For future reference, if you find a bomb (that one was actually a shell), put it down gently, *VERY* gently. Don't pull the magnet off, kick it, roll it about, knock it over, or leave it sitting on the path for the next hour and continue fishing! Ring the bomb squad immediately. Personally I would have lowered it straight back into the canal so it wasn't exposed to any temperature change or drying out. Plus the water and canal side would have reduced the shrapnel risk if it did go off. Asking the bomb squad if you can have your magnet back at the end is a lot less hassle that trying to pick your legs up with no arms.
"I think I found a bomb in the canal?" *I'm sorry what?* "I think I found a bomb in the canal???" *Alright mate I'm gonna put you on hold for like two seconds*
Why do youtubers do this talk realy quiet to a camara then play loud music that blows my ear drums out because I turnd up volume to hear what they are saying. Dam My EARS Hurt
I Must say that the comment is aimed at all youtubers and not just scott. there are youtube gamers that do the same eather in there games or there intros but no one has answerd the question. good luck Sott on next vid I will watch it because I like the magnet fishing idea see you soon
Yes I know but dont you think that when they edit the footage that they could edit the sound so as not to drown out the talking parts with load music? I know that I can do this with my video editting softwear. I use OBS, Camtasia 9. Nero, Sony Acid studio and Super Screen Recorder.and Audacity
a little warning.... That is a 75mm Anti-Aircraft Artillery Shell, Most likely was fired during the Battle of Britain and the one you found failed to explode and came back to ground. Since it is an Air Burst fusing that round had it gone off is like a Hand grenade. about 3.5oz of HE Explosive in a Fragmentation Shell. Would have killed everything standing in a 30 yd Radius. Next time you find Ordinance it would be prudent to call the Police and leave the shell in the water at the end of your rope.. after 75 years that HE Compound is highly unstable and the Fuse was still attached... Could have gone off just moving it... youre lucky to be alive..
Sure it was fired... where is the 24" of cartridge that was attached to it that contained the propellant charge? Live shells litter europe.. from .303 rifle bullets to giant 10000lb blockbusters..
The bit that got me was when he slammed it down on its end standing it up on concrete and as it looks very much like a shell it could well have a firing pin situated there.
...but he said he had found several like these before. Really now. IF that is an accurate statement, he would've and should've known it was an artillery shell and how to treat it with more respect. I'd have been alot more careful with one than what he was. Either way... interesting finds, Scott.
Chris Thomson because that's the joke mate. That's how it is. That's the norm for our police to respond. It could be the same as a wanted murderer. Hi I found the suspect. Ok let me just out you on hold for a second, pmsl
When he slammed down the striking end on the concrete whilst facing the underneath of the bridge that was probably one of the dumbest things I’ve seen on UA-cam!
If that was a bomb, ( and it actually looks like an artillery shell), just dropping it like you did could have set off an impact fuse if it was either.
4 or 5 inch shell wont be set until it leaves the barrel, Looks like that one was live as the rear primer ring was intact unlikely to go off but I wouldn't like to drop one lol
MerlinVI its a tank round their is nothing to go bang its just a solid piece metal thats fires out of a casing or if its older then it would be loaded with an exsposive charge i have found a few of them at calshot beach you can find them easy with a metal detector near the old sunken bunker
the differnce for someone like him is really diffecult because if its a solid shot (AP) its harmless, but if its not it can be dangerous. i find solid shots all time near belgium and holland. and he clearly doesnt know anything about explosives devices from ww2 so better save then sorry
New to magnet fishing, and headed to my local canal, being bridge 158, started magnet fishing, I pulled out that same wheelchair today along with a tripod and street sign, as I was moving off a local asked if I was the magnet fisher who pulled out the bomb last week, she went on to explain what had happened which has now led me here. Good work, gain your self a follower 👍🏻
Dayle Lofty cheers let me know if you ever want to go there yeah I rang asm to collect the scrap but I also went back and someone had thrown all my finds back in the river yeah the steeet sign church lane lol 👍
Thumbs down from me because of the irresponsible way you handled this "bomb" find. Anyone watching this, please don't treat any kind of explosives the way this muppet did!
