it this way.
Thanks for the video Casey! Wow, I too live in Pasco but didn't hear about this yesterday. One thing is for sure...their COG is no longer zero!!!
LOL NOPE
I was just in Sarasota 2 weeks ago for vacation! Loved the beaches hated the traffic but I live way down in the country in Georgia
What a crazy story!! The family that commits felonies together.........
New to your channel, even though we are apparently neighbors (Pasco). Great content, thanks!!
I never give out my address on social media. I always meet at the meat store down the street. I mean I can handle myself very well but I try to keep my wife safe.😊
If I were with Home Depot, I would be seriously looking into WHY they targeted Home Depot and not Lowe's.
They did both and Walmart
@@RockstarFlipper OK. Well, you didn't mention the others.
ORC is a tough game to play. Spent 10 years battling it at a large Central FL employer. Mostly, the company saw it as acceptable loss. Takes a lot of resources, espcially when your locations are super spread out. Throw in the varying State Attorneys who sometimes prosecuted, sometimes didn't and it is tough to be aggressive as a corporation.
All the stealing from retailers we see, this how they "fence" it.
INDEED
ALL of my inventory comes off my shelves or from attic. Mine or has inherited. So, no problem. Buyer/Seller beware.
Lived in Tarpon Springs-Pinellas-and now live in Ocala-Marion County. These bastards are everywhere. Evil world.
Here is a scam for sellers to beware of with glassware. My friend sold ( very quickly ) a very expensive plate ( 150.00 ) and packed it very well and shipped it. A few days later the buyer wrote and said he wanted his money back and said that the plate came broken. He sent her pictures. I believe he already had a broken plate and used that to trick her into returning his money. He probably either resold the plate or he kept it for his personal collection. No telling how he aquired his collection. Probably all free by using that trick.
It's happened for many years, you just have to take photos with identifiers and keep for evidence. You can fight it
My son sells/buys on Facebook. He has always gone to our local train station for the sales/purchase because we have police there directing traffic at certain times.
SMART KIDDO
Good advice Casey
A little Paranoid if you ask me. Makes people scared for a one in a 100 million situation. I've never heard of anyone getting killed.
Theres literally TONS of stories of people being, robbed, beaten and killed during meetups on craigslist, backpage, offerup and facebook marketplace. Go ahead and google away
Good morning I have tried to contact whomever to sign up for this listing website. No one has gotten back to me.

Bad thing alot states have the law receiving stolen goods or property and u can be charged just for buying it even if u didnt know
No one should be expected to provide their government ID to a stranger. I agree be safe but I am not providing access to my PII so a buyer can have piece of mind about a purse.
Just subscribed- Great Video
Thanks so much. Welcome into the channel
Always talk to the seller or buyer on the phone first. You can pick up a lot about the person or lack of a person speaking on the phone.
Not even necessary. Meet here or no thanks
Hey did I miss the update on the hockey cards? Could you let me know
Selling everyday
Are you a minimalist? Because not much furniture there behind you. Which is okay. Except for the t v. Throw your tv away.
We have plenty of furniture. What?
WE have a 3300 Sq ft of furniture
Thanks
I have a question. I just want to sell some things around my house I no longer use and if I like doing ebay I might continue. I'm going to open a separate account at the bank just for that. My question is can I use a debit card from that new account or is it hackable thru eBay? If I use one of my credit cards I won't have access to the cash if I need it, but it would be protected. Thank You. Love your home, but not the gators. P.S I might need the cash for a new apartment lease that's why I didn't want to use a credit card. Thanks in advance.
Anything is “HACKABLE”. But it’s secure with eBay.
great info 🥰
Thank you!! happy to help
And try to get the sellers/buyers license plate numbers.
If you can yes.... lots of rentals and stolen ones tho unfort
Until I saw this was about ebay I thought it was going to be about Nicole State!
LMAO no comment
In some areas you have to be a licensed reseller to meet buyers at police stations.
That’s not true. Meeting somewhere to buy or sell an item doesn’t not require any kind of license. Being a business owner or reseller may require one, but the need for a license to run the business, and the location of a transaction are unrelated
@@RockstarFlipper Same thing!
QUICK DEMAND MONEY SLOW REFUNDS
??
@@RockstarFlipper !
Dang, that’s good margins
You must do the right thing don’t steal 😊
Never. not worth it
To see if money is fake, scratch the president’s coat with your finger nail and if you feel the ridges it is real money if it is smooth it’s fake.
Theres several ways for sure
Keeping it in the family.........and a great testament to religion. Unreal.
Yeah unreal
How about a vid on money laundering through ebay? It's definitely happening. Saw a Lisa Frank backpack that sold recently for a million dollars. Really? Really!
Ive covered it many times on this channel. Thanks!
OMG. I live in Citrus county
Our local meth heads had a good scam going on for a while. They were stealing peoples yard tools, porch sets, pool equipment. Then go to the local buyer, they would pay them pennies for the items. The buyer would sell the items the stuff in his small local shop. It worked for a year, until the store got known for having really good prices for cheap stuff. They all eventually got caught by trying to sell the stolen stuff back to the people they store it from.
Yeah that'll get you caught quick lol
thieves don't do well in Fl lol
They get caught quick
It took eBay 10 years to figure this out?!?! #scambay
Yeah its tough for ebay to know where the merch comes from. They have to rely on the stores to catch them
It's easy to catch these types of sellers. For example, they receive a 1099 from Ebay for each store. Each 1099 must be reported in your local Taxes, there the first error, in the Taxes of your state it appears when buying merchandise with your Sales Tax ID, if your Sales Tax ID does not have reports of having purchased merchandise or inventory, there the first suspicion, the Comptroller reports that to your state's attorney general and that's how an investigation begins.
For example, every time I bought merchandise I have a record in my bank account of that merchandise that I bought because it is linked to the Sales Tax ID, every year I receive a 1099 form that I have to include in my franchise report, all the purchases of merchandise that I did for resale, and that document is what thieves cannot verify.
You truly don’t know how easy it is to do this and be under the radar😂
What if you don’t use your tax identification number when buying merchandise? I don’t buy much items but I have bought from a couple vendors at flea markets and cash is all I used. I hope the merchandise wasn’t stolen but I honestly have no clue and the vendor was an older couple but I guess looks can be deceiving.
@@brettlott570 Exactly my point.
Well a few of my points.
@@brettlott570 for that purpose is the Sales Tax ID, for protect your as* and business against this. If you have proof of all your purchases, Bill of Landing, bank transaction that match with the merchandise, you are protected. Most of the criminals don't have nothing like this, thats why they can't proof the integrity of their merchandise.
@@carltonthepug how explain? My comment is the way of how an 100% real business works, if you don't have nothing to proof where did you get your merchandise, this is the first red flag for the Comptroller and State Attorney to catch the criminals.
The wolves in sheeps clothing are some of the worst.
THE WORST
The devil made me do it! 😂
Cost of goods = 10 to 20 years 😅