Terribly irresponsible the way hes treating all of the bits of ordinance including gun barrel what if there had been live rounds in the barrel Kaaaboooom!!
drasticg looks like a anti aircraft shell from ww2 high explosive too looks like copper driving band is missing and it ain't got any brass fuse on pointed end so more likely armour Piercing shell early ww 2 anti aircraft shells didn't always go off just come back down then a kid plays with it and boom then a bonzo fuse was design for it so it had to go off in air only red hot shrapnel came down kids used to go mad for 💕👌💪🐺🐾
The way you handled that bomb could have almost cost you your life and maybe others you seriously need to take these finds more seriously. Great vid nevertheless
looks like it been fired but it didn't explode on impact but ricochet off... the tip has a chunk missing off so might have hit something but didn't explode
The biggest danger to health with this fired/unexploded 4" artillery shell was not the rotten explosive compound but rather the fact that it contains asbestos in the copper asbestos washer situated at a depth of 2" deep from the point of the shell, which is exposed due to the gaping chunk missing in the area of concern. The fibres would only be dangerous though once dried as moisture keeps them contained & clumped together. Yes you were touching bare asbestos & you had no clue!
I was going to say a 75mm round. Or possibly a 76mm from a OQF (Ordinance Quick Firing) cannon. Used primarily as AAA in WW2, but also used in the Sherman Firefly
He didn't know if it was dangerous or not.Old munitions can be dangerous and unstable. Better not to touch it at all and be very gentle if you must handle one.
I believe that came from one of the Bristish Naval Ships and loads into a much bigger shell and that's what they shoot off. What happened is it probably somehow and I'm honestly sure how it could of, but some how made its way off the Submarine and into the canal/river there.
They leave old Ordnance on sunken ships ,because pressure changes even slight ones. Can set them off.Wonder if principles are the same for canals and rivers .Considering the decaying nature of the munitions.
I'm no bomb disposal expert but something tells me that soaking partially exposed explosive compounds such as (priming composition S.F.G. 2,S.R. 252, composition S.R. 563 & composition S.R.343A) in canal water for nearly 80 years won't keep it dry & therefore allow it to remain a live explosive compound. This has been the case for nearly 80 years lol :-)
Keep them coming bud ive only tried magnet fishong once whike posted in germany didnt find anytging like that though anytime i seen something like that it was getting fired at me lol looking forward to more really good job mate
As laid back as that police officer was, it is a good thing the bomb wasn’t ticking. Could you imagine the reaction if you had found that by the houses of parliament.
P44 yeah the reason bombs like that don't tick is because its not a bomb its a tank round that fires ourt of a casing its just a lump of metal thats is probably worth a bit in scrap
Its an artillery shell that has been fired, it may or may not have an explosive charge inside, which under normal circumstances would explode when it stuck the target or ground.
Sebas Zoontjes ok you don't see it the way I see it, go back in the video and look at the two circles around the bottom of the shell. If those weren't there it was fired, but they are.
Amazing that area was my playground as a kid. What I do not understand is that canal used to be regularly dredged as it was used to run coal to the Ovaltine factory. Must have been missed somehow.
Why would anyone give this a thumbs down so many negative people one here. So many mature people on here going right to insulting someone. Didn't know so many of you are explosives experts lol.
You don’t need to be an explosives expert to know to not throw an old shell around, not to keep on fishing next to it and not placing it heavy handily on its primer end. While the likely hood of it going off is very slim, if it was an HE round and did go off, you’d be dead and anyone using the road above would be injured. Your stupidity could of injured others as well as yourself.
He should’ve called the police straightaway as moving ordinance can reactivate As it was sitting in nice cold water exploited mechanism is fine as soon as you start moving around with a magnet you can make that mechanism reactivate causing a nice explosion 💥
That's what made my butt pucker. I have no idea about IDing ordnance, but I know to back away , not to disturb it, definitely not to let it dry out because phosphorus is scary as hell and definitely not to fuck with it.
Somehow I find it very difficult to believe that a 4" British HEAT artillery shell (high explosive anti tank) that has been fired but failed to explode as it hit water instead of a solid target & has been rusting away for nearly 80 years since WWII with a gaping chunk missing from the fuse top, meaning the insides are all soaked & have rotted away would still be live. I would have just took it home & cleaned it up & put it on display. A complete waste of police resources. However if your unsure of what you have found or the risk then fair enough you can't take chances, hone the police. But then again you did take chances by letting a random member of the public walk past your "bomb" without warning them & then walked back to your "bomb" after the emergency services told you to keep a safe distance from it. Somehow this tells me you knew your "bomb" was rotten, sodden & wouldn't explode if you threw a hand grenade at it lol :-)
Mark, you have got the point! Calling it a bomb is actually great because everyone immediately understands the nature of the situation while saying you were magnet fishing and found a shell, round, MK IIV or 75mm HEAP just leads to confusion. Also, that you don't know the difference between a bomb and a shell just means that you probably get laid much more often than the rest of us. There are a lot of posts stating whether it is dangerous or not and why. I am ex army EOD and from the footage I can't tell for certain if it is dangerous or not or even if it has been fired so I just want to urge anyone who finds something to please treat it as the very off chance that you are mistaken. That it is old, wet or broken does not make it any safer, quite the opposite! To get technical, for us nerds that don't have a life, I don't think it is an anti aircraft shell. It has a base fuse where as an AA-shell would have a fuse you can set for different altitudes or a light contact nose fuse. I can not tell if the drive band is rifled, meaning it has been fired, or not but it does have a fuse! If it has been fired that means all built in safety mechanisms are triggered and it has not functioned as designed. Any guess at what state it is in is then moot. The pointy shape could be amour piercing but since it is damaged at the nose we can see that the steel there is quite thin. The other option is for naval guns which need to penetrate a steel hull but not armor piercing. At the damage there is some grey/white stuff. If it is concrete it is probably a practice round without explosives but if it is anything else, assume that it is explosive. My guess is a 3" 12-14 pound high explosive naval round? What did the police say? I assume you asked? Be safe and good fishing! Sorry for the rant! I just loved this kind of stuff in service.
In not a bomb tech but what's the chance if these supposedly live munitions have a 60 year waterproof casing doubtful but if it is use that technology for my cell
O my goodness!!! We were told as children, if you see a bomb, do not tough it. And run for your life. Because we had a lot of bombings on our town and some bomb just do not go off. I found one in our garden one day. Was about 10 years old. Thats a good 30 years ago. Here you come and do al kinds of realy crazy stuff with it. I almost died a few times watching this. Goodness me. You are lucky.
Good job you do here my friend like helping the environment clean and it will help you discover things by your own at the same time. Awesome! and thumbs up.
Just around the corner from the bridge was the Ovaltine factory. Now houses etc....possibly a target of interest during WW2 ? A lot of factories made other things as well as their primary products. Nestle’ in Aylesbury made penicillin! Probably had a gun battery there also ?
Oh, and for future reference if you ever find something that you think might be military ordinance very gently lower it back into the water, anchor your rope, WALK AWAY and IMMEDIATELY call the police. While it may have been in the water for a long time that's no guarantee that it won't detonate if mishandled. Bombs that have been buried since WWII and soaked in ground water have exploded when disturbed. And FYI, 15 feet isn't "safely away from the bridge" just so you know....
That was quite the exciting video. I crunched the like and subbed as well. I always thought the worse that could happen is that you might fall in and get wet. I’m rethinking that, now! Take care of yourself..
From the way that sounded when you were moving it around I'm fairly sure that was a dummy practice shell, just solid metal with no explosive in it. Even so, if you do find something like that again don't handle it any more than you can avoid and treat it with kid gloves. old ordnance can be ultra unstable and there have been plenty of cases of them detonating when disturbed causing the deaths of those who found them...
Steve Evans my thoughts exactly.
I’d also suggest stating straight away it looks to be an old WW2 UXO as opposed to just bomb
Steve Evans i
I
Steve Evans I
Guy walking his dog goes by right as the police say "Bomb under bridge..."
Lol
"I think I found a bomb in the canal?"
*I'm sorry what?*
"I think I found a bomb in the canal???"

@Why Me 'Girl From Ipanema' would have been funny! lol
Why do youtubers do this talk realy quiet to a camara then play loud music that blows my ear drums out because I turnd up volume to hear what they are saying. Dam My EARS Hurt
Ste Vanderpeer sorry mate will take note for my next video thanks for watching

Mostly they only use onbored microphones not separate ones
Yes I know but dont you think that when they edit the footage that they could edit the sound so as not to drown out the talking parts with load music? I know that I can do this with my video editting softwear. I use OBS, Camtasia 9. Nero, Sony Acid studio and Super Screen Recorder.and Audacity
use a compressor, tutorials are online, its easy, takes 2 mins to set

Mark S thanks for the advice mark was a shock time to find it and I am now well aware of how dangerous these are 👍
Jeez
It was not fired. It still has the ring and no fire marks.
Sure it was fired... where is the 24" of cartridge that was attached to it that contained the propellant charge? Live shells litter europe.. from .303 rifle bullets to giant 10000lb blockbusters..
Scott Ross hey where was that music from.
The way you moved that thing made me cringe multiple times.. dropping :O rolling down :O standing up :O
micronurd p
The bit that got me was when he slammed it down on its end standing it up on concrete and as it looks very much like a shell it could well have a firing pin situated there.
i was waiting for the ass to blow himself up....
"Better call the bomb squad" as he bashes it around and carries on fishing 😂
...but he said he had found several like these before. Really now. IF that is an accurate statement, he would've and should've known it was an artillery shell and how to treat it with more respect. I'd have been alot more careful with one than what he was.
Either way... interesting finds, Scott.
taylor smith I love magnet fishing 👍👍👍👍👍
Voice is too quiet. Music WAY TOO LOUD!
Sounds like that policeman was using an old typewriter.
It did, didn't it.. ☺
Omg , every time you moved that bomb, i found myself backing away from my fone haha.
lorraine thorpe lol thanks for watching yes was a bit dodgey
a bit dodgey? This was just dangerous behavior! the first time you put him away. your bangs him on the percussion cap!
Phone**
Phone not fone
fone
PHONE
I was expecting you to be a bit more gentle with it 🙄 then you kept on magnet fishing 😂
Campbell I love magnet fishing
HAHA leavre it to the police of england!!
"Hello Ive found a bomb." alright let me put you on hold....
Chris Thomson because that's the joke mate. That's how it is. That's the norm for our police to respond. It could be the same as a wanted murderer. Hi I found the suspect. Ok let me just out you on hold for a second, pmsl
They put you on hold while they contact the relevant people to deal with it.
Use ya loaf mate!
Sean Mac. I think I've just been put firmly in my place! So which emergency service do you work for that makes you such an expert?
Zander Branti it’s the same as American police (which I’m assuming is where your from)
Zander Branti he called the 112 emergency line which is the non emergency police and ambulance service unlike the 999 service
What a crack up you having to leave the area for safety hahahaha after you basically knocked it about like a football ,,,such drama LOL
Dam straight. Put down, call police , get the he'll away. Every time he moved it, my butt puckered.
Panzer Commander I don’t understand your comment. Bullets kill daily but your comment seems to want to state that it isn’t dangerous
Panzer Commander I understand how the devices are triggered he didn’t know what it was, he was calling it a bomb and throwing it about, idiot.
Panzer Commander the device MAY not be, the person is though. He thinks it is a bomb and still chucks it about.
Not a bomb.. it's an artillery shell. Then you drop it and place a possible live HE round under a road bridge, way to go future Darwin award winner.
and nicely pointed up :-)
When he slammed down the striking end on the concrete whilst facing the underneath of the bridge that was probably one of the dumbest things I’ve seen on UA-cam!
Pretty sure thats a 1KG german incendary bomb, or at least it looks like it to me.
7:08 too late lol, you already slammed it on its primer 😂😂😂
joshua nicholson they don't primers in the round. It would update have either been in the brass cartridge Base or from powder charge
I cant believe he found a live shell and carried on fishing? Warra nugget!

Anyone watching this, please don't treat any kind of explosives the way this muppet did!
poosmate it’s just petty clickbait he probably called the police and they said no not a bomb a deactivated artillery shell
Terribly irresponsible the way hes treating all of the bits of ordinance including gun barrel what if there had been live rounds in the barrel Kaaaboooom!!
Ok boomer
BOOM! Ha ha great find that's on my bucket list of finds well done scott
drasticg yeah on news too
drasticg looks like a anti aircraft shell from ww2 high explosive too looks like copper driving band is missing and it ain't got any brass fuse on pointed end so more likely armour Piercing shell early ww 2 anti aircraft shells didn't always go off just come back down then a kid plays with it and boom then a bonzo fuse was design for it so it had to go off in air only red hot shrapnel came down kids used to go mad for 💕👌💪🐺🐾
drasticg bucket list?? Get a life.
drasticg bucket list?? Get a life.
as far as im aware im still alive thanks ryan
The way you handled that bomb could have almost cost you your life and maybe others you seriously need to take these finds more seriously. Great vid nevertheless
"Hey, I found what I think is a bomb! Lets bang it around a bit.... " lol
you should rename this video - Magnet fishing. Darwinism at it's finest.
Xiacium1 Darwin what do you mean
Dumbass...
Looks like a solid shot artillery shell. No danger and no explosives. Use mine as a door stop .
Beastmunky exactly I am pretty sure it is an artillery shell
Ya he could have thrown that at a brick wall and it would have been fine waste of a good collectible
Well he called it a bomb so he clearly has no fcking clue whats going on...
We do too
Looks like a 75 mm ap solid shot tank round
Start at 5:30
Then skip to 12:30
Then regret watching this video
Not all heroes wear capes!
well said steve, i was looking what he did too, knocking it around like i dont know what lol
"I'm well clear of the bridge" ... Yeah as you keep walking back to it lol
Yes the call took a while but you took a while to finish fishing.
You need to be more careful next time and ring the police straight away.
So totally agree and irresponsible
That's exactly what I was going to say Jason Rowland😕😫
Thick as shit just playing with it
Awesome find there Scott
looks like it been fired but it didn't explode on impact but ricochet off... the tip has a chunk missing off so might have hit something but didn't explode
I reckon it either hit an enemy plane, the bridge or the ground on impact? What's the bets? Anything else?
I like how you "Carry on" rather than calling the cops asap.
Yes you were touching bare asbestos & you had no clue!
cracking find scott, cant wait for the follow up video. best wishes
davie-m cheers yeah going to have a great video to upload on this
Fantastic at 6:16min LOL...Run to the hills! LOL Big like! 👊
That looked like an unexploded 4 inch artillery round.
Same here, thats not a fckn BOMB :'D
Herb Ambs it’s so cringe hearing “bomb” so many times 😩 just a dud arty!
It's got a driving band, so round, not a bomb
Oliver Hawksley thanks for clearing that up! Us lot agreeing with eachother would never have known!!
I was going to say a 75mm round. Or possibly a 76mm from a OQF (Ordinance Quick Firing) cannon. Used primarily as AAA in WW2, but also used in the Sherman Firefly
So many comments about how he handled the "bomb". There's obviously no chance of it blowing his brains out.
phlodel if it was as dangerous as everyone thinks why did it not blow up this was not dangerous at all 👍
He didn't know if it was dangerous or not.Old munitions can be dangerous and unstable. Better not to touch it at all and be very gentle if you must handle one.
Didn't blow his brains out you said, no chance of that cos he ain't got any for a start..
This is new to me! Very cool.... magnet fishing!? That’s bonkers all the stuff you’ve pulled up!
Sicknasty FPV cheers have some more epic videos to come of some crazy stuff
I believe that came from one of the Bristish Naval Ships and loads into a much bigger shell and that's what they shoot off. What happened is it probably somehow and I'm honestly sure how it could of, but some how made its way off the Submarine and into the canal/river there.
think u should Ave left it instead of messing with it pal haha.
me 1 me 2 what does Ave mean kid?
The find after the double barrels, could be the shoulder stock.
Good video, with some very, very interesting finds.
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow! Your list of exciting finds has peaked already! Blazing Magnets will be well envious of you! 😊
i know richy looked similar to the starter motor blazing magnets pulled out last week . and thanks yeah finding some great things at the mo
Scott Ross They pulled out a hand grenade on New years day and the bomb squad were called out!
o yes i see that video that was crazy great find for new years day
It's an explosive tank shell. It hit the creek & didn't explode on impact. Your lucky to be alive.
13:32 look at the phones reflection theres a guy standing there
That's crazzzzzzzzzzy Scott. :-)
ha ha even the wheels had been nicked off the wheel chair lol!! cool little edit pal!!
BAJAFLATOUT!! Cheers yeah unreal what’s in these canals 👍
looks like a 75mm artillery projectile.
That look like solid steel shell not an explosive one
I love it how you found a bomb and then carried on magnet fishing if I would of found that I would of been out of the area instantly 😅😂
Nice find Scott, take extra care if you find another one on your travels nice video.G L & H H
There are Sooo many issues i have with this video, as i sit here all i can do is shake my head in disbelief!
Speechless....
WTF!?!?!?!?
John McCarthy Relax it was harmless
Especially how the L of Hemel isn't capitalised in the title
@@oldcoffer the L in Hemel was capitalised but it was an capital I not a L.
The ends of names or places don't end in capital letters! What the hell is wrong with you weirdo's?
Yea let's throw around an old rusted artillery shell that's a great idea
They leave old Ordnance on sunken ships ,because pressure changes even slight ones. Can set them off.Wonder if principles are the same for canals and rivers .Considering the decaying nature of the munitions.
Ha ha "oh my god it's a bomb...well, lets carry on for half hour!" lol Great video dude
Phil Uniacke cheers Phil I have some more mad videos to come thanks for watching 👍
Look forward to them...No need to sub me, I have like two videos lol but thanks.
Phil Uniacke thanks buddy appreciate it
It is an artillery round. Most likely an anti-aircraft round.
After i saw you pulling it up i was like " Dont you dare to drop it son xDDD " for your sake xD
Whopping find mate looks like a 105mm artillery shell used to use them while i was in the forces great video keep them coming!
Dean Murray cheers dean I have some mad ones also to come 👍
Keep them coming bud ive only tried magnet fishong once whike posted in germany didnt find anytging like that though anytime i seen something like that it was getting fired at me lol looking forward to more really good job mate
Dean Murray I believe it’s a 75 mm artillery shell.
You should have moved it away from the bridge...
coffin dodger exactly
As laid back as that police officer was, it is a good thing the bomb wasn’t ticking.
Could you imagine the reaction if you had found that by the houses of parliament.
Ian Y Gath next on my list central London 👍
P44 Good point, but merely meant it as a hypothetical comment. 😉👍🏻
P44 yeah the reason bombs like that don't tick is because its not a bomb its a tank round that fires ourt of a casing its just a lump of metal thats is probably worth a bit in scrap
It's not a bomb, it's a shell
not neccessarily there are different types of tank shell, an AP shell wouldnt have any explosive filler but an HE, APHE or HESH most certainly would
Blinking heck! What a scary thing to find! Made me flinch every time you touched it lol 👍
The fact that he got a bomb right beside him and he still continued his magnet fishing makes me feels brave
Its an artillery shell that has been fired, it may or may not have an explosive charge inside, which under normal circumstances would explode when it stuck the target or ground.
Richard Hope it hasn't been fired because the casing is still attached. For barrel entery trigger hit with pengelim to fire off.
well it doenst have a case because its just the projectile
Sebas Zoontjes ok you don't see it the way I see it, go back in the video and look at the two circles around the bottom of the shell. If those weren't there it was fired, but they are.
Sebas Zoontjes 5:21
yes it hasnt been fired but the shell/ casing isnt attached (or you didnt meant that...) :)..
i guess i interpreted youre comment wrong
this gay will blow up one day
I've been told to stay well clear of it haha looked like you was well clear
when / what time did the bomb get recovered? i cant see it.
Hello brother
NickoJunior BJMUSIC hi bro tried to sub you but error will try agin
Why would we have artillery shells in Hemel Hempstead. Were no where near the war.??
Gavin Mcinally probably our own artillery maybe shooting planes in the bombings
I'm From Aylesbury 20 minutes down the road they had airbases all over the place here into London
andy bain you could be right.there is bovingdon air field about 5 miles away.but I don't think you fire artillery shells at aircraft.
Who knows mate ? I'm just speculating could of been anything but the war wasn't that far from us .
Gavin Mcinally ua-cam.com/video/R9B5rQqyGs8/v-deo.html they all look alike tbh well most
just subscibed to you Scott, Great video, Very interesting ,You might have me doing a spot of magnet fishing too now , Cheers mate.
Paranormal Pastlife Investigations hope u r not as stupid as he is....
James Ireland thanks James I have had a hell of a lot of hate 👍 thanks for your support james
maybe because its not a bomb, its a harmless projectile .
Y is the bomb not wet if it’s been in the water
Chip King I was magnet fishing for a while so left it to a side for a couple of hours went down the river then come back later
It was when he pulled it out of the water.
Because the numpty went back to fishing after he finished knocking it about! You couldn't make this stuff up.
He should’ve called the police straightaway as moving ordinance can reactivate As it was sitting in nice cold water exploited mechanism is fine as soon as you start moving around with a magnet you can make that mechanism reactivate causing a nice explosion 💥
Chip King
Evaporation
Omg that could have gone off when you pulled the magnet off stay safe
Looks like a ww2 artillery shell, but it could be full of High explosive or phosphorus., good find
Why would you take chances? Besides after it's diffused they can get it back off the police to keep if they ask.
Is he mental moving it like that?!
Reginald no... He's British... Like me
Mark, you have got the point!
Thanks for the sub man!! Greatly appreciated
great find well done looks like a ww2 shell
WOW!! Crazy find
In not a bomb tech but what's the chance if these supposedly live munitions have a 60 year waterproof casing doubtful but if it is use that technology for my cell
I loved the way you casually drop it on the firing end!
Barry Mayson yeah bit of a dodgey move 👍
O my goodness!!! We were told as children, if you see a bomb, do not tough it. And run for your life. Because we had a lot of bombings on our town and some bomb just do not go off. I found one in our garden one day. Was about 10 years old. Thats a good 30 years ago. Here you come and do al kinds of realy crazy stuff with it. I almost died a few times watching this. Goodness me. You are lucky.
Drop it again, maybe you'll find out what type it is!(Was).Looks like a 25lber shell, not a bomb.
Oh yes I've just subscribed 👊👍👊
Good job you do here my friend like helping the environment clean and it will help you discover things by your own at the same time. Awesome! and thumbs up.
B F thank you and thanks for your support 👍
Just around the corner from the bridge was the Ovaltine factory. Now houses etc....possibly a target of interest during WW2 ? A lot of factories made other things as well as their primary products. Nestle’ in Aylesbury made penicillin!
Probably had a gun battery there also ?
Looks more like a tank projectile. Most British armor until fairly recently used solid shot that contained no explosive filler.
That's wild. Any other day the wheelchair might have been the oddest thing.
Lmao at the very first second of the video the fire photoshop is fucking hilarious
lol I like the way you just throw it about you crasy
"Excuse me i think iv found a bomb in the local canal" 😂😂
When he pulled out the wheel chair I thought it was the bomb
That was quite the exciting video. I crunched the like and subbed as well. I always thought the worse that could happen is that you might fall in and get wet. I’m rethinking that, now! Take care of yourself..
David Beach thanks for watching many more videos coming soon
That is crazy!!!!!!!! Gosh that's scarey
How long did that call take? It could have gone off at any time.
Good to see you whering gloves and that is a nice jumper
From the way that sounded when you were moving it around I'm fairly sure that was a dummy practice shell, just solid metal with no explosive in it. Even so, if you do find something like that again don't handle it any more than you can avoid and treat it with kid gloves. old ordnance can be ultra unstable and there have been plenty of cases of them detonating when disturbed causing the deaths of those who found them...
gosportjamie no this was real but when I found it was unsure I found a dummy round also last week video coming soon thanks for watching
